Jeremiah 49:23 is beginning!
Turkey is threatening Hamah and Tell Rifaat
By Craig C. White
Turkish Army is now threatening the northwestern Syrian city of Hamah and Tell Rifaat like Jeremiah predicted. Believe it or not this is the most important world event that Christians should be watching today.
Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
The Turkish Army is advancing towards the Afrin region of Syria from the west in Idlib. The Turkish Army is also amassed in Azaz just to the north of Tell Rifaat. Tell Rifaat is located twenty five miles to the north of Aleppo. Turkish President Erdogan says that Tell Rifaat is his main objective in the Afrin region. Tell Rifaat is called Arpad in Jeremiah 49:23.

Turkey is also ratcheting up aggression in Hamah. This week the Syrian government is claiming that Turkey is helping rebels in Idlib to attack the Syrian Army in Hamah. The nations are beginning to be disquieted over Syria.
Jeremiah says that after Hamah and Tell Rifaat hear evil reports then the residents of Damascus will flee and Damascus will be destroyed. I think that Turkey will then lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into Israel. I think that Jesus will return to cause these invaders to retreat and also to gather Christians.
This is why I am glad I ran into your website, not many bible scholars know about this prophecy, or the Nahum one that follows after this one just a bit later.
These news puts me in a good mood, Jesus Christ is getting closer! 🙂

Hi Tibs. A lot of Bible teachers know about Jeremiah 49:23-27. But they haven’t bothered to identify Hamah and Arpad. The destruction of Damascus begins in northwestern Syria!
You are right about Nahum. Nobody ever studies Nahum. I think that there is something wrong with Christian leaders.

Erdogan has announced he will destroy the new US backed kurd syrian border patrol- along the Euphrates River, go figure. As all armies seem to be in place- could this be what starts the war that erupts in the Euphrates region? Because I don’t see Turkey stopping once it does decide to go on the attack…

Hi Lauren. I don’t think that the four angels that are located along the Euphrates event tjat is mentioned in Revelation is happening.

Craig,
This will put the U.S in confusion. Assad is claiming that Turkey is threatening Hamah, Syrian forces have fought against the PK, the U.S. is supporting the Kurds, and Turkey is vowing to push back all terrorist in the name of compassion and peace. If the U.S. opposes Turkey, they will appear to be supporting Assad, and rejecting compassion and peace. Looks like your audience at the conference will have some current events to observe while you teach. Hey, just for fun you might share that there is even a guy from California who has been awakened. My brother in law is a pastor in Michigan, and he says “most Christians in the midwest and east think all California Christians are lukewarm.”

Craig,
I was talking with my sister today, and she has been reading Ezekiel. She was asking about Ezekiel’s Temple in chapters 40 on.
I reread your commentaries “How Big is Ezekiel’s Temple”, “Animal Sacrifice is an Everlasting Covenant”, and “Will Gentiles Offer Animal Sacrifices During the Millennium?” I remember having a hard time dealing with animal sacrifices being necessary during the millennial reign of Christ. However, I was trying to answer my sisters questions about the temple in Ezekiel, and the obvious reinstitution of the Levitical stewardship of the new temple, which includes sacrifices and offerings to the Lord. Your commentary on gentiles being required to make sacrifices seems to make much more sense now. With that said, wouldn’t salvation through Christ be available to those who help Israel, and if they receive His ultimate sacrifice, wouldn’t they stop sacrificing animals? This is a hard bit of prophecy to comprehend.

Hi David. Animal sacrifice is an everlasting statute for the nation of Israel. The nations that fight against Israel will be required to make these sacrifices after Jesus returns. I don’t know if Christians will be required to make animal sacrifices. I don’t think so but what do I know. One way or another, animal sacrifices would be a reminder of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice; once for all.
Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

We are probably pretty close to sitting down with the prophets of old at table for a really good Bible Study. Maybe you’ll get a high five from Ezekiel.

David. We will have a thing or two to teach them; since we are living during the time of their prophesies. Things are heating up over Hamah and the Afrin region including Tell Rifaat (Arpad). It seems to me that Turkish aggression in northwestern Syria will be the first complete fulfillment of a specific end time Bible prophecy. Bible events could start happening faster. So our time may be very short. There is one thing that haunts my thinking. I suspect that we could witness Satan as he is cast out of heaven, falling to the earth through space like lightning. I imagine that this could happen any day now. If it does then our time is up!

Craig,
I believe in the gift of discernment, and if we who are filled with the Spirit are present on earth when old sleuth foot falls, then we should have a major dose of goose bumps. Or, maybe we will see him in passing on our way out.
