    Egypt is stirring against Turkey

The king of the south will push at the king of the north

    By Craig C.White

Daniel 11:40-45 tells us that the Antichrist will conquer Egypt during the first half of the Tribulation period. Daniel says that Libya and Sudan will fight along side of the Antichrist’s army. Today Turkey is gaining control of Libya. Sudan is already aligned with Turkey.

Daniel describes a battle between two kings. They are called the king of the south and the king of the north. Every Bible scholar agrees that the king of the south refers to Egypt. I’m here to tell you that the king of the north refers to Turkey. These two nations will fight from opposite sides of the Mediterranean Sea.

Daniel 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

Daniel says that Egypt will first push at Turkey. Now Egypt is creating an anti-Turkey alliance.

It is easy to see how these prophetic events are forming. It is easy to see that Turkey will heal the head of the Ottoman Empire. Turkey is poised to attack the Syrian army and to destroy Damascus. Turkey is turning Libya over to the Muslim Brotherhood. Turkish President Erdogan has vowed to reinstate Muslim Brotherhood leadership in Egypt. The writing is on the wall. The Tribulation is about to begin. Jesus will return for his Church soon. Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist. It’s High Time to Awake!

    10 million Syrian refugees

    Damascus will flee to Jordan!

    By Craig C. White

The Prophet Jeremiah tells us that the citizens of Damascus, Syria will flee from the city before its destruction. Today over 10 million Syrians have already fled their homes. Many have fled from Damascus. Many others have also fled to Damascus. Ultimately the inhabitants of Damascus will leave the city behind along with its young men and soldiers. The armed forces defending Damascus today are looking more like the forces described in Jeremiah 49:26.

Jeremiah 49:23-26 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. 24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. 25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy! 26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.

There are currently some 4 million Syrian refugees registered in neighboring countries. Over 9 million Syrians have been displaced from their homes. Even Iraqi refugees that once fled to Syria are now returning to Iraq; many of them are Christians. Here is an account of their numbers as of July 2015.

    Syrian refugees in neighboring countries:
    Lebanon: 1,172,753
    Turkey: 1,805,255
    Egypt: 132,375
    Iraq: 251,499
Jordan: 629,128 (equal to nine percent of Jordan’s population)

For more stats see The UN refugee agency UNHCR http://www.data.unhcr.org/syrianrefugees/syria.php

The Prophet Amos also condemns Damascus. This prophecy was fulfilled when Tiglath-pileser the Assyrian king conquered Damascus (734 B.C.) and carried the Syrian (Aramean) captives away to Kir which is a mountainous region in western Jordan. However, like many Bible prophecies this may also refer to a future event. There are currently over 620,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan.

In Amos 1:5 below, the plain of Aven is a valley in the northeast part of Lebanon near the Syrian border. Today it is called the Bekaa valley. It has been suggested that Saddam Hussein hid WMD’s here before the invasion of Iraq.

Amos 1:3-5 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron: 4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad. 5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.

Today the Syrian Army is fighting Al-Qaeda rebels on many fronts. Damascus is under siege but many citizens still remain. About 80,000 Syrian Army troops were fighting inside of Damascus as of November 2013. These numbers include non-military security men or civil guard (see Jeremiah 49:26). According to Amos 1:5 above; the people of Syria will flee to Jordan. 620,000 have already fled there. In Jeremiah 49:23 we are told that Syria’s northwestern cities will hear of an invasion coming from the Turkish border. When the city of Damascus is attacked from the north by Turkey then Jordan may be the only route of escape.

    Rapture fuse is lit!

    By Craig C. White

We are very near to the return of Jesus to collect his Church. It is easy to identify and to watch the events that lead up to Jesus’ return. As Turkey and their allies move nearer and nearer to Israel we can know that Jesus is on his way. Jesus will return to cause the Turkish led forces in the Golan Heights to retreat! Turkey is in northwestern Syria now. Turkey will attack Hamah and Tell Rifaat first (Jer 49:23-27). Turkish President Erdogan said that the Turkish Army could attack at any moment. Then Turkey will move south to destroy Damascus. Finally Turkey will lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into the Golan Heights of Israel (Eze 38). I think that Jesus Christ will return at that time to fight against the Turkish led invaders in the Golan Heights (Nahum 1:3-8). Jesus will also take away Christians when he comes.

The Rapture fuse is lit! The nearer that Turkey gets to Israel, the nearer that Jesus will get to Israel. By the way, today the Turkish Army is 300 miles away from the Golan Heights of Israel.

The nearer that Turkey gets to Israel The nearer that Jesus will get to Israel

Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist. He will destroy Damascus and then invade the Golan Heights. Jesus will return to turn them back and to take his Church away. Afterwards I think that a peace deal will be made beginning the seven year Tribulation period.

    Jesus is coming!

    By Craig C. White

Whether you think that Russia is identified as Gog and Magog in Ezekiel chapter 38 or perhaps you have rightly identified Turkey as being Gog and Magog; every nation that is listed in Ezekiel chapter 38 is fighting in Syria today. So all of us ought to be on our toes as we watch events unfold in Syria. On that we can agree. We are all in this together!

