Russia will not “invade” Ukraine
A full scale invasion is different than a military operation

February 23, 2022: Russia says that they are not about to invade Ukraine. Ukraine says that Russia is not about to invade Ukraine. They say that there aren’t hundreds of thousands of Russian troops mobilized on the Ukraine border as the western media reports. I think that there is some truth to this observation. That doesn’t mean that Russia won’t attack Ukraine but it does suggest that Russia isn’t prepared to launch overwhelming forces with the intention of occupying Ukraine.
The notion of a full scale Russian invasion is an overstatement by the Biden administration. It is a rumor of war. I am not ruling out a military operation by Russia. I am making a distinction between an invasion meant to occupy a nation versus a military operation designed to rescue civilians in distress.
February 24, 2022: Now Russia has shelled military positions in Ukraine mostly from behind the Russian border. That does not qualify as an “invasion”. Russia said that they will not target cities and will not occupy Ukraine. This latest operation in Ukraine is not an advance of Russian ground troops. It is a shelling operation. Russia says that this is an operation to protect civilians in the Donbass region. There is some truth to that.
The Donbass region declared their independence from Ukraine in 2014. Since then the Ukraine Army has been shelling the neighboring Donbass region most egregiously targeting civilians. Russia sought a diplomatic solution to the constant shelling in the form of the “Minsk agreements”. The Minsk agreements were a series of international agreements which sought to end the war in the Donbas region of Ukraine. Ukraine completely neglected to uphold the Minsk agreements. The shelling of civilians has continued for nearly eight years.
Around the middle of February 2022 the Ukraine Army sharply increased the shelling of Donbass. Donbass requested help from Russia.
Ukraine knowingly provoked Russia into a military response. The US, EU, and Turkey pushed Ukraine into this provocation politically through empty promises of NATO membership and by providing advanced arms. Ukraine used these arms to escalate the shelling in Donbass where most of the Ukraine Army is positioned. Western powers pumped Ukraine full of advanced arms but were derelict to back Ukraine in case of a Russian attack. Western powers must have realized that they were prodding Russia into military intervention. The more Ukraine bombed Donbass the more Ukraine agitated the bear. These are inconvenient truths that are rarely referenced by the western media.
Bottom line, I would expect to see a political solution to the Russian attack on Ukraine rather than a Russian occupation.
That being said, I think that Russia certainly will regain Ukraine as part of a new Soviet Union. Daniel chapter 7 describes three Unions that will combine to form the next world empire. The European Union will unite with a new Russian Union and a new Middle Eastern Union. These Unions are listed in that order in Daniel chapter 7. So we know that the European Union exists and you could say that it has had its wings plucked of with Brexit. We should probably expect to see a new Russian Union form soon. These rumors of a Russian invasion have caused the US and other nations to abandon Ukraine. Russia will probably be able to gain control over Ukraine with minimal effort. Russia has already formed an economic union with Belarus and Kazakhstan. Ukraine was supposed to be part of this Union but backed out at the last minute. Perhaps these are the three ribs in the mouth of the bear in Daniel 7:5.
Dan 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
Let’s remember that these unions exist during the end time. I think that these unions will combine during the first half of the seven year long Tribulation period. So Christians should not expect to see all of these things happen before the Rapture. Jesus is coming soon. It is High Time to Awake!

The narrative that the United States is promoting is false. Russia is not on the verge of invading new territory in Ukraine. Donetsk and Luhansk are a separate matter. Russian separatists have controlled Donetsk and Luhansk (the Donbas region of Ukraine) for eight years. There is active shelling going on there.
Most importantly we should understand that the Bible predicts an end time Russian Union. We should expect Ukraine including Donetsk and Luhansk and much more to eventually fall under Russian control.

With all respect, this is an invasion. Don’t you think this will embolden Erdogan to invade Syria soon. I think this deal was made between Russia and Turkey a few years ago. Erdogan is now denouncing Russia’ invasion. This might only be a pretense to justifying an attack on Damascus. Things are going to unravel very quickly now across the entire world. America really needs to wake up, and consider how God has used nations and rulers in past history to judge his people. America is asleep, and sin abounds.

There are no Russian troops in Ukraine. Last night’s operation was limited to shelling Ukraine military positions from the Russian border. There is a lot of misinformation on the news. They are using old footage from other conflicts such as the Syrian war.
Turkey has been supplying Ukraine with arms. Turkey is one of the parties that is responsible for the escalation of violence against the civilian population in Donbass.

Russian troops are surrounding the capital right now. Even Fox News says so and they can’t stand Biden. Your bias is showing heavily.

Of course Russia is attacking Ukraine. I am saying that Russia is not invading Ukraine. This is not a full scale invasion as the media reports. Russia is not trying to occupy Ukraine. There are not battalions of Russian troops marching into Ukraine.
Give it a few days. If Russian troops are fighting to take over Kiev then I will admit that I am wrong.

You could be right DG. Russia is not fighting in the streets of Kiev yet. There has been some shelling in or near Kiev. So far I don’t see an occupying force. I will keep watching.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and remember Luke 2:28. The message is that Christ will return soon, and the focus should be on all people of every nation being prepared to meet their God! The last time I looked, the only one who got it right 100% of the time was God and His word.
