Who are the young men in Jeremiah 49:26?
Guide to who’s fighting who in Syria?
By Craig C. White
Who is fighting who in Syria? Let’s make this easy; Al-Qaeda is fighting against Syrian President Assad and the Syrian Army. Hezbollah is fighting for Assad. Al-Qaeda is from Libya, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. Hezbollah is from Iran and Lebanon. Almost all of these nations are listed in Ezekiel chapter 38. Ezekiel chapter 38 describes Turkey as it leads Libya, Iran, and Sudan in an invasion into Israel as Saudi Arabia and Lebanon look on. Read my commentary titled “Magog Made Easy!”.
Lately Syrian citizens have joined Assad and the Syrian army to help defend their country. The Syrian National Defense Force is a newly formed civilian guard.
According to Jeremiah chapter 49, Damascus will be attacked and its defenders will be killed. Compare the Syrian National Defense Force to Jeremiah 49:26 below.
Jeremiah 49:26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.
In this verse the young men are contrasted to the men of war. The men of war obviously represent the Syrian Army. I think that the Syrian National Defense Force are represented by the young men in this verse. The Syrian Army and Syrian National Defense Force will be killed defending Syria’s capital city of Damascus. Read my commentary titled “The nations are disquieted over Syria“.
Hi Donna. The Prophet Jeremiah predicts that the northwestern Syria cities of Hamah and Tell Rifaat will hear evil reports then Damascus will be destroyed. Right now the Turkish Army is amassed near Hamah and Tell Rifaat. So this is very likely to happen soon. The Turkish Army seems to have paused their fighting. In the meantime Turkish supported Al-Qaeda fighters are moving into northwestern Syria. Also more Turkish troops are moving into Idlib which is next to Hamah. I am certain that Al-Qaeda will join Turkey as they fight against the Syrian Army.
After Turkey destroys Damascus I expect them to lead Al-Qaeda and Iran into northern Israel. How long will that take? I don’t know exactly but we can watch as Turkey takes each step nearer to northern Israel. It won’t be very long.