Ezekiel chapter 38 describes Turkey as they lead Iran, Libya, and Sudan into Israel. All of these nations are fighting in Syria today. Jeremiah 49:23-27 describes an attack on the cities of Hamah and Tell Rifaat in northwestern Syria and then the destruction of Damascus. The Turkish Army is fighting its way towards Tell Rifaat now. So it is evident that Turkey will destroy Damascus. Damascus is only thirty miles from the Golan Heights of Israel. So after Turkey destroys Damascus then they will most likely lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into the Golan Heights.

We are now watching the Turkish Army fighting near Hamah and Tell Rifaat as Jeremiah 49:23 says. We can watch as they near Damascus. From there we can observe if they turn south towards Israel. If they get that far then we know that Ezekiel chapter 38 tells us that God will fight against them with fire and brimstone, earthquakes, and torrential rain. Nahum 1:3-8 describes a similar scenario. Nahum makes it more clear that this is the Lord coming in a whirlwind to the Golan Heights. Nahum also says that the Lord knows and protects those people who trust in him. It is a distinct possibility that Jesus will return to take away his Church when the Turkish led forces enter the Golan Heights of northern Israel. So watch!

  • Who were the Merchants of Tarshish?

Who were the Merchants of Tarshish?

    Tyre’s island fortress

    Ezekiel 38:13

    By Craig C. White

According to Ezekiel 38:5 Turkey will lead Libya, Iran, and Sudan in an invasion into Israel. All of these nations are fighting in Syria today. I think that Turkey will invade Syria, destroy Damascus, and then lead these nations in an invasion into Israel! Three other nations are also mentioned in Ezekiel 38:13. Two are easy to identify. One is not so easy. They are Sheba, Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish. Sheba and Dedan are easily identified as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia; but who are the merchants of Tarshish?

There has been a long debate over the identity of the merchants of Tarshish in Ezekiel 38. The fact that they are called merchants leads us to think that they were a major shipping power in ancient days. Some say that the merchants of Tarshish refer to Spain because Tartessos was the name of a harbor city in ancient Spain. Some say that the merchants of Tarshish extend to all of Europe and the United States because Ezekiel 38:13 says that Tarshish is accompanied by its young lions. I don’t know if that is correct. All of the other nations that are listed in Ezekiel 38 are located in the Middle East. Perhaps Tarshish is also located in the Middle East.

Ezekiel 38:13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

In the verse above, the merchants of Tarshish are accompanied by all of their young lions. Most Bible prophecy teachers equate young lions with nations. I think that is a mistake. The Hebrew word Kephiyr translated as young lions primarily means village. So it is much more reasonable to equate the term young lions to mean the regional area of a country such as a county or province. It may be a mistake then to equate the term young lions to refer to several entire countries.

The merchants of Tarshish are mentioned alongside of Sheba and Dedan in Ezekiel 38:13 above. They seem to be excusing themselves from participating in the invasion into Israel. They use a flimsy argument that will excuse them from participating in the invasion but at the same time cheer on its success. They all ask the Turkish led invaders of Israel “Are you going into Israel to rob them?”

The merchants of Tarshish are listed with Saudi Arabia. Perhaps when it comes to the invasion into Israel the merchants of Tarshish have something in common with Saudi Arabia. I would like to point out that all of the rest of the above mentioned nations are also currently fighting in Syria. Perhaps the merchants of Tarshish also have something in common with Saudi Arabia as it is fighting in Syria. Saudi Arabia is the latest entry into the battle for Syria. The Saudi government is supporting Al-Qaeda terrorists from Saudi Arabia as they fight against Syrian President Assad. The main Al-Qaeda force fighting in Syria today is from Libya. There is one other Al-Qaeda faction that has significant representation in Syria; and that has also not yet been identified in Ezekiel chapter 38. That is Al-Qaeda from Iraq! Could Iraq represent the merchants of Tarshish? It is a possibility. Was the region around Iraq a major shipping power in ancient days? Yes it was one of the biggest, and it still is today. The Tigris and Euphrates Rivers were and are both major shipping channels. Today Iraq’s capital city of Baghdad lies on the Tigris River. The ancient Assyrian capital city of Nineveh still lies on the Tigris River in far northern Iraq across the river from the modern city of Mosul. Al-Qaeda in Iraq is headquartered in Mosul in the Nineveh Province.

Is there any biblical evidence of a person or region named Tarshish in ancient Iraq? I think that there is. In Esther chapter 1 below, King Ahasuerus calls a conference together with the seven princes of the Persian Empire. The Persian Empire was actually a dual empire headed by Persia which is today’s Iran, and Media which was located in today’s northern Iraq. One of the princes of the Persia and Media regions was named Tarshish. If Prince Tarshish ruled over a province in Media (or northern Iraq) then he just may be the Tarshish that Ezekiel recognizes. Perhaps Prince Tarshish ruled over the Nineveh Province!

Esther 1:14 And the next unto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king’s face, and which sat the first in the kingdom;)

Princes are set over provinces. So Prince Tarshish was the first ruler in his province of ancient Persia or Media, which is today’s Iran and Northern Iraq.

