Mosul weather forecast
Rain in a dry place
By Craig C. White
Everybody likes to check the weather report occasionally. I suppose that even an ISIS rebel wants to know what the day will be like as he threatens the local populous. ISIS is headquartered in the city of Mosul in northern Iraq. Here is an actual Mosul weather forecast. Click it to make it larger.
It is summer in Mosul and as you can see the forecast is sunny and hot. There isn’t any rain in the forecast at all. As a matter of fact there isn’t even any moisture in the air. The relative humidity is often below 10%. That is extremely dry! This is a typical forecast for Mosul during the summer months. During the summer the chance of rain is 0% in Mosul.
Wouldn’t it be nice if God sent just a little bit of rain on ISIS to help curtail their wicked activities? What’s that you say? Are you telling me that you don’t believe that God controls the weather? Well one hot dry day long ago in the same place where Mosul sits today God did control the weather. On a day when there shouldn’t have been any rain at all. In a place where it never rains; God sent rain!
Today Mosul sits on the Tigris River in the same place that the ancient city of Nineveh sat. In 612 BC God sent a torrential downpour upon the city of Nineveh. The rain overflowed the banks of the Tigris River flooding the city. The city was then ransacked by its enemies.
Nahum 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
The Prophet Nahum foretold the flooding of Nineveh. Nahum may also have predicted the future flooding of Mosul! Today the Mosul Dam is in danger of failing. If the dam burst then Mosul would be covered by sixty feet of water. Perhaps God will send another torrential rain to destroy ISIS in Mosul. Perhaps Perhaps God will once again make it rain in a dry place just so we all know for certain that he did it!
