Is this really the start of World War III? – Turkey vs Russia
Damascus shall be a ruinous heap

Most Christians are familiar with the verse that says that Damascus shall be a ruinous heap.
Isaiah 17:1-2 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. 2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
But almost nobody seems to recognize that the prophet Jeremiah tells us where the army that will destroy Damascus will come from.
Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
Hamath and Arpad are cities located in northwestern Syria. According to Jeremiah both of these cities will hear reports of a coming invasion. These two cities are also located very near to the Turkish border. Jeremiah’s Syria invasion comes from TURKEY! Today the city of Hamath is called Hamah. Hamah is Syria’s fifth largest city located next to the Turkish border in northwestern Syria. Arpad is only a few miles away from Hamah. The city of Arpad is located in the region just to the north of Syria’s largest city Aleppo. Arpad is the modern day city of Tell Rifaat. Over the past few weeks the Turkish Army has been shelling the cities to the north of Aleppo including Tell Rifaat. It seems that Turkey doesn’t like the fact that the Kurds have taken control of the region north of Aleppo. The Kurds have pushed the Turkish supported Al-Qaeda rebels out. Now Turkey has acquired permission from world governments to enter Syria in order to takeover its northwestern region. Jeremiah is telling us that Turkey will enter Syria near Hamah and Tell Rifaat. These towns will be terrified at the reports of the advancing army. The Turkish Army will then march southward in order to destroy Damascus.
Hamah and Tell Rifaat are beginning to hear reports of a mounting invasion today! We are all living in the day of Jeremiah’s prophecy. In the next verses the residents of Damascus flee the city and then Damascus is destroyed.
Jeremiah 49:24-25 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. 25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
Most bible teachers today observe that Turkey is about to launch a ground invasion into Syria. They conclude that this is the start of World War III. Our modern day bible teachers say that Russia will escalate the Syrian conflict into a war between Russia and Turkey (along with the West). But the Bible doesn’t tell that story. Please let us see what the Bible is actually telling us. Turkey will invade Syria at its northwestern border and then march down to Damascus to destroy it. Russia is not even mentioned in this story. As a matter of fact right now the US, UN, EU, and NATO are granting Russia concessions in exchange for Russia’s deescalation in Syria. These concessions include the removal of EU economic sanctions as well as NATO’s noninterference regarding Russia’s hostile takeover of Ukraine. So Russia will give up Syria in exchange for Ukraine. Procuring Ukraine is a higher priority and one that is closer to the Russian homeland. So the way things look now, Russia will not turn Syria into a Russia vs Turkey war! Most bible teachers are still yelling “it’s World War III!” I doubt that they will ever learn. Daniel chapter 7 describes Russia as it forms an end time Russian Union. As I studied the Bible’s end time predictions I was able to tell you that Russia would not escalate the war in Syria. I reported that on the very day that Russia entered Syria!
The Turkish conquest of Syria is the first step in a very dangerous scenario but is doesn’t necessarily involve Russia or the West. After Turkey conquers Syria they plan to install Muslim Brotherhood leadership there. Revelation 9:13-16 tells about four nations that are located along the Euphrates River that together will kill one third of the people in the Islamic world from northern Africa to India. The only four nations that are located along the Euphrates today are Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. These four nations will form a new Islamic Union that will conquer the old world. This is World War III or I should say Old-World War III.
