Iran approves Turkey’s new advance into Syria

    By Craig C. White

Although Turkey and Iran are on opposite sides in Syria, Iran is encouraging Turkey to further attack the Kurds in northern Syria. Iran figures that with the Kurds under assault in the north that Iran will have greater opportunity to attack Israel in the south.

This is huge! Jeremiah 49:23 says that when Hamah and Tell Rifaat in northwestern Syria hear evil reports then Damascus will be destroyed. Tell Rifaat is called Arpad in Jeremiah 49:23.

Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

The Turkish Army is amassed next to Hamah and Tell Rifaat right now. Turkey has announced that they will attack suddenly at any time. The major opposition that Turkey has in Syria is Russia and Iran. The Russian Army is busy in Ukraine. Russia has not endorsed Turkey’s looming advance in Syria but Russia has not condemned it either. Iran has now given Turkey permission to advance.

Iran’s capitulation is also significant regarding another Bible prophecy. Ezekiel 38:5 lists Iran as one of the nations that Turkey will lead into Israel. Turkey was the head of the last Islamic Caliphate known as the Ottoman Empire. Iran views Turkey as the rightful seat of a future Islamic Caliphate. So far Iran has refused to fight against the Turkish Army in Syria. Now Iran is opening the door for a Turkish invasion into Syria. According to Ezekiel Iran will follow Turkey into northern Israel. I expect this to happen after Turkey advances further southward to destroy Damascus.

  • Jesus will be HOT when he comes for his Church

Jesus will be HOT when he comes for his Church

Mosul, the Rapture, and the Golan Heights

    By Craig C. White

OK, here is something that you have never considered. The book of Nahum predicts the flooding and destruction of ancient Nineveh. That happened in 612 BC. Today Nineveh is called Mosul in northern Iraq. Mosul is the hometown and headquarters of ISIS. Nahum’s prophecy seems to also apply to Mosul today. A lot of Nahum’s prophecy has already been fulfilled in Mosul.

Now that isn’t even the most curious thing about the book of Nahum. Besides telling us about the destruction and flooding of ancient Nineveh; the book of Nahum also describes the coming in the air of Jesus Christ!!! Jesus comes in a whirlwind and he is HOT!

Nahum 1:3-8 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. 4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. 5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. 6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. 7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. 8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

The land around Jesus will melt and burn. In the verses above, Nahum identifies Bashan, Carmel, and Lebanon. These places all describe the Golan Heights that separate Israel from Syria and Lebanon. I think that Ezekiel chapter 38 describes a Turkish led invasion into the Golan Heights of Israel. I expect this invasion to happen after Turkey attacks Hamah and Tell-Rifaat (Arpad in Jeremiah 49:23) in northwestern Syria, and then marches southward to destroy Damascus (Jeremiah 49:23-27). Turkey is preparing to attack these two Syrian cities right now. Turkish President Erdogan said that the Turkish Army could come at any night suddenly and all at once. So the Turkish led invasion into the Golan Heights is not far off.

Speaking of fire; I’ve always wondered where the fire and brimstone would come from in Ezekiel chapter 38. It seems that it will be stirred up by the heat of Jesus’ coming. Ezekiel says that God will cause the Turkish led armies to retreat.

Ezekiel 38:22-23 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. 23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Guess what peeps. I think that this next passage refers to Jesus Christ’s coming for his Church. The passage precedes a description of Israel’s time of trouble. I think that when Jesus collects believers he will be angry with the unbelieving nations, especially those situated around Israel. Jesus won’t come floating down sweetly on a fluffy cloud. He will come in a whirlwind. Fire shall devour before him. He will give the order to collect all of the people who have accepted his own sacrifice for sin; namely Jesus Christ’s death on a cross.

Psalm 50:3-5 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

So when Jesus comes for his Church the heat of his coming will scorch the ground where Israel’s enemies have gathered. It seems that Jesus will personally fight against the Turkish led invaders who have gathered on the Golan Heights.

