Egypt shall not escape

Egypt shall not escape

The Antichrist will invade Egypt then Israel.

Daniel 11:40-45

By Craig C. White

There is a movement in Northern Africa and the Middle East to bring the region under an Islamist umbrella. Egypt has loosed the bands of the Muslim Brotherhood for now, but ultimately Egypt will not escape. During the first half of the seven year Tribulation period Turkey will conquer Egypt!

Antiochus Epiphanies was the king over one quarter of the Grecian Empire headquartered in Syria. Antiochus Epiphanies is a forerunner and type of the Antichrist. The Antichrist will do many of the same things that Antiochus Epiphanies did.

Ezekiel 39:1 identifies the primary governor (or chief prince) of Turkey as the future invader of Israel. Ezekiel chapter 39 describes the battle of Armageddon led by the Antichrist. So a Turkish ruler will be the Antichrist. The battle of Armageddon happens at the end of the seven year Tribulation period.

Daniel chapter 11 describes the invasion into Egypt and then into Israel that happened in 167 BC led by Antiochus Epiphanies. I think that Daniel chapter 11 also predicts a future invasion into Egypt and then into Israel led by the Antichrist. This isn’t the battle of Armageddon. Instead it is the attack that begins the Great Tribulation (Mat 24:21). This invasion into Egypt and then Israel happens in the middle of the seven year Tribulation period. In Daniel 11 below, the king of the south is Egypt. The king of the north is Turkey in this future invasion into Egypt and then into Israel!

Dan 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. 41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

So Turkey will invade Egypt and even come into Israel (the glorious land). It sounds like Turkey will conquer all of Northern Africa and the Middle East except for Jordan. Edom, Moab, and Ammon all represent today’s Jordan.

Dan 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

The Antichrist (Turkish Prime Minister) will loot Egypt of its treasures. Turkey will be joined in its conquests by Libya and Sudan.

Dan 11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

Remember that this account refers to two separate invasions of Egypt and then Israel. In 167 BC Antiochus Epiphanies heard news of a Jewish effort to take control of the temple in Jerusalem. He then invaded Israel to stop it. Turkey will invade Egypt in the future led by the Antichrist. He will probably also hear news from Jerusalem concerning the newly built temple.

Here is a historical account of Antiochus Epiphanies’ attack on Israel in 167 BC. The Turkish Antichrist will attack Israel in much the same way.

2 Maccabees 5:11–14 When these happenings were reported to the king, he thought that Judea was in revolt. Raging like a wild animal, he set out from Egypt and took Jerusalem by storm. He ordered his soldiers to cut down without mercy those whom they met and to slay those who took refuge in their houses. There was a massacre of young and old, a killing of women and children, a slaughter of virgins and infants. In the space of three days, eighty thousand were lost, forty thousand meeting a violent death, and the same number being sold into slavery.

Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

The seas described in this verse are typically thought to be the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea. Jerusalem is between the two seas. The glorious holy mountain is Mt. Zion in Jerusalem. In 167 BC Antiochus Epiphanies took-over the temple in Jerusalem and declared that he should be worshiped as god. In the future the Antichrist will take-over the temple in Jerusalem and declare that he should be worshiped there. This verse reflects the desecration of the temple spoken of in Dan 12:11 and referenced in Mat 24:15-16. When the Jews around Jerusalem see the Antichrist claiming to be god in the temple at Jerusalem then they are instructed to flee to the hills of Jordan!

In the middle of the Tribulation the Antichrist will attack Israel. This begins Jerusalem’s Great Tribulation (Mat 24:21)! Just before his armies invade Israel they will invade Egypt and carry away their treasures. So when Israel sees Turkey invade Egypt they will have an advanced warning that they will be attacked next!

Today Egypt has seemingly avoided a Muslim Brotherhood takeover but in the end the entire Middle East and northern Africa will be under the control of the Antichrist. Lately Turkish President Erdogan has expressed Turkey’s willingness to fight in northern Africa.

PS: Daniel chapter 11 doesn’t describe the other Turkish led invasion into Israel that is described in Ezekiel chapter 38. Turkey will first invade Syria and destroy Damascus. Then Turkey will lead Iran, Sudan, and Libya into Israel. All of these forces are fighting in Syria today! I think that this invasion will begin soon!

