ISIS has declared itself as the head of a new Islamic Caliphate. A Caliphate is a Muslim Empire ruled over by one person. A Caliph is the political and religious ruler of an Islamic Empire. ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi proclaimed himself as the Caliph over a new Islamic Empire on June 29, 2014. Al-Baghdadi is a Sunni Muslim cleric and Al-Qaeda leader from the city of Mosul in northern Iraq.

Judging from Bible prophecy it seems that Islam will succeed in growing its new Caliphate but I don’t think that ISIS will remain as its head. I think that the major role of ISIS in end time Bible prophecy is to attempt to establish a revived Assyrian State in northern Iraq and Syria. Like the ancient Assyrians, ISIS will slaughter its own countrymen in the Nineveh Province of northern Iraq and also in northeastern Syria. The end of ISIS will come with an attack by its neighbors and by a flood of water in their hometown and headquarters of Mosul.

What is really going on in the world? Will Al-Qaeda take Baghdad? Is all the fighting in the Middle East related? Why is Russia creating a Union? Has Egypt seen the last of the Muslim Brotherhood? The sun has been shining high in the sky since Jesus Christ was on earth 2000 years ago. The light of Jesus Christ’s gospel has been illuminating the hearts of men. God’s people have had the opportunity to preach God’s word to every nation. My friends the sun is now low in the sky. The night comes, when no man can work (John 9:4). It is High Time to Awake, and also to repent, and to believe. There is a dark time coming upon the Earth. For the Christian its time to be resurrected, and to be caught up into heaven to meet Jesus!
