Damascus to the Rapture

It’s here! The 2016 Bible Prophecy Timeline is here! I’ve got news for you. World events are shaping up to the near time fulfillment of end time bible prophecy. For instance Jeremiah 49 indicates the invasion of Syria from the Turkish border then Damascus is destroyed. Today the world is asking Turkey to create a “safe zone” inside of Syria next to the Turkish border. The northwest cities of Hamah and Arpad are identified in Jeremiah chapter 49 as hearing reports about a coming invasion. Today this is exactly the area that Turkey wants to conquer! The invasion of Syria by Turkey is the next event to look for on our 2016 Bible Prophecy Timeline.

As I study these bible prophecies I am becoming more convinced that the Rapture of the Church will precede many of these events. As I watch these events forming on the world stage I am more convinced that the Rapture will happen within the next couple of years. I think that the Rapture of the Church will happen before the fall of Satan from heaven (Rev 12:12). I think that Satan will fall before the Turkish led invasion into Israel called Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38 (Rev 12:15). I think that the Turkish led invasion into Israel will happen after Turkey invades Syria and destroys Damascus. I think that the Turkish led invasion into Israel may prompt a Turkey & Israel peace treaty which may mark the beginning of the seven year Tribulation period. These events take us into the first part of the seven year Tribulation period. All of these events will not happen in 2016.

  1. Craig,
During the Easter season, I reviewed many of the Old Testament prophecies concerning the first coming of Christ in Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel, Hosea, and Psalms. The prophecies in those books were fulfilled to the letter concerning the birth and life of Christ. Many Christians accept the prophecies concerning the first coming of Christ, but reject prophecies from the same prophets concerning His second coming. Interestingly, if some Bible Prophecy Teacher from the last millennia BC would have made a timeline concerning the birth and life of Christ, it would have looked a lot like yours concerning end time events, and contain the names of the same prophets, which have been proven to be true. I was encouraged during this past week by the fact that God’s Word about the beginning, middle and coming of Christ was and is being fulfilled to the letter.
Always believing God’s word is truth,

  2. Craig, There is a prophecy in Jeremiah 49:35 that speaks of God breaking the bow of Elam, which is modern-day Iran, almost the very spot where the Bushehr nuclear plant is located. This supposedly has not yet happened. Would you say this would be God using Israel to break Iran’s military might should Israel go for attacking this nuclear facility? If this could be the case, do you believe this would probably occur prior to Ezekiel 38 on the timeline? The reason I think this would be before that is because if Iran’s military might has been stopped, then they probably would not be able to try to invade Israel if most of the people of Iran have to flee out of their country from the nuclear fall-out in their country as Jer. 49:35-37 seems to indicate.

    1. Hi Nancy. There is much debate about Jeremiah 49:34-39. Elam was a kingdom of its own. Elam became a part of Persia. The term Elam is often used to describe Persia in the Bible. However in this case Elam most likely refers specifically to the smaller kingdom of Elam by itself. According to Jeremiah 49 God dispersed the kingdom of Elam into all of the surrounding nations. So the kingdom of Elam has not existed since the Babylonian Empire overthrew them. Jeremiah 49 says that in the end times God will once again bring the people of Elam back into their own land.

So this passage is not about Iran. By the way, if Israel bombs Iran’s nuclear processing plants they won’t do it with nuclear weapons. Also there is not likely to be any nuclear fallout from the processing plants.

Elam—part of Susiana, west of Persia proper, but used to designate Persia in general. Elam proper, or Elymais, nearer Judea than Persia, is probably here meant; it had helped Nebuchadnezzar against Judea; hence its punishment. It may have been idolatrous, whereas Persia proper was mainly monotheistic.

      1. Thank you, Craig. So Jer. 49:35-37 has already taken place, it sounds like. It’s not a prophecy yet to happen as God has already dispersed the people of Elam and wiped out its army due to His anger to punish them for helping Nebuchadnezzar against Judea. It sounds like verses 38 and 39 have not yet happened, however, as the Lord said He will set His throne in Elam and bring the people back to Elam in the end times.

      2. Hi Nancy. These things have already happened expect for the restoration of the old kingdom of Elam. There is a chance that Jeremiah 49:34-39 has a future application for Iran. If so perhaps it would occur after Jesus returns at the end of the tribulation.
