Watch watch watch Jesus is coming!

Watch watch watch
Jesus is coming!
By Craig C. White
Whether you think that Russia is identified as Gog and Magog in Ezekiel chapter 38 or perhaps you have rightly identified Turkey as being Gog and Magog; every nation that is listed in Ezekiel chapter 38 is fighting in Syria today. So all of us ought to be on our toes as we watch events unfold in Syria. On that we can agree. We are all in this together!
Ezekiel chapter 38 describes Turkey as they lead Iran, Libya, and Sudan into Israel. All of these nations are fighting in Syria today. Jeremiah 49:23-27 describes an attack on the cities of Hamah and Tell Rifaat in northwestern Syria and then the destruction of Damascus. The Turkish Army is fighting its way towards Tell Rifaat now. So it is evident that Turkey will destroy Damascus. Damascus is only thirty miles from the Golan Heights of Israel. So after Turkey destroys Damascus then they will most likely lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into the Golan Heights.
We are now watching the Turkish Army fighting near Hamah and Tell Rifaat as Jeremiah 49:23 says. We can watch as they near Damascus. From there we can observe if they turn south towards Israel. If they get that far then we know that Ezekiel chapter 38 tells us that God will fight against them with fire and brimstone, earthquakes, and torrential rain. Nahum 1:3-8 describes a similar scenario. Nahum makes it more clear that this is the Lord coming in a whirlwind to the Golan Heights. Nahum also says that the Lord knows and protects those people who trust in him. It is a distinct possibility that Jesus will return to take away his Church when the Turkish led forces enter the Golan Heights of northern Israel. So watch!
While we are watching, watch my video!

Conqueror of Syria is the Antichrist!
Conqueror of Syria is the Antichrist!
The Antichrist is compared to the Assyrian kings
By Craig C. White
The Bible compares the Antichrist with the ancient Assyrian kings. The Assyrians conquered Syria and then invaded northern Israel. A few years later they invaded southern Israel.
In Jeremiah 49:23-27 Syria is invaded from its northwestern border near Turkey. Then Damascus is destroyed. Turkey will invade Syria, destroy Damascus, and then turn southward to invade northern Israel just like the Assyrians did in 734 BC. These events help to identify the Antichrist and are a prelude to Armageddon.
The Turkish Army has already entered Syria. Turkey President Erdogan has already called on every Islamic nation to take the Golan Heights away from Israel. Every nation that is mentioned in Ezekiel chapter 38 is today fighting in Syria. According to Ezekiel Turkey will lead Libya, Iran, and Sudan into Israel. The Free Syrian Army is comprised mostly of Libyans. Iranian forces are already shelling the Golan Heights on the Israel border.
Turkey President Erdogan has vowed to remove Syria President Assad from power in Damascus. Erdogan is the Antichrist. The Turkish Army is about to enter Syria in full force. Just like the ancient Assyrians, the conqueror of Syria is the Antichrist!

I wonder if Israel will ask Turkey for help to fight Syria in the Golan Heights?
I wonder if Israel will ask Turkey for help to fight Syria in the Golan Heights?
By Craig C. White
Things are heating up between Israel and Syrian forces. Several military strikes have been exchanged on the Golan Heights.
History may be repeating itself concerning Israel. Around 740 BC Syria made war against Israel’s southern kingdom of Judah. Ahaz the king of Judah asked Assyria for help. Assyria attacked Syria and conquered Damascus. A few years latter Assyria attacked northern Israel. All of this is recorded in 2Kings 16-17.
Here is a list of actors in this historic drama from the northern most kingdom southward. During this time the land of Israel was divided into two kingdoms; Israel to the north and Judah to the south.
Tiglathpileser king of Assyria
Rezin king of Syria
Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel
Ahaz king of Judah2Kings 16:5 Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.
2Kings 16:7 So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.
2Kings 16:9 And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.
Just a few years later Assyria attacked northern Israel. By this time Shalmaneser was king of Assyria.
2Kings 17:5 Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
While 2Kings 16-17 are not viewed as prophetic verses, a similar scenario is presenting itself today. Today Syria and Israel are fighting in the Golan Heights. Could it be that Israel will ask another far northern kingdom for help against Syria?
Jeremiah 49:23-27 describes an end time invasion into Syria coming from the Turkish border. Afterwards Damascus is destroyed.