A lot of Nahum’s prophecy has already been fulfilled in Mosul. Nahum tells about a final uprising and the flooding of Mosul yet to come. Jesus Christ may judge Mosul in person when he comes to gather his Church before the Tribulation on earth. Jesus will also fight against the Turkish led forces on the Golan Heights. Keep your eye on Mosul but also watch Hamah, Tell Rifaat, Damascus, and the Golan Heights!

  • Psalm 83 War – From Judah to Jordan to Jesus

    psalm 83 war

Judean wilderness east of Jerusalem toward Jordan.

Note: The path that sweeps across the illustration is an infamous trail. This may be the route that the people of Judea take while fleeing into the mountains (Mark 13:14).

    Psalm 83 War

    Hidden in a secret place!

    By Craig C. White

It is very popular these days to say that the Psalm 83 war will happen soon. Well it will happen pretty soon, but not before the Rapture of the Church, and not before the Great Tribulation. It will happen during the Great Tribulation. Psalm 83 is short and simple. The key to understanding it is to recognize who “thy hidden ones” are in verse 3. They are Jews from Judea (region south of Jerusalem) who have fled into the wilderness during the second half of the Great Tribulation. The wilderness is the mountainous region of Jordan east of Jerusalem.

Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Psalm 83 is a request for God’s help. It probably represents the Judean refugee’s call for defense at the end of the Tribulation. Jesus Christ will come through Jordan defeating Israel’s enemies (read Revelation Wrath Path). In the verse below, Edom and Bozrah are in todays Jordan.

Isa 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

Psalm 83 has four sections; God, be not still, Counsel Council, List of enemies, and Do unto others as you have done unto them before!

    God, be not still!

Psalm 83:1 A Song or Psalm of Asaph. Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

The word not is used three times in the opening verse of Psalm 83. The Hebrew word translated not here means not!

This is a prayer that God would not allow the people of Israel to be killed by their enemies. Also that God would not fail to devise an offense against Israel’s enemies. And that God would not be idle while Israel’s enemies attack. In other words, Lord now is the time for action!

Psalm 83:2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

Israel’s enemies hate Israel. The enemies of Israel are the adversaries of God. They are making a loud sound. They are enraged. They are screaming to make war on the Judean refugees. They hate God personally. The word translated head in the verse above is the Hebrew word rosh. Rosh means chief or primary. It probably refers to a leader. Israel’s enemies have magnified their leader. They think that they can fight against God because their ruler is supreme!

    Counsel Council

Psalm 83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

God’s enemies have assembled together in a secret meeting and have devised a cunning plan against the nation of Israel to utterly destroy them. They have deliberated together to kill God’s “hidden ones”.

In verse 3 above, the term “hidden ones” means to hide by covering over. The Judean refugees are protected in mountainous dens in Jordan. They are kept in a secret place until Jesus Christ returns!

In Isaiah 16 below, God allows the Jews escaping Judah to take refuge in Moab which is in today’s Jordan east of the Dead Sea. This verse is applied to the time just before Jesus Christ takes his place on his throne in Jerusalem.

Isa 16:3-5 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth. 4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land. 5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

In the middle of the Great Tribulation Jews in Judea will flee to the mountains or wilderness. Some of the people of Judea (region around Jerusalem) will flee to the mountains where God will sustain them for three and a half years (Mat 24:15-16, Luke 21:21-22). I think that this place is on the east side of the Jordan River near Jericho and Mt. Nebo, where Israel entered the land after the exodus. It is also the place where ravens fed Elijah as he hid (1Ki 17:3). It is also the place where King David and his men fled out of Jerusalem from Absalom his son when he took over the kingdom of Israel (2Sa 17:22).

Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Note: In the verse above “Wings of a great eagle” refers to God’s supernatural help given to Israel in time of flight. This idiom is applied to Israel during the exodus in Exo 19:4. It is also applied to Israel’s deliverance from Jerusalem at the end of the Great Tribulation in Isa 40:31. It is applied here to the people in Judea just before Israel is overrun with its enemies during the Great Tribulation period.