Very interesting to read and hard to stop. – Alexandria

  1. Hi, Craig! Nancy here. I have been watching your commentaries on a daily basis, and the timelines you present interest me very much. I have been watching Turkey and what has been going on regarding Israel in the news to watch for patterns beginning to be revealed. I had thought that perhaps by now we would have seen a lot more effort on the part of Turkey to take a bolder stance against Assad and thus reveal a little more of a conquering nature since the forces of Iran, Sudan, and Libya have been there for 3 years now to help his Turkish armies out. I have a question to ask you as to when in the timeline you believe the antichrist will be revealed. If the invasion into Syria by Turkey does begin this year, then wouldn’t the antichrist reveal himself BEFORE Israel has a peace treaty confirmed by him as I thought that this confirmation would be the act that actually demonstrated the antichrist’s initial appearance on the scene and not the 1st phase of the Gog-Magog war? To me, it seems that the antichrist would actually have to be fully in control as leader of the 8-nation Beast Empire, having Satan’s power and authority, before he would try something as daring yet as destroying Damascus and having Iran and Hezbollah and maybe Russia to contend with for making such a huge attack. I don’t think at this stage Turkey could afford this year to try this, especially since there is an effort beginning to oust the PM for corruption, destabilize his government, and a dislike of his policies of cutting the internet and youtube in Turkey (human rights). He and his AKP party does not seem to be doing too well at present. Turkey it seems to me will have to win approval first somewhere along the line with the surrounding nations, as well as with its own people, before getting the latitude it needs to act much more aggressively towards Syria and its government. Even Obama since Turkey’s scandal had not spoken to Erdogan until recently I’ve read due to his questionable human rights violations. What do you believe will have to happen before Turkey tries to move destructively against Damascus? My best guess is that since the “peace process” has broken down regarding Israel that Turkey may take the lead on behalf of NATO to broker a “peace” treaty with Israel maybe after Israel gets involved in a war with Iran, and this will be when the antichrist is revealed. This seems more probable to happen this year in 2014 than Turkey attacking Damascus, to me.

    1. Hi Nancy: Yet another great comment. When is the official revealing of the Antichrist? Good question. It seems that the invasion of Syria and Israel just like “the Assyrian” of Isaiah 10 and elsewhere is a good start. The old world is being divided into an Islamist Middle East, Russian states, and Central Asian states. The west may concede Ukraine to Russia in exchange for more latitude in Syria. That being said we may now expect a more aggressive offensive in Syria. In bible prophecy terms that may mean the soon destruction of Damascus by Turkey.

Perhaps we are told about the event that reveals the Antichrist in 2Thessalonians. The Antichrist will sit in the newly built temple. It seems to me that this event may be the same as the “abomination of desolation” (Mat 24:15) that happens in the middle of the Tribulation but I suppose that it could be a separate event.

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

  2. Hi Craig,
When I read this again, I was more convinced then ever that the Assyrian Antichrist is on the move. Today I spent some time reading some articles on Todayszaman.com. You are probably aware of this news site, but there are some very interesting articles in regards to the new Parlimant Speaker, Yilmaz, and his past ties with the MHP and Gulen. Some of the commentators are predicting that Yilmaz could be the key to making a deal with Gulen, and that a coalition between Erdogan’s party and the MHP is very probable. They also say that war with Assad could be very agreeable to both majority parties. One thing they seem to be saying is that war is coming.
    Looking up, watching and praying,
    David

    1. Hi David. Thank you very much for the great info. When Erdogan conquers Syria then the entire Muslim world will hail him as the promised Sultan of the Islamic World Empire. Gulen’s role will be to convince the world to follow Erdogan.

  3. Hi Craig,
It’s nice to read from over 2 years ago a comment I’d made about Erdogan and his role as leader of Turkey. Boy, was I wrong! I was right about one thing–Erdogan made a peace overture to Israel (but Erdogan is so temperamental I don’t know if that’s really going to last). He seems at odds with Gulen since he wants him extradited, saying he blames him and the US for the coup. He may want to close down the Incirlik Air Base due to his townspeople rioting blaming the US near this base. It may get ugly if our service men are kept as hostages waiting for Gulen to be extradited, and since Erdogan has arrested so many of his own military, seems that his military may have been weakened somewhat. It seems he and Russia have gotten things more on a somewhat friendlier footing, so could be shaping up for parties in the Ezekiel 38 war in short while perhaps.

    1. Hi Nancy. Time marches on. A couple of days ago Erdogan had his first post coup meeting with the Turkish Parliament. Erdogan excluded the 80 Kurdish parliament members from the meeting. It seems as though his call for a new “Islamic” constitution making him the official dictator over Turkey was the result. Erdogan dropped criminal court cases on the opposition party leaders in exchange for their cooperation. PLUS!!! Erdogan will now have direct control over the military!!!! He also has left many of his chief officers in place. The Turkish military will be ready to go very quickly.

Erdogan and Putin are scheduled to meet in Moscow very soon. I think that that may be the final piece of the puzzle before Turkey invades Syria.

      1. Thanks, Craig: I appreciate the information, especially about Erdogan’s relationship with his own military at this crucial time in the last days. I feel for the poor Kurds living in Turkey now under an Islamic dictator who dislikes them.

Russia is still Syria’s ally, but this upcoming meeting in Moscow of Putin and Erdogan will decide whether Putin thinks it’s best for Syria’s governance to change from Assad to Erdogan, sounds like.

Will Erdogan also eventually take over Iraq if he becomes the entire Middle Eastern Caliph? And how does Iran as a Shia nation fit in with or feel about Erdogan’s plans to do this?

So with Erdogan having direct control over his military, this will make both Erdogan and Putin happy so they can work together even better. It is not prophecied in the Bible that Russia will join Turkey in the Ezekiel 38 war against Israel, just as Putin will not get involved in what Erdogan has planned for Syria. Possibly, Putin may be kept busy elsewhere with his military in Eastern Europe, like Ukraine and Poland, against NATO’s build-up.

      2. I think that all of these nations will have their own leadership. They will unite as a Union under Erdogan’s rule.