Ezekiel chapter 38 describes a Turkish led invasion into Israel that seems to parallel the Assyrian invasion into northern Israel in 734 BC. Every nation that is listed in Ezekiel chapter 38 is now fighting in Syria.
I wonder if Israel will ask Turkey for help to fight Syria in the Golan Heights? I am already certain that the Turkish Army will invade Syria in force and destroy Damascus. I am also certain that Turkey will lead an invasion into Israel. In the Bible the Antichrist is compared to the ancient Assyrian kings. That’s because the Antichrist will do the same things that the Assyrian kings did. He will invade Syria, conquer Damascus, and then invade northern Israel. That is only the beginning. I am convinced that Turkey President Erdogan is the modern day fulfillment of “the Assyrian”.

Turkish President Erdogan is absolutely the Antichrist

Turkish President Erdogan is absolutely the Antichrist
By Craig C. White
Turkish President Erdogan is absolutely the Antichrist. I have known it for ten years. Erdogan is the chief prince among the provinces of Turkey as described in Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39. Turkey will lead the Islamic nations into Israel.
Ezekiel 38:1-2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
Erdogan was officially revealed as the Antichrist by sitting in the Hagia Sophia Cathedral exalting himself above Christ according to 2Thessalonians2:4.
2Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
The Bible says that the last world empire will be reestablished during the end time. So we ought to be alerted when we see that world empire reemerge. For many years Turkish President Erdogan has been telling the world that he intends to revive the Ottoman Empire with himself at the head. It is simple to see that a revived Ottoman Empire will oppress Israel during the end time. Erdogan is recognized by most of Islam as their promised Mahdi. As the unchallenged ruler of this world empire Turkish President Erdogan can easily be identified as the Antichrist.
According to Revelation 17:10 the eighth world empire comes out of the seventh. There have been seven world empires. The Ottoman Empire was the seventh. A revived Ottoman Empire is the end time empire that will oppress Israel.
Revelation 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
Erdogan is honoring the god of Ottoman conquest in his palace in Ankara (Daniel 11:38).
Daniel 11:38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
Erdogan has built the tabernacles (mosques) of his palace between the seas on the Bosporus in Istanbul Turkey (Daniel 11:45).
Daniel 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Erdogan does not regard women’s rights (Daniel11:37).
Daniel 11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
The Turkish army is in northwestern Syria ready to attack Hamah and Tell Rifaat as described in Jeremiah 49:23-27. Erdogan is the Assyrian. He will conquer Syria and then invade northern Israel just like the ancient Assyrian kings did. Turkey will destroy Damascus and then invade northern Israel. Jesus will return to stop them and to gather his Church.
Jeremiah 49:23-27 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. 24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. 25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy! 26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts. 27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.
The end time is now. This is not the time to scoff at the revealing of Bible prophecy. It is High Time to Awake.

Psalm 83 War – From Judah to Jordan to Jesus

Judean wilderness east of Jerusalem toward Jordan.
Photo by Ian W. ScottNote: The path that sweeps across the illustration is an infamous trail. This may be the route that the people of Judea take while fleeing into the mountains (Mark 13:14).
Psalm 83 War
Hidden in a secret place!
By Craig C. White
https://www.spreaker.com/embed/player/standard?episode_id=8084463&autoplay=false
It is very popular these days to say that the Psalm 83 war will happen soon. Well it will happen pretty soon, but not before the Rapture of the Church, and not before the Great Tribulation. It will happen during the Great Tribulation. Psalm 83 is short and simple. The key to understanding it is to recognize who “thy hidden ones” are in verse 3. They are Jews from Judea (region south of Jerusalem) who have fled into the wilderness during the second half of the Great Tribulation. The wilderness is the mountainous region of Jordan east of Jerusalem.
Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Psalm 83 is a request for God’s help. It probably represents the Judean refugee’s call for defense at the end of the Tribulation. Jesus Christ will come through Jordan defeating Israel’s enemies (read Revelation Wrath Path). In the verse below, Edom and Bozrah are in todays Jordan.
Isa 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
Psalm 83 has four sections; God, be not still, Counsel Council, List of enemies, and Do unto others as you have done unto them before!
God, be not still!
Psalm 83:1 A Song or Psalm of Asaph. Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
The word not is used three times in the opening verse of Psalm 83. The Hebrew word translated not here means not!
This is a prayer that God would not allow the people of Israel to be killed by their enemies. Also that God would not fail to devise an offense against Israel’s enemies. And that God would not be idle while Israel’s enemies attack. In other words, Lord now is the time for action!