Below; Zechariah tells us that Jesus will save “the tents of Judah” before he saves the city of Jerusalem!

Zec 12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.

It may be that “the tents of Judah” (above) are those of Judea who fled to the Jordanian mountains. They have been living there for 3 ½ years protected by God.

Psalm 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. 5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

During their meeting, Israel’s enemies plan to destroy the nation of Israel. They have deliberated together and all agree. They have made a pact with themselves. This is describing a Middle Eastern conference were a contract is written that all nations agree to. They will completely eradicate the nation of Israel.

    List of enemies

Psalm 83:6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; 7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

This list of Israel’s enemies is mostly describing the nation of Jordan. Edom is in today’s Jordan. Ishmaelites settled Saudi Arabia, but I don’t think that Saudi Arabia is represented here. Ishmaelites also settled in today’s southern Jordan. Hagarenes settled in today’s Jordan, There is a Gebal in Lebanon, but this Gebal is in today’s Jordan. Ammon settled in today’s Jordan, Amalek probably lived just west of today’s Jordan. The Philistines lived on Israel’s Mediterranean coast. I think they represent Lebanon here, along with Tyre. Assur is ancient Assyria. Today it is best represented by northern Iraq. So Lebanon and Iraq agree to help the children of Lot. Lot’s children were Moab and Ammon. Like I said before, they both settled in today’s Jordan.

    Psalm 83 war

    Psalm 83 War Map

So Psalm 83 is describing a Jordanian conference where Lebanon and Iraq agree to help Jordan eliminate the Jewish refugees who have fled from southern Israel into the mountainous wilderness of western Jordan.

Do unto others as you have done unto them before!

Psalm 83:9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: 10 Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. 11 Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: 12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. 13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. 14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; 15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. 16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD. 17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: 18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

The verses above describe armies destroyed by Israel while led by Gideon (Judges 4 & 8). The bloodshed of these battles starts in the valley of Megiddo and ends in western Jordan.

Psalm 83 describes a treaty to eliminate the Judean refugees. Jesus Christ will personally pour out his wrath on Jordan’s armies. He will save the Jewish people who are hiding in the mountainous region of western Jordan.

[important]The Psalm 83 war is not the next prophetic event on the end time calendar. The invasion of Syria’s northwestern cities and the Destruction of Damascus by Turkey is the next event to look for. The nations are disquieted over Syria

verse by verse through Jeremiah 49:23-27

    By Craig C. White

The Prophet Jeremiah asks the question “How is Damascus not there?”. Damascus is the oldest continually inhabited city in the world. One day it will no longer exist.

Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

What is Jeremiah telling us? Obviously this prophecy is concerning Damascus, Syria. In the verse above, Jeremiah mentions two cities. Hamath and Arpad (or modern day Tell Rifaat) are both located in northwestern Syria near the Turkish border. Today Hamah is Syria’s fifth largest city.. Hamah is further south but still close to the Turkish border. Arpad is modern day Tell Rifaat located about 25 miles north of Aleppo and about 20 miles south of the Turkish border. These cities are located along the path of an invasion launched from Turkey headed towards Damascus.

According to Jeremiah 49:23 the people of northwestern Syria will hear intelligence reports that the Turkish army is about to invade Syria. The army’s target is Damascus and they are coming through their cities! The people of northwestern Syria are terrified. Their hearts faint with fear

There is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. The sea in Bible prophecy can refer to the Mediterranean Sea when it is accompanied with the definite article “the”. The sea can also refer to the nations. There is no article used here in the original Hebrew. I think that Jeremiah is saying that the nations will have great anxiety over the coming Turkish invasion into Syria. The Hebrew word translated sorrow means anxiety, fearfulness, carefulness, or heaviness.