We know from Ezekiel 38:5 that Iran will participate in the Turkish led invasion into Israel. Tarshish accompanies Saudi Arabia in Ezekiel 38:13. They both cheer on the plundering of Israel. Both Saudi Arabia and Iraq play secondary roles in Syria today. It is possible that Saudi Arabia and Iraq are represented in Ezekiel 38:13. It may be that after the fighting in Syria ends then Al-Qaeda from Saudi Arabia and Iraq will both excuse themselves from invading Israel. It is possible that the merchants of Tarshish represent today’s northern Iraq!

I do see some problems with this view. Like I said before we don’t know which Province Prince Tarshish ruled over. Most importantly the merchants of Tarshish are called merchants! Assyria was a shipping destination. But Nineveh was the end of the line. In fact the Tigris River gets very shallow that far north so shipping is limited. There is another town that is almost always referred to as merchant; both in the Bible and also in world history. No, I don’t think that the merchants of Tarshish represent northern Iraq.

Here we go again. This time I think that we really may have gotten it right! There is also biblical evidence that Tarshish was in today’s Lebanon.

Tarshish was the son of Javan. Javan was the brother of Magog. Magog settled in today’s Turkey. Tarshish may have settled nearby in today’s Lebanon.

Gen 10:2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

Gen 10:4-5 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

In Isaiah chapter 23 the city of Tyre (or Tyrus) is prophesied to be destroyed. Tarshish is mentioned several times in this chapter. Tyre was a very busy and wealthy seaport city located in today’s Lebanon. Tyre consisted of a large mainland town plus an impressive fortress just 1000 yards off its shore. The walls of the fortress were said to have been 150’ high! Shipments would be protected by the island fortress of Tyre and warehoused on the mainland. The mainland city of Tyre was besieged by the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar in 585 BC. The siege lasted thirteen years.

There is still a city at Tyre in Lebanon today. Today Tyre is called Sur or Sour meaning rock. It is on Lebanon’s southern Mediterranean coast. Just 1000 yards off of its shore rests the ruins of the ancient island fortress of Tyre. The island fortress was attacked by Alexander the great in 332 BC and wiped flat.

Isa 23:1 The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

In Isaiah 23:6 below there is an invasion coming upon the mainland city of Tyre! The residents of Tyre are instructed to pass over into Tarshish. They are fleeing to the safety of the island fortress. We know from history that the citizens of the mainland city of Tyre did in fact flee to the island fortress. Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar besieged the mainland city of Tyre from the land. Tyre’s residents sought refuge in Tyre’s island fortress. It is very possible that Tarshish was the island fortress of ancient Tyre.

Isa 23:6 Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.

Isaiah 23:14 below illustrates the economic and most importantly the security reliance that the merchants of Tarshish had on the island fortress of Tyre. Tyre’s island fortress protected the shipping industry. So the merchants of Tarshish sailed in and out of port under its protection.

Isa 23:14 Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.

The merchants of Tarshish play a role in Ezekiel 38’s Turkish led invasion into Israel. They ask the Turkish forces “Have you come to rob Israel?” (Eze 38:13). If Turkey invades Israel from Syria’s southern border then they would pass right by Lebanon. It seems very likely then that the merchants of Tarshish could in fact represent today’s Lebanon.

Eze 38:13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

In the book of Jonah, Jonah tries to escape from God by hightailing it out of the land of Israel. Jonah got on a ship at Joppa to sail his way to Tarshish. Joppa is a city on Israel’s Mediterranean coast just south of Tel Aviv. Tyre or Tarshish in southern Lebanon would have been the ships first stop outside of the land of Israel.

Jon 1:3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

We don’t know exactly when Jonah headed for Tarshish but it was sometime around 800 BC. There was probably already a fortress at Tyre. Jonah may have thought that he would be safe from God there. King Hiram of Tyre sent building materials to King David for his palace around 965 BC.

2Sa 5:11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.

Jonah wanted to make haste for the first city outside of Israel. He may have also sought the protection of the island fortress of Tarshish. This argument seems simple and straight forward to me. I think that it makes more sense to identify the merchants of Tarshish as seagoing merchants from the nation we call Lebanon today. Lebanon will one day ask Turkey and its invading forces from Libya, Iran, and Sudan, “Have you come to rob Israel?”

    Second Coming Wrath Path

Out of Egypt have I called my son.

    Matthew 2:15

    By Craig C. White

While dispensing God’s wrath at the second coming, Jesus will take a prescribed route. Many bible students think that Jesus will descend out of heaven and touch down on the Mount of Olives.

Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

At the second coming Jesus will in fact stand on the Mount of Olives but not at first. I think Jesus will take a more circuitous route during his Revelation. His route will be one that we have seen before. The route of Jesus Christ’s Second coming will be very similar to the route that Israel followed out of Egypt as God led them. Come with me as I follow the Revelation Wrath Path.

This commentary chronicles Jesus’ path of Revelation and vengeance during his second coming at the end of the tribulation. Surprisingly this journey does not begin in Jerusalem. As a matter of fact it doesn’t end in Jerusalem either. Instead God begins the Revelation of Jesus out of Egypt!

Num 24:8-9 God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows. 9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.

Hos 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

When Jesus was a boy God called him out of Egypt. Like many prophecies this one has two distinct applications separated by time. At Jesus’ second coming God will again call his son out of Egypt! That will be a day of wrath and revelation of righteous judgment.