Psalm 83:2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Israel’s enemies hate Israel. The enemies of Israel are the adversaries of God. They are making a loud sound. They are enraged. They are screaming to make war on the Judean refugees. They hate God personally. The word translated head in the verse above is the Hebrew word rosh. Rosh means chief or primary. It probably refers to a leader. Israel’s enemies have magnified their leader. They think that they can fight against God because their ruler is supreme!
Counsel Council
Psalm 83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
God’s enemies have assembled together in a secret meeting and have devised a cunning plan against the nation of Israel to utterly destroy them. They have deliberated together to kill God’s “hidden ones”.
In verse 3 above, the term “hidden ones” means to hide by covering over. The Judean refugees are protected in mountainous dens in Jordan. They are kept in a secret place until Jesus Christ returns!
In Isaiah 16 below, God allows the Jews escaping Judah to take refuge in Moab which is in today’s Jordan east of the Dead Sea. This verse is applied to the time just before Jesus Christ takes his place on his throne in Jerusalem.
Isa 16:3-5 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth. 4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land. 5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
In the middle of the Great Tribulation Jews in Judea will flee to the mountains or wilderness. Some of the people of Judea (region around Jerusalem) will flee to the mountains where God will sustain them for three and a half years (Mat 24:15-16, Luke 21:21-22). I think that this place is on the east side of the Jordan River near Jericho and Mt. Nebo, where Israel entered the land after the exodus. It is also the place where ravens fed Elijah as he hid (1Ki 17:3). It is also the place where King David and his men fled out of Jerusalem from Absalom his son when he took over the kingdom of Israel (2Sa 17:22).
Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Note: In the verse above “Wings of a great eagle” refers to God’s supernatural help given to Israel in time of flight. This idiom is applied to Israel during the exodus in Exo 19:4. It is also applied to Israel’s deliverance from Jerusalem at the end of the Great Tribulation in Isa 40:31. It is applied here to the people in Judea just before Israel is overrun with its enemies during the Great Tribulation period.
Below; Zechariah tells us that Jesus will save “the tents of Judah” before he saves the city of Jerusalem!
Zec 12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
It may be that “the tents of Judah” (above) are those of Judea who fled to the Jordanian mountains. They have been living there for 3 ½ years protected by God.
Psalm 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. 5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
During their meeting, Israel’s enemies plan to destroy the nation of Israel. They have deliberated together and all agree. They have made a pact with themselves. This is describing a Middle Eastern conference were a contract is written that all nations agree to. They will completely eradicate the nation of Israel.
List of enemies
Psalm 83:6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; 7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
This list of Israel’s enemies is mostly describing the nation of Jordan. Edom is in today’s Jordan. Ishmaelites settled Saudi Arabia, but I don’t think that Saudi Arabia is represented here. Ishmaelites also settled in today’s southern Jordan. Hagarenes settled in today’s Jordan, There is a Gebal in Lebanon, but this Gebal is in today’s Jordan. Ammon settled in today’s Jordan, Amalek probably lived just west of today’s Jordan. The Philistines lived on Israel’s Mediterranean coast. I think they represent Lebanon here, along with Tyre. Assur is ancient Assyria. Today it is best represented by northern Iraq. So Lebanon and Iraq agree to help the children of Lot. Lot’s children were Moab and Ammon. Like I said before, they both settled in today’s Jordan.
Psalm 83 War Map
So Psalm 83 is describing a Jordanian conference where Lebanon and Iraq agree to help Jordan eliminate the Jewish refugees who have fled from southern Israel into the mountainous wilderness of western Jordan.
Do unto others as you have done unto them before!
Psalm 83:9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: 10 Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. 11 Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: 12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. 13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. 14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; 15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. 16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD. 17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: 18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
The verses above describe armies destroyed by Israel while led by Gideon (Judges 4 & 8). The bloodshed of these battles starts in the valley of Megiddo and ends in western Jordan.
Psalm 83 describes a treaty to eliminate the Judean refugees. Jesus Christ will personally pour out his wrath on Jordan’s armies. He will save the Jewish people who are hiding in the mountainous region of western Jordan.
The Psalm 83 war is not the next prophetic event on the end time calendar. The invasion of Syria’s northwestern cities and the Destruction of Damascus by Turkey is the next event to look for. After Turkey destroys Damascus then they will lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into Israel. Read my commentaries The nations are disquieted over Syria and Magog Made Easy.