So the nations will be very nervous concerning the coming Turkish invasion into Syria. The Turkish army’s goal is the destruction of Damascus. The English says it well here. The nations will not be able to be still. The Hebrew word translated quiet is defined below. The nations of the world will not be able to be at rest. They are already feeling uneasy concerning Syria.

    quiet – shâqat, shaw-kat’

A primitive root; to repose (usually figuratively): – appease, idleness, (at, be at, be in, give) quiet (-ness), (be at, be in, give, have, take) rest, settle, be still.

Jeremiah 49:24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.

Damascus is waxed feeble. This is the idea of failing in your old age. Damascus is about to die. Damascus turneth herself to flee. This could refer to the city preparing to relinquish its life and it could also refer to the cities inhabitants as they attempt to escape.

The Hebrew word translated fear means to tremble with terror. Anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail; literally Damascus is feeling a localized tightness like a woman about to give birth.

Jeremiah 49:25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!

Two different Hebrew words for city are used in the verse above. The city of praise is a fortified city that has been celebrated in song. When God says “how is the city not left” he could be communicating his astonishment that even after a terrible assault on Damascus, the city has still not surrendered. When God calls Damascus “the city of my joy!” he is specifically saying that he delights in the cities old buildings. So we are looking for the destruction of the old part of the city. The neighborhood of “Old Damascus” is the capital of Syria. Damascus is the oldest continually inhabited city on earth. It was founded by the Aramaeans over four thousand years ago, and was inhabited two thousand years before that. Damascus is a living depiction of human history.

Jeremiah 49:26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.

In this verse the young men are contrasted to the men of war. The men of war obviously represent the Syrian Army. Lately Syrian citizens have joined Assad and the Syrian Army to help defend their country. The Syrian National Defense Force is a newly formed civilian guard. I think that the Syrian National Defense Force could be represented by the young men in this verse.

It sounds like the young men of Damascus will stay behind to defend the city. Perhaps they will be the first line of defense. The young men of Damascus will die in its streets. The Syrian Army will be bunkered in Damascus. When God says that all the men of war shall be cut off he means that every Syrian soldier will die defending Damascus. Jeremiah isn’t necessarily saying that this assault on Damascus will last only one day. That day refers to the entire duration be it one day or longer.

Jeremiah 49:27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.

The phrase “kindle a fire” leads many to imagine a nuclear explosion but that is not what is pictured here. The terminology “kindle a fire” is used in several other Bible passages. The terminology “kindle a fire” mean that God will send an army against a city or a nation. I think that God will send the Turkish army against Damascus.

Please allow me to defend the future fulfillment of the destruction of Damascus. Many Bible scholars claim that the destruction of Damascus has already taken place. They say that the Assyrian conquest of Damascus in 734 BC fulfills the Damascus prophecy. Well Damascus was conquered by Assyria in 734 BC and several cities around Damascus were burned with fire but Damascus has never been completely destroyed. These Bible teachers argue that the Assyrian conquest of Damascus happened shortly after Isaiah gave his prophecy about the destruction of Damascus.

Isaiah 17:1-2 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

It is true that the Assyrians conquered Damascus and wreaked havoc on surrounding towns shortly after Isaiah predicted the event. I am certain that much of Isaiah’s prophecy was fulfilled in 734 BC, BUT long after Isaiah gave his prophecy the Prophet Jeremiah also predicted the destruction of Damascus.

Jeremiah was a prophet of Israel around 600 BC. Jeremiah gave his prophecy one hundred years after Assyria conquered Damascus in 734 BC. So the Assyrian conquest of Damascus can not possibly fulfill Jeremiah’s prophecy. The destruction of Damascus is yet future.

In Jeremiah 49:27, The palaces of Benhadad refer to the ancient thrones of Syrian Kings in Damascus. Like the ancient invasion, this future invasion will also destroy Syria’s seat of government in the neighborhood of Old Damascus.

So the Turkish army will march down from Syria’s northwestern border terrorizing cities along the way. Their goal is the destruction of Damascus. The nations of the world will be in a tumult. They will not be able to calm down. Damascus will prepare to die. The people will flee and the young men and army will fight to the death never surrendering. The oldest city on earth will be destroyed along with its historical buildings. Jeremiah describes a city under siege not a city obliterated by a single bomb.

