Turkish Army begins shelling Tell Rifaat
Tell Rifaat is Arpad in Jeremiah 49:23
By Craig C. White
Dec 13, 2018: Today the Turkish Army began heavy shelling of Kurdish military positions in the northwestern Syria city of Tell Rifaat. Tell Rifaat is located 25 miles north of Aleppo. Turkish President Erdogan vowed that Tell Rifaat would fall soon.
Kurdish forces captured Tell Rifaat from ISIS in February 2016. Since then the Turkish Army has been shelling the city and moving troops in place to recapture it from the Kurds. Over the past year the Turkish Army has swept the Afrin region of northwestern Syria, clearing out the Kurdish forces. The city of Tell Rifaat alone remains under Kurdish control. The Kurds have allowed some Syrian government forces inside of Tell Rifaat to help defend it against Turkey.
The Prophet Jeremiah says that when the northwestern Syria cities of Hamah and Tell Rifaat hear evil reports then the residents of Damascus will flee and Damascus will be destroyed. These are the cities that the Turkish Army is targeting today. In Jeremiah 49:23 Tell Rifaat is called Arpad.
Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
Turkish aggression towards Tell Rifaat is an alarm that should alert us to the coming destruction of Damascus. These are early reports. The Turkish Army has begun shelling Tell Rifaat. This is a military tactic that typical precedes a ground assault. In order to fully identify Jeremiah’s prophecy we should begin to hear reports about Turkey’s intentions to also attack Hamah.
Every Christian and Jew should be paying attention to Hamah and Tell Rifaat. The attack on these two cities and the subsequent destruction of Damascus are preludes to a Turkish led invasion into the Golan Heights and also the return of Jesus Christ to stop these Invaders and to Rapture the Church.
Hi Craig,
Just letting you know I’m still watching, praying, and reading your commentaries. Today, Erdogan said that “Defending Jerusalem for Muslim interests is defending humanity.” He said this in Istanbul. The war drums are beating again.
