Who’s Who in Ezekiel 38
Turkey invades Syria then Israel

Ezekiel chapter 38 foretells an end time invasion into Israel. This invasion is forming now although it is being widely overlooked. Every nation mentioned in Ezekiel chapter 38 is now fighting in Syria. Ezekiel’s battle has been forming before our eyes for the past five years but we still don’t see it! This invasion is no longer hidden! Turkey has 54,000 troops on the Syrian border. Turkey will soon lead an invasion into Syria and destroy its capital city of Damascus. But even more alarming is that Turkey will then lead the forces that are fighting in Syria into Israel. Turkey will lead Iran, Sudan, and Libya in an invasion into Israel! Ezekiel identifies these players.
Christians have wondered for millennia; who are the nations described in Ezekiel chapter 38? Well today it has become perfectly clear! We can now identify every nation that Ezekiel described and we can see them in action. Why should you care? Because Ezekiel chapter 38 describes the MAJOR pre-Tribulation event. Plus it is already underway! Here is a quick highlight of the national identities and their current roles in Ezekiel’s prophecy. In Ezekiel chapter 38 we are immediately introduced to the key player in the end time invasion into Israel. That is Gog, the land of Magog. Gog is not Russia! Gog is Turkey! Magog is Turkey’s ruler! Magog is the chief prince among his brothers Meshech and Tubal. Magog, Meshech, and Tubal all settled Asia Minor or what is known as Turkey today! They were the first Princes of Turkey! Each one was set over a province! Today Magog is the primary governor (chief prince) or Prime Minister of Turkey! Turkish President Erdogan has been President since December 2014 but Erdogan was Prime Minister for twelve years before that.
Ezekiel 38:1-2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal
Next we are introduced to the armed forces that will join Turkey in an invasion into Israel! Turkey will be joined by Iran, Sudan, and Libya! Persia is the ancient name of Iran. The word translated as Ethiopia in the verse below is the Hebrew word “Cush”. Cush was one of Noah’s grandsons. Cush settled the land south of Egypt. Sudan is the major nation that is located just south of Egypt today. Ethiopia is south of Sudan. Cush may have settled in the entire land area of today’s Sudan and Ethiopia, but the major land area belongs to Sudan!
Ezekiel 38:5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
All of these nations will invade Israel together! So if we were to see all of these nations amassed along Israel’s border then we would be alerted to the start of this war! Right? Well my friends, all of these armies are in fact amassed just north of Israel today!!! They are the major forces that have been fighting in Syria for the past five years!!! Al-Qaeda rebels from Libya make up the majority of the “Free Syrian Army” fighting against Syrian President Bashar Assad and the Syrian Army! Hezbollah trained fighters from Iran and South Sudan are also in Syria fighting against the “Free Syrian Army”! Also some North Sudanese rebels have joined various Al-Qaeda groups fighting against the Syrian Army.
There are a couple of other nations mentioned in Ezekiel chapter 38 that are also fighting in Syria today. Al-Qaeda fighters from Saudi Arabia are fighting against the Assad regime in Syria. Saudi Arabia is easily identified as Sheba and Dedan in Ezekiel 38:13.
Ezekiel 38:13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
The merchants of Tarshish are a little harder to identify. But let’s try. In Isaiah 23:6 below there is an invasion coming upon the island seaport of Tyre. Tyre was in today’s Lebanon. As a matter of fact there is still a major city named Tyre (or Sur) on Lebanon’s Mediterranean mainland. In Isaiah 23:6 the residents of the mainland city of Tyre are instructed to pass over into the island fortress of Tarshish. They are fleeing to the safety of the island fortress. It is very possible that Tarshish was the name of the island fortress located just to the west of the ancient seaport city of Tyre. I think that The merchants of Tarshish represent the nation of Lebanon. Lebanon is acting as a support base for Hezbollah in the Syrian war.
Isa 23:6 Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.
Ezekiel chapter 38 tells us that Turkey will lead Iran, Sudan, and Libya into Israel. The Turkish army is now conveniently amassed on the Syrian border. Iran, Sudan, and Libya are all fighting inside of the nation of Syria. Saudi Arabia and Lebanon are also participating in the Syrian war. The battle of Gog and Magog described in Ezekiel chapter 38 has been gathering for the past five years!!!
For your information: Ezekiel chapter 39 describes another Turkish led battle. Ezekiel chapter 39 describes the battle of Armageddon that happens at the end of the coming Great Tribulation period. But Ezekiel chapter 38 is talking about the Turkish led invasion that will happen very soon! Are you aware that this preeminent pre-Tribulation Bible prophecy is forming now? Does your Pastor know? It is High Time to Awake!
Soon Turkish forces will Invade Syria and destroy Damascus as prophesied in Isaiah 17:1 and Jeremiah 49:24-27. Turkey will be joined by the forces that are now fighting inside of Syria. From Damascus these armies will then turn south a few miles into the land of Israel.