Jeconiah a cursed king
Jeconiah a cursed king
Only Jesus can be the Messiah
By Craig C. White
King David was a descendant of the tribe of Judah. God said that the Messiah would come out of the tribe of Judah. God also promised King David that his descendant would be king over all the earth.
Gen 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
The name Shiloh means “the one to whom it belongs”. In this case he is the one to whom the scepter belongs. The scepter is the staff of the eternal king of earth namely the Messiah.
Psa 132:11 The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
However the royal line of Judah ran into a BIG problem around 590 BC. The Hebrew King Jeconiah (or Coniah) didn’t listen to God’s warnings about Israel’s disobedience. So the nation of Israel was taken away captive to Babylon. Because of King Jeconiah’s wickedness God cursed the royal line of King David. No descendant of King Jeconiah could ever sit on the throne again!
Jeremiah 22:28-30 Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not? 29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD. 30 Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
So the royal lineage of the tribe of Judah was cursed by God in King Jeconiah. Jesus’ father Joseph belonged to the tribe of Judah through David and Jeconiah. Jesus’ mother Mary was a descendent of King David’s son Nathan. Only though a virgin birth and the adoption into Joseph’s family could the prophecy be fulfilled that the Messiah would be a descendant of King David and belong to the royal line of Judah.
Jesus Christ’s virgin birth makes him the only person who ever lived who can fulfill the prophecy that the Messiah would be a descendant of King David and still belong to the royal line of Judah past the cursed King Jeconiah.
Isaiah 9:6 below reflects Jesus’ birth and adoption into the tribe of Judah’s royal lineage.
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The Assyrian is the Antichrist!
The Assyrian is the Antichrist!
Halfway to Armageddon
Verse by verse through Isaiah 10
By Craig C. White
Assyria was a world empire. Its capital city was Nineveh, located in the same area as northern Iraq. The ruins of Nineveh can still be seen today across the Tigris River from the modern day city of Mosul.
In 734 BC Assyria conquered Syria and then turned southward into northern Israel. Assyria took captives from both Syria and Israel.
Assyria invaded Israel a second time in 701 BC. This time the Assyrian army made it all the way into southern Israel just outside the city limits of Jerusalem.
Two Assyrian kings led these invasions. The first invasion in 734 BC went into Syria and northern Israel and was led by the Assyrian King Tiglath-pileser. The second invasion in 701 BC went into southern Israel and was led by the Assyrian King Sennacherib. In Bible prophecy these two kings are often referred to as “the Assyrian”. The Assyrian is also a term that applies to the Antichrist because he will do the same things that the original Assyrian kings did.
God used the Assyrian to judge the disobedient nation of Israel. God will again call on a northern invader to judge Israel.
Isaiah chapter 10 predicts the wickedness of the ancient Israeli leadership, the overthrow of the nation of Israel by the Assyrian King Sennacherib and finally God’s restoration of Israel.
But there is a catch! Immediately after the Assyrian invades Israel in Isaiah chapter 10 we are introduced to the Messiah on Earth! That is to say, Jesus Christ sets up his everlasting throne in Jerusalem. In other words this passage also predicts a future event. The Assyrian will once again invade Israel, and then Jesus Christ will come back to Earth to defeat the Assyrian and to rule forever!
OK now listen up; the future invader of Israel called the Assyrian in Isaiah 10 is the same person that is commonly known as the Antichrist! The Antichrist will persecute Israel during the coming seven year Tribulation period just as the Assyrian persecuted Israel long ago.
But wait there is more! I think that Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39 tell us that the primary ruler of Turkey will lead an invasion into Israel in the end time just like Assyria did long ago. As a matter of fact, I think that Ezekiel predicts two separate invasions, both led by the primary ruler of Turkey. Also like the Assyrian invasions of old, the future invasions of Israel will happen in two similar but separate battles.
So the Assyrian is the Antichrist! Also the Assyrian is the primary leader of Turkey! Therefore the primary leader of Turkey is the Antichrist! Is this too much for you?
Today the President of Turkey is Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He hates Israel! Today the Turkish army is on the Syrian border. If President Erdogan leads Turkey into Syria and then turns south into Israel then this scenario has begun!
The Bible compares the Antichrist to the ancient Assyrian kings NOT because the Antichrist will be from Assyria!
