Bashan Carmel and Lebanon - Nahum 1:4 Map

Why are the areas around Damascus and the Golan Heights mentioned in conjunction with the flooding and judgment of ancient Nineveh? Nineveh was destroyed with a flood in 612 BC. Today Mosul in northern Iraq is built around the ruins of ancient Nineveh. The Prophet Nahum predicted the flooding of Nineveh he may also predict the flooding of ISIS in Mosul! In Nahum it seems that Jesus Christ will personally judge ISIS in Mosul.

Nahum 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

While describing the flooding of Nineveh the Prophet Nahum also mentions these other places; Bashan, Carmel, and Lebanon. Is it possible that Jesus will judge these places in person when he comes to collect his Church at the Rapture?

Nahum 1:4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. 5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. 6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

It is interesting to note that all of these places are the scenes of end time events that I believe will happen around the same time. I think that the flooding of Mosul (Nahum), and the destruction of Damascus (Jer 49:23-27), and the following Turkish led invasion into (northern) Israel (Eze 38) will all happen just before the Tribulation begins. The scene is set for all of these events to happen now!

Nahum also says that as the Lord comes in his anger that he knows who belongs to him (Nahum 1:7). Could this be describing the Rapture?

  1. Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!

    1. Erdogan says Turkey will invade Syria this spring!
Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings

I Hope that you know Jesus Christ because he’s coming back very soon!

I told you that Jeremiah 49:23 says that Turkey would invade northwest Syria at Hamah and Tel Rifaat. Turkey has already invaded Syria and taken control of the area east of Aleppo to the Euphrates River. NOW ERDOGAN SAYS THAT TURKEY WILL FIGHT AGAINST THE KURDS IN SYRIA THIS SPRING! The Kurds occupy the northwest region of Syria between Hamah and Tell Rifaat. Come on folks God is giving us advanced warning. Turkey is about to enter Syria in force. Jeremiah says that after Hamah and Tell Rifaat hear reports of a coming invasion, then the residents of Damascus will flee and Damascus will be destroyed!!!!!!! The evil reports are here!

Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

      1. Erdogan paused in connection with the upcoming referendum to gain more powers, and then he would bring down all the evil against the Kurds, Assad and Israel. We had a few weeks left before the events began. God warns us that we could also warn others.

  2. Craig,
Erdogan is gaining support rapidly, and after the chemical attack I suspect that many including the US will welcome an invasion of Damascus by Turkey. Even Putin is becoming very chummy with Erdogan as of late. I think we might want to watch for a major event involving Israel occurring simultaneously with Turkey’s invasion that will draw the eye of the ac.
Just wondering, have you heard from your scholarly friend in Israel in regards to his research and your commentaries? Recent events, and the discovery of the Assyrian Palace have to lend strong evidence to the OT Prophecies and their future relevance.

    1. I think that the claim that Assad used chemical weapons is a ruse. These claims have been made before and it was discovered that Al-Qaeda used the weapons on civilians so that they could blame Assad. I heard a UN spokesman say that he was led to believe that Assad used chemical weapons. He didn’t say that Assad used chemical weapons. Even so the UN is calling for Assad’s head. If the UN says that Assad must go then it must be the wrong move

Erdogan announced that Turkey will launch new attacks in Syria this spring. He named the Kurds and referenced Daesh. When Erdogan says Daesh he always means Assad and the Kurds. I haven’t heard from my Israeli acquaintance.

I think that the Turkish led invasion into northern Israel has been planned for several years. Hezbollah from Iran and Al-Qaeda from Libya (Eze 38:5) announced their intentions for a joint invasion into the Galilee region of northern Israel a couple of years ago.

    1. Hi John. I read the article. Lebanon is a mess. Good thinking on your part by equating trouble in Lebanon with Nahum 1:4. Hezbollah is a huge problem in all of Lebanon. Most significantly Hezbollah has military positions in southern Lebanon from which they shoot missiles into Israel. It makes sense that when Turkey leads the forces that are fighting in Syria into northern Israel that Hezbollah will also attack Israel from the southern border of Lebanon.

Jesus will return in a whirlwind of fire to scorch southern Lebanon, southern Syria, and the Golan Heights of northern Israel.

Nah 1:4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