Mat 2:15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Jesus will ride out of heaven into Egypt on a cloud. Trust me this is a scary cloud. The following verse was written long after God delivered the nation of Israel from Egypt; so it cannot pertain to Israel’s exodus out of Egypt. It is about Jesus’ second coming!

Isa 19:1-2 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it. 2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

Verse 2 (above) sounds like what is happening in Egypt today, however when Jesus passes through Egypt; the people will be completely confounded. The Revelation of Jesus Christ will be terrifying.

Jer 4:13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

Christ’s second coming is a whirlwind tour! Habakkuk prophesies about Jesus next location. Check out the Revelation Wrath Path map bellow for these bible locations. Remember that the route of the Revelation of Jesus is very similar to the route that Israel took out of Egypt.

Revelation Wrath Path: Map of Jesus Christ’s return trip at the end of the 7 year tribulation period. Called “the day of the LORD”, or “the day of the LORD’S wrath”. • The beginning of sorrows happen during the first half of the 7 year Tribulation period

The beginning of sorrows happen during the first half of the 7 year Tribulation period

The beginning of sorrows are the signs of Israel’s Great Tribulation not signs of the Rapture.

    Matthew 24

    By Craig C. White

Many Bible teachers say that there will be earthquakes and wars before Jesus Christ returns for his Church. They say that these signs are the beginning of sorrows mentioned in Matthew 24:8. Well hold on just a minute. Are these signs meant for the Church or are these signs meant for the nation of Israel?

In Matthew 24 Jesus is asked the question “what shall be the sign of thy coming?” Which coming is he describing? Is he describing his coming to gather Church age believers, or is he describing the period before he comes to rescue the nation of Israel and set up his throne in Jerusalem?

Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

First it is important to understand who Jesus is talking to. He is talking to his disciples. It is important to note that they are all Jewish. They are all looking forward to God establishing his kingdom on earth. It is also important to note when the message was given. It was given by Jesus before his death, and before the gospel was preached to the gentile nations. This message was given before the Church was established.

Then it is important to carefully examine the message itself. Are there clues to which group of people Jesus is prophesying about? Yes, there are very clear indications that Jesus is prophesying about the trails of the Jewish people during the Tribulation period. As a matter of fact Matthew 24:21 is the verse where we get the term great tribulation. So Matthew 24 should not be used to illustrate the signs of the Rapture of the Church. Also Matthew 24 should not be used to prove that the Church will participate in the Tribulation period.

The gospels are very important since they record Jesus Christ’s genealogy, standards of righteousness, forgiveness of sin, miracles, fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, and Christ’s death as payment for the worlds’ sin. The message of the four gospels is to be understood by Church age believers. We should also understand that most of Jesus’ teaching, parables, and prophecy are specifically directed to the nation of Israel. Jesus was sent especially to seek and to save the lost sheep of Israel.

Mat 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Mat 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

It is sometimes difficult to know who is being addressed in the New Testament. Is Jesus talking about the nation of Israel or is he talking about the Church? A rule of thumb is that Jesus was sent to the Jews first and primarily. The gospel of the coming kingdom of God was preached first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. Jesus primarily taught the nation of Israel. The four gospels were written about Jesus’ life and ministry. They primarily address the nation of Israel. Of course, there is plenty of teaching to be absorbed by Church age believers. The disciples taught the Jews first and then the other nations. The Gospels typically address Israel. The epistles (or letters) to the Churches were written specifically to Church age believers!

Act 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Let’s take a quick look at Matthew 24. I know that preachers and prophecy buffs like to identify natural disasters as signs of Jesus’ return for his Church, but these signs were provided for the nation of Israel during the first half of the seven year Tribulation period. They are signs that happen before Israel’s time of trouble. They happen well before Jesus Christ’s second coming to defeat Israel’s enemies and to set up his throne in Jerusalem.

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

So who is Jesus talking about? As we will see, “the beginning of sorrowsin verse 8 above are not signs that Church age believers should be on the lookout for, instead, they are events that will happen during the first half of the Tribulation period. Jesus is talking to and about the nation of Israel here. In verse 9 below, Jesus tells his Jewish disciples that “ye shall be hated of all nations”. The word translated “nations” is the Greek word “ethnos”. It is often translated as “gentile”. Ethnos refers to non-Jewish nations. It doesn’t refer to all nations in the world. It refers to all families or people groups. In practical terms it refers to the old world nations that came from specific families; like the Greeks, Turks, Egyptians, Syrians, Iranians, Saudis, Jordanians, and many more. So in verse 9 Jesus isn’t saying that Church members will be hated, but that the entire nation of Israel will be hated by all of the surrounding nations.

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

In the verses below, Jesus isn’t addressing the Church, but he is warning Jews during the 7 year Tribulation period. Many Jews will disregard God and his promises to Israel. Many Jews will be killed. But those who trust God to the end will be saved. Please read my commentary titled “The Last Jews in Jerusalem” in my book “Israel’s Beacon of Hope”.

Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

In Matthew 24:14 below we can see that Jesus is talking about the Tribulation period. The Tribulation period is a seven year span designated for God to show his displeasure with Israel’s rejection of him. In Matthew 24:14 the gospel is preached in all the world. This happens during the Tribulation period as described in Revelation. So we can see that Jesus is addressing people that are living during the Tribulation period.

Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The following verses are obviously addressed to Jews living around Jerusalem. The inhabitants of Judea (the region around Jerusalem) are called by name in verse 16. So it is very clear that Jesus is describing the coming trials of the nation of Israel, and not the signs of the rapture of his Church.

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

If that isn’t enough evidence that Jesus is describing Israel’s Great Tribulation, then look at Matthew 24:21 below. This is the verse that we get the term “Great Tribulation” from.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Today the Church is suffering at the hands of the nations, but the nation of Israel is scheduled to suffer 7 years of tribulation. In Matthew 24 Jesus is explaining the trials that Israel will suffer during the Tribulation period. The beginning of sorrows in Matthew 24:8 are the events of the first part of the Tribulation. After the abomination of desolation in Matthew 24:15 the worst part of the Tribulation begins (Dan 9:27). It is called “great tribulation” in Matthew 24:21. The second part of the Tribulation lasts 3 ½ years or 42 months or 1260 days (Dan 7:25, Dan 12:7, Rev 11:2-3, Rev 12:6, Rev 12:14, Rev 13:5).

The Tribulation period is designated to exercise God’s indignation towards the nation of Israel, it is not meant not for trying the Church. The 7 year Tribulation period is the same as the seventieth week prophesied by Daniel (Dan 9:24). It is a 7 year period of trouble for the nation of Israel, not a time for trying the Church. Jeremiah calls the Tribulation “the time of Jacob’s trouble” not the time of the Church’s trouble. The seven year long Tribulation period is designated for Israel’s chastisement.

Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

In 1 Thessalonians below, the dead in Christ are raised from the dead. Those “in Christ” are Church age believers. They are “caught up” or taken by force up into the sky. The gathering of Jews will happen differently as we will see. Please read my commentary titled “The Rapture Day!

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The gathering of Jewish believers will happen differently. Below, the elect are God’s chosen people (Deu 7:6). They are the people of Israel that have been scattered throughout the world by every past world empire. The people of Israel will be raised from the dead at the end of the Tribulation period. They won’t be taken into the sky. They will walk back to the land of Israel on foot.

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Isa 11:11-12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

God will make a roadway for the Hebrews to return to Israel. In Isaiah 11:15-16 below, Jesus dries up the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea (that is the tongue of the Egyptian sea)! He will also dry up the Nile, Euphrates, and Tigris Rivers in order to make a way for the resurrected Hebrews to cross over them! Please read my commentary titled “Aliyah Israel Arise Return” in my book “The Last Jews in Jerusalem”.

Isa 11:15-16 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. 16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

OK we have looked at the signs that happen before Jesus comes back to gather Israel. So what are the signs that happen before of Jesus comes back to gather his Church? Well there isn’t one specific event that triggers the Rapture but we are instructed to understand Old Testament prophecy in order to recognize the Tribulation as it approaches! We will know that the Rapture is near because the Rapture will happen before the Tribulation.

In 2 Thessalonians below, Paul is addressing the Church in Greece. Paul calls them brethren in Christ. So Paul is describing the Rapture of the Church in verse 1. The believers in Thessalonica were worried that the Tribulation was beginning. They were worried that the Rapture had not yet happened! Paul told them that two Old Testament prophecies must take place before Jerusalem’s great tribulation began. Those two events were the falling of Satan from heaven to earth and the revealing of the Antichrist with signs and wonders. I think that these two events may happen before the seven year Tribulation period begins. Since they had not yet happened Paul was assuring the Thessalonians that the Tribulation had not yet begun. Paul was assuring the Thessalonians that when the time came they would escape the terrible time of trouble on earth. Please read my commentary titled “The Fall of Satan and Rise of the Antichrist” in my book of the same title.

    2Th 2:1-3 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

In 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 below, Paul says that the church members in Thessalonica will be saved from the coming tribulation. The word “salvation” in verse 13 isn’t describing deliverance from sin, but it is describing physical rescue from God’s wrath on earth during the Tribulation.

2Th 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here are two other verses that indicate that Church age believers will escape from the wrath of the Tribulation period. These people have already been saved from sin. The term salvation here is the rescue from physical harm during the Tribulation on Earth.

Rom 5:7-10 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Rom 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Again physical rescue or “salvation” comes to people who already believe!

If you are still on earth when you see most of the old world nations at full scale war with each other and also hear of famines, and disease outbreaks, and earthquakes happening all over the world, then you are in trouble. You have entered the beginning stages of the Tribulation period. It is High Time to Awake!

    The falling away of Satan

    2Thesalonians 2:1-17

    By Craig C. White

It turns out that 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 is not about the apostasy of the Church or the removal of the Holy Spirit from the earth during the Tribulation period. It is about looking to the Old Testament prophets in order to recognize end time events!

Throughout history Israel has suffered at the hands of every ancient world empire. Israel will once again suffer at the hands of the next world empire. There is a terrible time of persecution coming upon Israel and most terribly upon Jerusalem. During this seven year period God will also pour out his wrath upon the entire world. This is called the Tribulation period. The Apostle Paul has promised Church age believers that they would escape this terrible time of God’s wrath on earth by being taken up into heaven. This event is called the Rapture.

1Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Ever since Jesus’ resurrection, believers in Christ have been saved from the penalty of sin which is death and hell. Christians will also be saved from the coming period of God’s wrath on earth.

Early Church members in the Grecian city of Thessalonica saw the persecution of Jews and Christians under the Roman Empire and wondered if this terrible time of trouble was coming upon them? They thought that the Tribulation was beginning and wondered why the Rapture hadn’t happened yet. Paul told the Thessalonians that the Tribulation was not about to happen because two Old Testament prophecies had not yet been fulfilled! Paul told them that Satan must fall from heaven to earth and that the Antichrist must be revealed before Jerusalem’s great tribulation could begin.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

The verse above describes the Resurrection of Christians and the Rapture of the Church.

The verse below describes the day of Christ. The day of Christ is the terrible period of Tribulation on earth.

2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Evidently there were some rumors circulating among the Thessalonian believers that the Tribulation was beginning. The Rapture was designed to save Christians from a terrible time of trouble on earth. So it follows that the Rapture must happen before the Tribulation begins. The Thessalonians were wondering why the Rapture had not yet happened. The Apostle Paul identified two Old Testament prophetic events that help us to recognize the the arrival of the Tribulation. They are the falling of Satan from heaven to earth and the revealing of the Antichrist as he sits in the temple at Jerusalem.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

Paul is not revealing new prophetic information here. He is reminding us about the prophecies of Isaiah (Isa 14:12) and Daniel (Dan 9:27).

Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

In 2Thessalonians 2:3 above, what is a falling away? Some teach that this references a worldwide “apostasy”; in other words “a turning away from God”. While there will be a major corrupting of world religion during the end time, I don’t think that it is referenced here. First the Bible teaches that none seek after God (Psa 14:1-3, Psa 53:2, Rom 3:10-18), and that no nation follows after him. So the world is already “fallen away” from God.

Second let’s take a look at the word and in the phrase “and that man of sin be revealed”. The word and usually means even, so, or then and sometimes means also or too. In our case and means then. So a falling away and that man of sin be revealed are not two accumulative events. Instead, the second event relies on the first. The second event can only happen because the first event happened. A falling away will happen then the man of sin is revealed.

God’s wrath won’t be poured out on earth until the man of sin is revealed. The man of sin can only be revealed because something or someone first falls away.

It is the same case in the phrase “the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him” in 2Thessalonians 2:1. In this case “and” also means “then”. Jesus Christ will come first; then because Jesus Christ came it will be possible for the Church to be gathered together to him. Jesus is able to gather us together only because he will first come to earth. The second event can only happen because the first event happened.

We still haven’t defined a falling away. Let’s look at the surrounding statements. Verses 3 & 4 are jam-packed with descriptions of the man of sin.

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Obviously verses 3 & 4 are describing the Antichrist. The Antichrist is a wicked man that is empowered by Satan. The Antichrist will invade Israel and sit in the temple at Jerusalem. He will then preside over the persecution of Israel during the Great Tribulation period.

So the Antichrist will sit in the temple before the day of God’s wrath on earth or at least before Israel’s great tribulation. Early Church members could recognize that this event hadn’t happened yet. So the time of great tribulation in Jerusalem had not yet come.

I don’t think that the Church will see the Antichrist as he sits in the temple but I am certain that the Church will see the Antichrist. The Antichrist will do many other identifiable things before he sits in the temple in Jerusalem.

In Matthew 24:43 the inhabitants of Judea are instructed to look for the Antichrist as he approaches. So the Antichrist will be identifiable before he sits in the temple at Jerusalem. I tell you that the Antichrist is already identifiable today! He is Turkish President Erdogan.

2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

I am certain that Paul had previously taught the church members in Thessalonica about the prophecies in Isaiah (Isa 14:12) and Daniel (Dan 9:27) that help to identify the Tribulation period. Jesus also explained these events in the gospels (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 17&21).

2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

The word withholdeth means to hold fast or stay. To stay means to prevent, to come first, or to delay.

Seeing the Antichrist sitting in the temple is the event that comes before or delays the Great Tribulation. But the term “a falling away” is describing the event that is delaying the revealing of the Antichrist. So the stay (or delay) of a falling away is preventing the Antichrist from being revealed. Satan’s fall precedes the revealing of the Antichrist!

2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

The mystery of iniquity is simply the working of wickedness in the world. Specifically it is the working of Satan’s plan to make himself God of this world. Every past world empire has been configured by Satan. There is one more world empire coming. World empires are Satan’s attempt to make himself the god of this world. Things will get much worse when the Antichrist is revealed. The identity of the word he is in question here. Whoever he is, prevents (or delays) the Antichrist from being revealed until he is taken out of the way. Most Christians read this verse and immediately think that the word he refers to the Holy Spirit being taken away in the raptured Church. I don’t think so. The word he is still referring to someone who has yet to have a falling away! The words letteth and let are the same word as withholdeth in verse 6. The word taken can also be translated as “fall”. So he prevents the Antichrist from being revealed until he falls!!! The Holy Spirit is not taken out of the way before the Antichrist can be revealed. The Holy Spirit is not taken out of the way at all. People are saved during the Tribulation period (Rev 7:9-14), and their spirits are in heaven! Jesus said that the Holy Spirit is active in the salvation of a person. So the Holy Spirit is active on earth during the Tribulation period.

