Revelation 13 Wounded

You do that boo-boo that you do so well!

Revelation 13:1-3

By Craig C. White

In interpreting Revelation 13 there is a popular idea that the Antichrist will recover from a fatal wound. Are we looking for a man who has been wounded and lived? No. We are looking for an empire that has been wounded and lives again? We are looking for a revived gentile world empire similar to the ancient Roman Empire or perhaps the Ottoman Empire. Notice in the verse below that one of the beast’s heads was wounded. Heads in this verse represent world empires. Horns represent kings. The king isn’t wounded. The empire is wounded and revives again. We are not looking for a man with a wounded head. We are looking for a revived gentile world empire!

Revelation 13:1-3 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

We are not looking for a wounded Antichrist. We are looking for a “New World Order”. Unfortunately, the latter is a lot easier to find.

    Craig,

As you have stated, “The leopard is upon us.” Could it be that if Iran were to be attacked and severely wounded as was Iraq, that this could be the mortal head wound.

Hi David. A beast typically represents an empire in bible prophecy. We are looking for a revived world empire. http://hightimetoawake.com/revelation-13-wounded/

    Craig,

So, the revived world empire appears to rise to full fruition after the events in Damascas of Syria, and an attack on Israel. Every time I reread the Old Testament Prophecies, it seems to to me that Israel has accomplished the building of the temple, and established levitical worship. Then the beast through an alliance with deceived Orthodox Jews defiles their temple laws. I admit that I am influenced by past traditional prophecy charts, but I am taking a different approach this time around. I think we must approach the prophecies of the Bible with an understanding of history, the scriptures, and current events. The prophecies within in the Bible have relevance concerning the past, present, and future. Your commentaries seem to adhere to this interpretive balance.

Hi David. That is a great overview. Daniel chapter 7 tells us about the creation of the next world empire. It is created gradually. First a European Union, then a Russian Union, then a Central Asian Union perhaps including the Middle East. These three Unions will join together to create the beast in Revelation 13. Russia created a new Russian Union this year. It will certainly grow. The fighting in Syria is a big step in creating a Middle East United under the Muslim Brotherhood and Erdogan. There is already talk of creating a grand Muslim Union. Please read my commentary titled The Leopard is Upon Us!
