NATO allies on opposite sides in Manbij
Turkey and U.S. to cooperate in Syria
By Craig C. White
(Reuters) – Turkey will take steps together with the United States in Syria’s Manbij region, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Friday, following his meeting with new U.S. Secretary State Mike Pompeo in Brussels.
Manbij is located in northern Syria. Manbij is one of the last Kurdish strongholds west of the Euphrates River. The U.S. is supporting the Kurds in Manbij. The U.S. backed Kurds are fighting ISIS. Turkish President Erdogan plans to attack Manbij and Tell Rifaat next. Turkish President Erdogan wants the Kurdish forces in Manbij to retreat to the east of the Euphrates River. So the U.S. and Turkey are on opposite sides in Manbij. Turkish officials say that they will coordinate with the U.S. concerning Manbij. I can’t imagine what form that will take short of the U.S. removing the Kurdish forces.
The Bible doesn’t say anything about Manbij but Jeremiah says that Hamah and Tell Rifaat will hear evil reports then Damascus will be destroyed. The Turkish Army, the Free Syrian Army, and Al-Qaeda are amassed near Tell Rifaat and in Idlib near Hamah. My guess is that Turkey will delay attacking northwestern Syria until after their snap election in June.
Meanwhile in southern Syria, Iran is threatening to attack Israel. This may be the catalyst that brings Turkey into Damascus.
Craig,
Remember after the last election in Turkey, the coup took place and Erdogan grew in strength. Shortly afterwards, Turkey made major advances into Syria. The next election will embolden Erdogan, and he will continue his operation of Olive Branch to spread his false peace. As Christ is the Prince of Peace, the antithesis will be the antichrist rising to power in the name of peace. Erdogan may be competing with Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize next go around. Not that I put much stock in the Nobel Prize, after all it was Nobel who invented blasting caps and naval mines. This technology he gave to Russia and Germany, which gave them much success against the British. It would be very appropriate for Erdogan to receive the Nobel Prize for his aggression veiled in peace. The rallies leading up to the snap election should be very interesting, and full of worship towards Erdogan. Also, there is still to come strong delusion among the nations. I am starting to think the growing delusion is the source of many not considering that Turkey is the origin of Gog.
I do ramble a bit,
David