John 3:5 “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God”.

2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

So after he falls, the Antichrist will be revealed. Jesus will kill the Antichrist when he returns to the earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation period. This is not to be confused with Jesus’ coming in the air to gather his Church before the Tribulation period begins (which is described in verse 1 at the top of our study).

2Th 2:9-10 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

This verse is still talking about the Antichrist. However another person is mentioned. That is Satan. BINGO! We finally have the last piece of our puzzle! The identity of he is Satan. The phrase “a falling away” in 2Thessalonians 2:3 is describing Satan’s fall out of heaven. So Satan will fall from heaven then the Antichrist will be revealed on earth!

In 2Thessalonians 2:3 the original Greek word for “falling away” is “apostasia”. Apostasia means to divorce, or to move something away in order to disassociate from it. In our case Satan is moved away from heaven because he has no place there anymore. The Antichrist is a man who is empowered by Satan after Satan falls to earth.

The idea that the Holy Spirit will be taken away during the Tribulation period is not taught anywhere else in scripture but the idea that Satan will be thrown out of heaven is taught in both the Old and New Testaments. Did you know that there will be a war in heaven and God will throw Satan out?

Rev 12:7-12 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

When the devil is cast out of heaven he will empower the Antichrist to do false miracles and deceive all who have rejected God.

Do you mean that Satan can enter heaven? Yep he can now, but soon he will be thrown out for good. He will be thrown to earth. That’s why we need to be warned to look out for the man that Satan will empower! Today Satan travels between heaven and earth. He also accuses believers of committing sin. Job chapter 2 illustrates Satan’s travels between heaven and earth.

Job 2:1-2 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. 2 And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

There are two events that must happen before Jerusalem is overrun by its enemies. These two events are the fall of Satan from heaven to earth and the Antichrist sitting in the temple at Jerusalem.

The revealing of the Antichrist on earth is the sign of the Tribulation. I think that there is already definite evidence of who the Antichrist is and present day circumstances exist that will allow his rise to infamy.

Church age believers in Jesus Christ will not suffer through the Tribulation period on earth. As Christians we are looking forward to Jesus Christ coming in the air to raise the dead and catch up the living into heaven! Alleluia!!!

2Th 2:11-12 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Because people have rejected God’s love for them, and have rejected God’s son sent to die for them (Joh 3:16), God will send them strong delusion. The word delusion means “a straying from orthodoxy or piety”. All people who have rejected the truth of salvation by Jesus’ blood will be persuaded of their own righteousness by another way. This of course is true of all false religions; but I think that it may apply especially to Islam. I think that the next world empire will be a revived Islamic Caliphate.

I hope you believe the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ’s blood shed for you.

Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

2Th 2:15-17 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

In verse 15 above, the Apostle Paul instructs the believers in Thessalonica to “hold the traditions which ye have been taught”. Paul is referencing the Old Testament prophets Isaiah and Daniel to help identify two events that happen during the Tribulation. The fall of Satan from heaven and the revealing of the Antichrist as he sits in the temple in Jerusalem. The first day of Jerusalem’s Great Tribulation will be marked by the Antichrist sitting in the temple in Jerusalem (Mat 24:21).

Most Bible teachers think that the Great Tribulation will begin three and one half years into the seven year Tribulation period. Christians living during the Church age can be assured that they will not suffer through the time of the God’s wrath on earth. Most Bible teachers also sat that the seven year Tribulation period will begin with the signing of a seven year term security agreement between the Antichrist, Israel, and perhaps other world powers (Dan 9:27). Church age believers will not be on earth to see the signing of this treaty.

The world is prepared for the Antichrist. Christians should be prepared for the day of Christ. We must look to the Old Testament prophets in order to recognize prophetic end time events that are increasingly happening today. Each one of us must make certain that we possess a sure and steadfast faith in the salvation of soul and body that Jesus has wrought. We must also be prepared so that we are not deceived by the offer of an unorthodox way to reconciliation with God (2Th 2:11-12).

The following verses were written to Jewish believers. They also apply to all believers in Jesus Christ especially those living in present day.

Heb 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Now let me see if I have this straight. Jesus will return in the air then Church age believers will be resurrected from the dead and taken into heaven. Satan will be thrown out of heaven and fall to earth then the Antichrist will be revealed. Israel should know that the Great Tribulation will not begin until the man of sin (or the Antichrist) sits in the temple in Jerusalem. Wow, I probably should have said that in the first place. Amen.

We will be changed at the last trump!

But not at the seventh trumpet

    1Corinthians 15:52

    By Craig C. White

A lot of Christians equate the last trump in 1Corinthians 15:52 with the seventh trumpet judgement in Revelation 10:7. This assumption sometimes leads them to conclude that the Rapture will happen during the Tribulation period.