God called the future invader of Israel the Assyrian because he will persecute Israel in much the same way as the Assyrian kings did in 734 BC and again in 701 BC. Remember that there were two separate Assyrian kings that led two separate invasions into Israel. There may very well also be two separate Turkish leaders who will lead two separate invasions into Israel in the future! The Turkish leader who leads the second invasion is the Antichrist!
What I am saying is that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the Antichrist!
The ancient Assyrian invasions give us a clue to future events. Like I said before Ezekiel 38 predicts one future battle and Ezekiel 39 predicts another similar battle. I think that the battle described in Ezekiel 38 will be led by the primary governor of Turkey and may begin shortly. In this case Turkish President Erdogan would fulfill the role of the Assyrian. In Ezekiel 38 he is also known as Magog. The battle that is described in Ezekiel 39 will also be led by the primary governor of Turkey and is the same as the battle of Armageddon (Rev 16:12 – 21 and Rev 19:17-18). The battle of Armageddon happens at the end of the seven year Tribulation period. Turkish President Erdogan will again fulfill the role of the Assyrian during the battle of Armageddon.
In Ezekiel 38 God asks “Are you the person that I have predicted would attack Israel?” So God is asking us the question.
Ezekiel 38:17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
In Ezekiel 39 God tells us that “Yes this is the attack that I predicted!” So God affirms that this is the battle of the end time. Remember that Ezekiel chapter 39 describes another similar but latter battle than does Ezekiel chapter 38.
Ezekiel 39:8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
Now just so that we all have a better understanding of who the Assyrian is in Bible prophecy let’s look at Isaiah chapter 10. Remember that these verses apply to an ancient Assyrian invasion into Israel as well as another still future invasion. It is important to note that these verses apply to the Assyrian invasion of 701 BC led by the Assyrian king named Sennacherib. These verses also apply to the battle of Armageddon which happens at the end of the seven year Tribulation period. Both of these battles are the second battle of their day that is led by the Assyrian.
Isaiah 10:1 Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;2To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
The verses above describe the Israeli leadership of the day. In the future a wicked Israeli leader will come to power. He is called “The Idol Shepherd” in Zechariah 11:16-17. I know that most people think that the Idol shepherd is the same as the Antichrist but he isn’t. The Idol shepherd will be an Israeli leader who will not take care of his people. Read my commentary titled “Woe to the Idol Shepherd” in my eBook “Israel’s Beacon of Hope”.
Isaiah 10:3 And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
The wicked leadership of Israel will be overrun by the armies of its enemies. They have despised God’s authority and will have nowhere to turn during the time of their terrible distress. Just a note: there will be several secondary idol shepherds ruling in Israel during the Tribulation (Eze 34:2-8). Please read my commentary titled “Who is a Shepherd” in my eBook “Israel’s Beacon of Hope”.
Isaiah 10:4 Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. 5O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.
Israel’s rulers will be killed in the invasion. Notice that prisoners will also be taken. Israel will hope that the invasion will fall short but the armies of Israel’s enemies will persist. God will again use the Assyrian as a tool to judge the nation of Israel.
Isaiah 10:6I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
The hypocritical nation described in the passage above is Israel. At that time Israel will be again practicing temple sacrifice but their hearts will be far from God. Their leaders will oppress the poor.
Isaiah 10:7 Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few. 8 For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings? 9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus? 10 As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria; 11 Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
Assyrian King Sennacherib is speaking here. So is the future invader of Israel. He is recalling previous victories over Syria and northern Israel. The city of Calno is near Aleppo, Syria’s largest city. Carchemish is on the northeastern Syrian border. Hamath is between Aleppo and Damascus. Arpad is just north of Aleppo. As you know Damascus is the capital city of Syria and is located near Syria’s southern border near Israel. Samaria is in the northern half of Israel. All of these cities still exist today. All of these cities were conquered by the Assyrian King Tiglath-pileser in 734 BC. All of these cities will be conquered by the Assyrian that is still to come. So if Turkish President Erdogan leads an invasion into Syria, destroys Damascus, and then invades Israel we are half way to Armageddon. Perhaps then you can get your pastor to read this commentary!
Please notice in verse 11 that this invader has yet to conquer Jerusalem. But he is boasting that he is about to overthrow Jerusalem.
Isaiah 10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
God will complete his judgment of Israel. God allowed Assyrian King Sennacherib to get just outside of Jerusalem but didn’t allow Sennacherib to destroy the city (Isa 37:36). In the future, the same scenario will take place. Just as it looks like all is lost for the last remaining Jews in Jerusalem Jesus Christ himself will return with great vengeance on Israel’s enemies! In the end God will punish the invader of Israel. Please read my eBook “Israel’s Beacon of Hope”.
