I wonder if Israel will ask Turkey for help to fight Syria in the Golan Heights?

By Craig C. White

Things are heating up between Israel and Syrian forces. Several military strikes have been exchanged on the Golan Heights.

History may be repeating itself concerning Israel. Around 740 BC Syria made war against Israel’s southern kingdom of Judah. Ahaz the king of Judah asked Assyria for help. Assyria attacked Syria and conquered Damascus. A few years latter Assyria attacked northern Israel. All of this is recorded in 2Kings 16-17.

Here is a list of actors in this historic drama from the northern most kingdom southward. During this time the land of Israel was divided into two kingdoms; Israel to the north and Judah to the south.

Tiglathpileser king of Assyria
Rezin king of Syria
Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel
Ahaz king of Judah

2Kings 16:5 Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.

2Kings 16:7 So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.

2Kings 16:9 And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.

Just a few years later Assyria attacked northern Israel. By this time Shalmaneser was king of Assyria.

2Kings 17:5 Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

While 2Kings 16-17 are not viewed as prophetic verses, a similar scenario is presenting itself today. Today Syria and Israel are fighting in the Golan Heights. Could it be that Israel will ask another far northern kingdom for help against Syria?

Jeremiah 49:23-27 describes an end time invasion into Syria coming from the Turkish border. Afterwards Damascus is destroyed.

Ezekiel chapter 38 describes a Turkish led invasion into Israel that seems to parallel the Assyrian invasion into northern Israel in 734 BC. Every nation that is listed in Ezekiel chapter 38 is now fighting in Syria.

I wonder if Israel will ask Turkey for help to fight Syria in the Golan Heights? I am already certain that the Turkish Army will invade Syria in force and destroy Damascus. I am also certain that Turkey will lead an invasion into Israel. In the Bible the Antichrist is compared to the ancient Assyrian kings. That’s because the Antichrist will do the same things that the Assyrian kings did. He will invade Syria, conquer Damascus, and then invade northern Israel. That is only the beginning. I am convinced that Turkey President Erdogan is the modern day fulfillment of “the Assyrian”.

  1. Hi Craig,

Israel has a long history of forming alliances with foreign kings, and it never goes well for them. I would like to think that Netanyahu would not make an agreement with Erdogan, but it seems that recently they have warmed up to each other. Do you think that an agreement with Turkey to fight Syria in the north may be made with the future unfaithful shepherd? It also fits Erdogan’s pattern of shrouding his advances within his fight against Daesh. That would definitely put Turkish troops in a strategic position to invade Israel. Jeremiah got it right the first time, so I think your right on with your wondering.

Sometimes I wonder as I wander,

    1. World powers are already shouting that Israel should not escalate the war with Syria in the Golan Heights. Instead of getting the IDF more involved Netanyahu may turn to Turkey in order to silence his critics. I would expect this to happen very soon.

    1. Thanks Chaz. That sounds like something the Antichrist would say. I expect Erdogan to destroy Damascus and then lead the Islamic forces that are fighting in Syria into northern Israel. I think that Jesus will return in a whirlwind of fire to the Golan Heights to stop them. I think that the Rapture will happen at that time. God bless you.

  2. I believe that the prophetic scenarios that have been on the hightimetoawake site are based on Craig’s interpretation of scripture, and we as believers are witnessing the end time events in real time. However, I am deeply sorrowed that we are witnessing the demise of America. We wonder about the hate that is being spewed towards the Jews. We shouldn’t be alarmed at this hate towards Israel. The very people that teach this hatred are the same people that endorse the killing of the unborn, the attacks against marriage between a woman and man, and the same people who will take a parents rights away regarding the decisions of life, gender, and a Christian moral standard. Shame on America, I feel that America will fail and be reduced to a heap of ash if we do not humble ourselves before God and repent of our rebellion against a Holy God and our rejection of Christ. America is not significant in world prophecy and could be blown off the map tomorrow. I wonder if America is the one force that is holding back what satan desires.
    God have mercy on us,

    David