I think your analysis is closer to a real and indeed Holy Spirit led interpretation of the current and impending end time events than any other I have seen. Having said that, I don’t see anyway Turkey invades Syria with a live Russian force there performing air strikes as I type, primarily supporting the Assad regime ( see Putins interview on 60 minutes). No one has all the answers, whether it be regarding doctrine or end times, but I anxiously await your revision and any possible scenarios you put forth given the recent developments. Hopefully they will be published here on this website.

Hi Steve. Turkish President Erdogan has already met with Putin. Russia wants access to Syria’s ports. Russia’s primary interest is controlling Ukraine and other regional countries. Russia does not want to engage Turkey in a new war. Russia will make a deal with Turkey and will leave Syria. Jeremiah 49 identifies an invasion into Syria coming from the Turkish border. Turkey will invade Syria and destroy Damascus. Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist.

Don’t let me become frustrating for you, but I know what time we are in so my interest is sincere. I am no scholar, but the Lord does give me a dream now and then. I see two entities EU and RU clearly in my dreams. So you are saying, Russia will sacrifice Assad for Turkeys benefit? I believe the “hook is in the jaw” of Russia. As I said previously, you have the most plausible lay out based on my dreams, about what is happening. Of course this is all very complicated. I hear you, that based on scripture this must happen this way, but given the last week, UN, 60 minutes, etc… With Putin being consistently, despite considerable adversity, in favor of the Assad regime, with bombings on Syrian Rebels and not ISIL today, you state Russia will somehow achieve thier goal, (Ukraine and Syrian ports) and withdraw leaving Syria and Assad at the mercy of invading Turks? Putin actually stated the ” best hope for stability in the region was to fortify the “legitimate government” of Syria”. If Turkey attacks Syria that would require UN approval. Would it not? What is the fallout from an unauthorized Turkish invasion of Syria? Doesn’t Scipture say he (anti-Christ) will conquer by peace, ( at least initially?). Perhaps you are correct but your scenario would require considerable time to evolve, as the Russian cooalition does not include Turkey. I agree ” Russia does not want war with Turkey” but the converse is even more true, ” Turkey does not want war with Russia”. So if the scenario you have painted is the only one, then it will take time to evolve. However, if Turkey were to join the Russian cooalition….then a troop build up, border crossing with Russian support in the UN….and in Syria…
I only hope to be food for thought for you and your readers. I appreciate your efforts and a site such as this.

Hi Steve. Russia will abandon Assad for a favorable relationship in a conquered Syria. I think that Daniel 7 describes the formation of the next world empire. Three Unions combine to form the next world empire. They are the EU, the new Russian Union, and a new Middle eastern Union. The four main nations of the middle eastern Union will be Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. So I think that Russia will not upset its relationship with Turkey.

Hi Kiran. I think that Daniel chapter 7 tells us that the new Russian Union will join Turkey and others to form the next World Empire. So I think that Russia and Turkey will work out their differences for now. I am still confident it is Russia. I have read it and Dr. David Jeremiah, John Hagee, and the Scofield Bible all agree as well. zech 14:2 reassures Israel will stand. The kingdom will be saved per Matt 24.

Russia is not mentioned in Ezekiel chapters 38 or 39. We will all know soon enough. Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist. Erdogan is the”chief prince” of Turkey. He will lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into Israel; Iran, Libya, and Sudan (Ezekiel 38:5).

Russia has been invited by Netanyahu to the Golan Heights to ensure Syria does not cross over. This is a truth and was published by Dr. Randall Price who is very involed in in the serch for the Ark of the Covenant and the Dead Sea Scrolls. I am an occasional supporter of his ministry, and just received his email on Russia as a protector of the Golan Heights from Syria. Check it out! Russia has been drawn in by Israel itself!