Isaiah 10:13 For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: 14 And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
The Assyrian will say that he has conquered Israel by his own hand. God will remind him that he was successful only as an instrument in God’s hand.
Isaiah 10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.
Shall a man say that he is greater than God? God uses men to do as he wishes.
Isaiah 10:16 Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire. 17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day; 18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth. 19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
In the verses above, Jesus Christ will destroy the kingdom of the Assyrian (aka the Antichrist) at his second coming. The fire of Israel is Jesus Christ’s everlasting rule on Earth. Christ’s earthly kingdom centered in Jerusalem will consume the final gentile world empire like a fire. Earthly kingdoms will now all come under the authority of God.
Isaiah 10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
At last the Jews will be free from world oppression and persecution and will finally be faithful to their God!
Isaiah 10:21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God. 22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
The Jews will return to Israel. During the Tribulation period many Jews will take refuge in Jordan and many others will also be taken captive into different countries. After Jesus destroys the Assyrian at his coming the surviving Jews will return to Israel along with all faithful Old Testament Jews (including Isaiah) who will be resurrected from the dead at that time (Dan 12:13)! Please read “Aliyah Israel Arise Return” in my eBook “Israel’s Beacon of Hope”.
God has determined to apply a certain amount of judgment upon Israel (Dan 9:24). It will one day be completed and then replaced with righteousness and justice. God’s predetermined judgment is called the consumption here in Isaiah.
The Tribulation period is not only designated for Israel’s judgment. But there is a terrible time of God’s judgment coming upon the entire world as well!
Isa 28:22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole Earth.
Isaiah 10:23 For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land. 24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt. 25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
God will allow Israel’s time of trouble to last only for a short time.
Isaiah 10:26 And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt. 27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
Just as God delivered the Jews from the Egyptians during the Exodus, God will deliver Israel from the Assyrian.
Isaiah 10:28 He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages: 29 They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled. 30 Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth. 31 Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.
The passage above maps out the route that the Assyrian will take on his way to attack Jerusalem. All of these towns are north of Jerusalem. The Assyrian is approaching Jerusalem from the north. He is moving closer and closer town by town. Assyrian King Sennacherib took this route on his way to destroy Jerusalem in 701 BC. In the future invasion of Israel the Antichrist may very well take this same route.
Isaiah 10:32 As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
Nob is north of the Mount of Olives just outside the city limits of Jerusalem. Assyrian King Sennacherib camped out there with his armies the night before he was to attack Jerusalem. Overnight, God wiped out his army while they slept (Isaiah 37:36). I suspect that a very similar scenario will occur when Jesus returns to defend Israel.
Psa 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Isaiah 10:33 Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled. 34 And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
In Bible prophecy a tree with over spreading boughs is often used to describe a large kingdom or empire. Lebanon was known for its large cedar trees. So the actual country of Lebanon isn’t pictured here, but instead the final gentile world empire that will exist during the time of the Tribulation period. Jesus will return and cut down the final gentile world empire!
That is the end of Isaiah chapter 10 but please notice the first verse of Isaiah chapter 11 below.
Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
A rod is the scepter of a ruling king. Jesse was King David’s father. A branch is a descendant. So a descendant of King David will rule on Earth. Isaiah is proclaiming that after the time of Israel’s trouble Jesus Christ will come to Earth to rule forever.
So the Assyrian is the Antichrist. The ruler of Turkey will conquer Syria and then invade northern Israel just like the Assyrian of old did. Therefore an end time ruler of Turkey is the Antichrist!
The Turkish army is amassed along the Syrian border today. If Turkey attacks Syria it may then turn south to invade Israel. If these things happen then we are all half way to Armageddon.
It is High Time to Awake!

The Last Jews in Jerusalem

The Second Greatest Human Anguish
Isaiah 26:1
By Craig C. White
Note: Illustration is of a model of Herod’s Temple in the Israel Museum of Jerusalem.
During the Great Tribulation a small band of Jews will be holed up on Mount Zion in Jerusalem. While most of their countrymen have been captured or killed; this small band will stand as the last beacon of hope that God will restore their city and nation. The armies of their enemies will finally flood into the city. As the last few remaining Jews in Jerusalem pray for deliverance they will look up and behold their God!
The greatest human anguish was Jesus’ cup of suffering and death on the cross. Before Jesus was taken prisoner he prayed.
