Silly Russians!
Magog is the chief prince of Turkey
By Craig C. White
So many Bible prophecy teachers say that Gog in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 represents Russia. This is silly. They reach their conclusion by tracing the spread of civilization from region to region. They conclude that Ezekiel doesn’t identify the nations where they once existed but that Ezekiel really means to identify a few of their relatives that may have moved abroad. In Ezekiel 38:2 the identities of Magog, Meshech, and Tubal are in question.
Ezekiel 38:1-2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him
Let’s not confuse population with migration. People groups haven’t migrated. Assyrians still live in Nineveh (look it up). Egyptians still live in Egypt. Ammon, Edom, and Moab are still in Jordan. Persians still live in Iran, The Medes are today’s Kurds. They are still living in the same region of northern Syria and Iraq, and southeastern Turkey. Nowhere else in Bible prophecy interpretation do we need to follow the “migration” of people groups in order to identify a nation. The princes that are listed in Ezekiel chapter 38; namely Magog, Meshech, and Tubal identify the provinces of Turkey. The “chief prince” or primary governor of Turkey will lead the Islamic nations into Israel. Turkish President Erdogan is the primary governor of Turkey. Erdogan is the end time invader of Israel. Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist.