I don’t think that the last trump in 1Corinthians 15:52 correlates at all with the trumpet judgements of Revelation. The trumpet calls serve different purposes. The trumpet call in 1Corinthians is a call to gather the Church. The seven trumpet calls in Revelation are announcements of judgement on the earth. I think that the trumpet call in 1Corinthians 15:52 is a separate trumpet call than the seven trumpet calls in Revelation. The word trump is different than the word trumpet. I think that the last trump in 1Corinthians 15:52 is the last note of God’s trumpet that is played while gathering his Church. The dead in Christ will rise while the trumpet is sounded. When the trumpet call ends then those Christians that were alive when the resurrection began will be changed!

1Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

    Welcome to the End Times

    Welcome to the End Times

The Resurrection and Rapture, and the Tribulation is coming!

    By Craig C. White

Welcome to the end times. You’re late! Just to be certain that we are all aware; the Antichrist is now identifiable. The one sign that Jesus will give to Israel that proves that he is truly their God is set to happen any day. Jesus Christ is about to come with a trumpet call to raise the dead and to take away Christians. Jesus is coming. Not in five years but very very soon!

There is a terrible time of trouble coming on the earth. The Bible calls this seven year long period the Tribulation. The Tribulation period was designed by God to chastise the nation of Israel for their rebellion. During the Tribulation Israel will be overrun by its enemies. Many Jews will be killed or captured, and many others will flee to the Jordanian wilderness for refuge. Jerusalem will suffer the worst. At the end of the Tribulation period Israel will remember that their God is faithful. The God of Israel will never leave them or forsake them. He will be their God forever.

The Tribulation period is also a time when God will judge the nations. It is a time of terrible wars, massive earthquakes, raging seas, drought, starvation, and tremendous numbers of deaths, great darkness, and much more. Luckily God has made a way for individuals to escape from suffering through the Tribulation period.

The Apostle Paul told the Christians in Greece that they would be taken away to heaven before the Tribulation period began on earth (2Thesalonians 2). This is known as the Rapture of the Church. Paul told the early Christians that the Tribulation couldn’t begin until Satan fell from heaven and then empowered a man on earth called the Antichrist. The Antichrist would rule over the next world empire and torment the nation of Israel. Paul said that before the Tribulation began the Antichrist would be revealed on earth. Before the Tribulation began believers in Jesus Christ would be taken away up into heaven. So identifying the man who will be the Antichrist would be the end times sign that the Rapture is about to happen!

How will we be able to identify the man known as the Antichrist? There are several specific things that the Bible tells us to look for. One of the most obvious signs is that he will claim to be God. Today I know of one world leader who is claiming to be God. Turkish President Erdogan along with his supporters has now officially declared that Erdogan is God. As a matter of fact if you drive down the streets of Turkey you will see giant banners inviting you to join in the celebration of Erdogan’s holy birthday! The Turkish people now sing a song that claims that “Erdogan always gets his power from Allah!” But wait, there are several more end times signs that Turkish President Erdogan fulfills!

In Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39 we are told of two invasions into Israel led by the “chief prince” or primary governor of Turkey. President Erdogan fulfills that description. He was elected as President of Turkey in December 2014 and served as Prime Minister before that since 2002.

The Bible says that the Antichrist will appear with lying wonders. That means that he will appear to do miracles but they won’t be legitimate. Turkish President Erdogan has performed fake healings during campaign rallies. The Bible also tells us about an image that speaks. Erdogan recently gave a speech to his supporters as a nine foot tall hologram. No kidding.

The Antichrist will rule over the next World Empire and attack Jerusalem. Erdogan has vowed to do both of these things. His supporters say that Turkey is the only legitimate head of the next Islamic Caliphate.

Another thing that the Antichrist will do is to invade Syria and destroy its capital city of Damascus. He will then lead his troops into Israel. Erdogan has already vowed to overthrow Syrian President Assad in Damascus. Also every nation that Ezekiel 38:5 says will invade Israel is now fighting in Syria! I don’t know if these invasions will happen before the Rapture or before the Tribulation but if we do see Turkey invade Syria then we ought to be absolutely certain that Erdogan is the Antichrist. And if he is indeed the Antichrist then we can be certain that the Rapture and the Tribulation are about to happen!

During the Tribulation God will raise up a rotten ruler in Israel. The Prophet Zechariah calls him the idol shepherd. We have all probably been comforted by the reelection of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but I am afraid that Netanyahu will not hold onto his authority for very long. World powers like the United States, United Nations, France, and others have all shifted into high gear to create a Palestinian State inside of Israel without Prime Minister Netanyahu’s consent. There now exists a worldwide movement to get rid of Benjamin Netanyahu. A rotten Israeli ruler is another sign of the end times.

There is yet another sign during the end times. It is a sign to the nation of Israel that Jesus Christ is truly their God. It is also a warning to Israel that their time of Tribulation is about to begin. This sign is the flooding of Mosul in northern Iraq and the plundering of the city by its enemies. The Prophet Nahum tells us all about it, and the news says that the Mosul dam is feeble. So keep your eyes on Mosul!

The Tribulation is a terrible time of trouble on earth. You don’t want to suffer through it. All signs point towards its soon beginning. Call on the Lord Jesus Christ while you still can and be saved from your sins and escape the seven year long Tribulation period on earth.