Luk 22:41-44 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. 43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Jesus was strengthened by an angel because he was in the form of frail humanity. The suffering before him no other person has ever born. Nor could any other person ever bear. Jesus was beaten so badly that he was not recognizable as a man (Isa 52:14). Then he was hung on a roman cross until he died, bearing God’s punishment for the sins of the world. On the road to Golgotha to be crucified he turned to the women by the way and told them not to weep for him, but to weep for the suffering that was to come upon them.
Luk 23:27-31 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. 28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. 30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. 31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
There is a terrible time of judgment and suffering coming upon the land of Israel; more terrible than the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 A.D.; more terrible than the holocaust.
Mat 24:21-22 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
The Tribulation begins in the whole land of Israel, it becomes Great Tribulation in the city of Jerusalem, it then culminates on Mount Zion. Two thirds of the people in all the land of Israel will die (Zec 13:8). Then half of the people in Jerusalem will be taken captive (Zec 14:2).
Zechariah 13:8-9 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. 9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
Zec 14:1-2 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Anyone who tries to flee Jerusalem will be captured (Isa 30:16). Then the residue of the city will huddle together on mount Zion (which is called the hill of Ophel or the “City of David”) in Jerusalem and wait for their redeemer.
Isa 30:15-18 For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not. 16 But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift. 17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill. 18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. 19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
The debate continues about the origin and meaning of the name Jerusalem. The best deduction is that it means “fortress or stronghold of peace”. Mount Zion will be the last stronghold. When Jesus returns in power and glory Jerusalem will be the capital of peace throughout the world.
Isa 26:1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
The nations besiege the City of David where the last few people of Jerusalem are bunkered.
Isa 29:1-4 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices. 2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel. 3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee. 4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.
Note: It may be that Israel’s next temple will be built in the City of David. It was where King David placed the ark of God in a tabernacle he prepared when he took it from the house of Obededom (2Sa 6:12-17).
They are in sore distress. What can they do? Here is God’s instruction.
Joel 2:12-17 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. 14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. 17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
God hears the supplications of those trapped on mount Zion. The residue of Jerusalem escapes through the new valley that Jesus makes in the Mount of Olives. God doesn’t only part seas. He is also able to split mountains.
Zec 14:3-5 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Azal is the wilderness east of the Mount of Olives where the azazel was released (Lev 16:8-27). The Hebrew word “azazel” is translated “scapegoat” in English. Azazel means “complete removal”. Just as Jesus Christ completely removed our sins by his death(Psa 103:12, Isa 43:25, Jer 31:34, Jer 50:20, Mic 7:18, 1Jo 1:7). Jesus now completely removes the residue in Jerusalem from harm.
Then Jesus “whom they have pierced” will destroy all the nations that have come against Jerusalem. The few remaining Jews in Jerusalem will see Jesus and mourn for their unbelief. They will turn to Jesus the Messiah.
Zec 12:9-10 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
The whole nation of Israel will see Jesus and believe. They will mourn for their rejection of him. Israel will never be in unbelief again forever. Glory to God!
Zechariah 12:11-14 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. 12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart; 13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart; 14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
Just as God will make a way of escape for the Jerusalem residue; God has provided two escapes for Israel before the time of Jacob’s trouble. The first is to turn to the Lord Jesus “while it is called today”. This is explained in the book written to the Hebrews.
Heb 3:7-19 7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
The second way of escape is given only to those who are in Judaea. Flee to the mountains!
Mat 24:15-18 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Luk 21:20-22 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
In the wilderness of the mountains, Part of Israel will be nourished for three and a half years.
Here is my message to Israel. Escape this day of human anguish. My prayer for Israel, turn to Jesus the messiah while it is called today!

Forsake your house and just run!
Forsake your house and just run!
The enemy is in the doorway!
By Craig C. White
We are given a pattern of the preliminary events of Jerusalem’s Great Tribulation in ancient history. Around 170 BC a Greek king named Antiochus Epiphanes ransacked the temple in Jerusalem and then claimed that he was god. This will be repeated in the future by the man we call the Antichrist. In Matthew 24 this is called the abomination of desolation. When the Antichrist spoils the temple in Jerusalem it will be the sign that the people living around Jerusalem should flee!
Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
What is the abomination of desolation? Before or during the seven year Tribulation period Israel will once again build another temple in Jerusalem. They will resume daily animal sacrifice there. The abomination of desolation is the stopping of the daily sacrifice. This was accomplished once before by Antiochus Epiphanes in 173 BC by deposing or murdering the rightful High Priest Onias III and replacing him with a false priest. Antiochus Epiphanes then began making sacrifices to himself as god (Dan 12:11). The future abomination of desolation will also be identified by the stopping of temple sacrifice. In the future the Antichrist will sit in the temple in Jerusalem and claim that he is a deity. This is the abomination of desolation.
2Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
The region around Jerusalem is called Judea. When the residents of Judea see the temple being spoiled they are warned to forsake their homes and property and to flee into the mountains! They are warned not to go to their house to take anything with them! Not even their clothes! They are warned to flee immediately! I hope that they can heed this warning! I think that it would not be so easy to do. If any one of us saw impending disaster coming, our first instinct would be to save what we could. And to take what we need to survive like clothing and blankets. When Judea’s day of trouble comes, they will not have a minute to spare. Their enemies will already be in their doorway!
Matthew 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
The people of Judea are instructed to flee into the mountains. The mountains are the vast desolate mountainous region east of Jerusalem all the way into western Jordan.
Ancient history also gives us a window into the future scene of the day of Judea’s flight. This historical record of Antiochus Epiphanes’ attack of Jerusalem will once again be repeated on the day when Judea flees to the mountains. Notice that his soldiers were instructed to kill anybody hiding in their houses.
2 Maccabees 5:11–14 When these happenings were reported to the king, he thought that Judea was in revolt. Raging like a wild animal, he set out from Egypt and took Jerusalem by storm. He ordered his soldiers to cut down without mercy those whom they met and to slay those who took refuge in their houses. There was a massacre of young and old, a killing of women and children, a slaughter of virgins and infants. In the space of three days, eighty thousand were lost, forty thousand meeting a violent death, and the same number being sold into slavery.
Both the region of Judah and Jerusalem will be swarming with their enemies. If the people living around Jerusalem don’t forsake everything and immediately run for the hills then they will be captured and killed or taken as a slave to do hard labor in foreign countries (Zechariah 14:2).
Zechariah 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
In the city of Jerusalem half of its residents will be taken as slaves. Anyone trying to escape will be caught and killed (Isa 30:16). A few Jews will remain inside of the city to suffer horribly.
Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
When the Antichrist defiles the temple in Jerusalem it will be the sign that Judea should flee! When Judea’s day of trouble comes, they will not have a minute to spare. Their enemies will be hunting them door to door in their homes!

Gog is Turkey! Magog is it’s Leader!
Gog is Turkey! Magog is it’s Leader!
From my house I can’t see Russia
By Craig C. White
Bible prophecy teachers say that Magog in Ezekiel 38 refers to Russia. But from my house I can’t see Russia! That view of Magog came about by transcribing “chief” (or the Hebrew word “rosh”) to mean Russia. Transposing Hebrew words into English phonetic equivalents is not proper Bible prophecy interpretation technique. That technique is not used elsewhere to interpret Bible prophecy. Rosh means first or primary. Magog is a man who settled in the land of modern day Turkey.
Eze 38:1-3 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
Verse 2 tells us that Magog is the “chief prince” (or most prominent governor) among his brothers Meshech and Tubal. So Noah had a son named Japheth who had a son named Magog who settled Turkey. Gog is a shortened version of Magog.
This isn’t the first passage where Magog, Meshech, and Tubal are found. Let’s look at Genesis 10:1-3.
Gen 10:1-3 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. 2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. 3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
Jeepers, all those weird names are listed in that short passage! Magog, Meshech, and Tubal are people. As a matter of fact they are relatives. Magog, Meshech, and Tubal are brothers. Togarmah is Gomer’s son. They are among the first families to resettle the world after the devastation of Noah’s flood. They all settled together in today’s Turkey. Isn’t Bible prophecy fun!
Today Turkey has a leader that fits the Magog profile. His name is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He became Prime Minister of Turkey in 2003. He is a devout Muslim and has an ingrained animosity toward Israel. He also has a volatile disposition. He has been over-zealous in his public hatred and provocation toward Israel. While most Middle Eastern despots are being besieged and exiled, Prime Minister Erdoğan is popular and gaining in popularity.
Ezekiel 38:5 tells us that Turkey will lead Iran, Libya, and Sudan in an invasion into Israel. All of these armies are fighting in Syria today! Turkey will invade Syria and then lead an invasion into Israel!