Daniel 7: The Leopard is Upon Us!

A new look at Daniel 7

    Daniel 7:6

    By Craig C. White

Commonly interpreted as describing ancient world empires, Daniel 7 has been sorely misunderstood. It is high time to properly interpret Daniel’s end time vision, since it is unfolding today. Understanding Daniel 7 provides a startling perspective of our position in the end times timeline. It describes the events that lead up to the coming trial of Israel and the wrath of God on all the Earth. The final gentile world empire is forming. Daniel 7 tells us how.

Daniel 7:1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

Some say that Daniel 7 is describing the ancient world empires of Babylon, Media-Persia and Greece. I think that Daniel 7 is describing modern kingdoms!

Belshazzar was Nebuchadnezzar’s grandson, and was the last king in Babylon of the Babylonian empire. He was co-regent of the Babylonian empire with his father Nabonidus who ruled in Tayma (Tema in NW Saudi Arabia). So any prophecy that was given to Daniel at that point in time regarding the extent of the Babylonian empire, was not prophecy but it was history. Later on of course Daniel did tell Belshazzar of the demise of the Babylonian empire by reading “the writing on the wall” in Daniel chapter 5.

Daniel 7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

The four winds of heaven” are describing spiritual forces that influence geo-political events among the nations. Each “wind” has influence over specific geographic regions. “The four winds of heaven” blow from the four corners of the world. Israel is somewhat in the center. The winds blow from their corners to influence regions but do not necessarily represent one particular nation. They influence their corresponding geo-political quadrants. “The four winds of heaven” correspond to the four furthest corners of the ancient world empires. They blow to consolidate regional powers under one government, and then to consolidate world powers under one government. The ultimate goal is to reconstitute the territories of the ancient World Empires. In Daniel 7 they influence England in the Northwest, Russia in the Northeast, and India in the Southeast. Today the Southwest wind is blowing upon the Middle East and northern Africa. The South West wind is stirring up the Middle East to unite together, in order to rage against God and Israel! This sounds like the beginnings of the battle of Gog and Magog. Read my commentary titled “Magog Made Easy!“. The four winds of heaven are employed elsewhere in Daniel.

Daniel 8:8 “Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven”.

The verse above describes the breakup of Alexander the Greats, Grecian Kingdom. “The four winds of heaven” are four directions (NW, SW, NE, and SE) toward “the four winds of heaven” in which the Greek Kingdom divided. This is further explained in Daniel 11:4.

The great sea in Daniel 7:2 is the multitude of nations over all the Earth. This similitude is used frequently elsewhere in Bible prophecy.

Note: Sometimes in Bible prophecy “the great sea” refers to the Mediterranean Sea, especially when geographically referencing Israel.

Daniel 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

Ask yourself, do these Beasts exist at the same time? We will see that these beasts come up one at a time, but continue together. As a matter of fact the first three beasts outlive the fourth beast!

Daniel 7:4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

It is commonly thought that the beast “like a lion” represents the Babylonian empire. While the Babylonian symbol was in fact a lion, it was never represented by a lion with eagle’s wings. The nation whose symbol is in fact a lion with eagle’s wings is England. Before you dismiss this interpretation please note that this is the view put forth by Sir Robert Anderson in his book “The Coming Prince” (still available). Written around 1900, it is one of the most exhaustive works ever written on Daniel’s seventieth week and the coming Antichrist. The wings on these beasts probably represent colonies (or adjunct nations) of the main beasts. While England had many colonies, I believe that the eagle’s wings depict the United States of America. First, we all know that the symbol of the USA is the eagle. Second, the wings were plucked off in the American Revolution. I believe that this beast isn’t depicting England in its full empire, but it is depicting England’s role in the creation of the final beast (the last gentile world empire). Therefore, I believe that the United States of America plays a supporting role in creating the final beast. We are already playing that role! Take a moment to remember America’s position on the Middle East rebellions. In every instance we are supporting the rebels, usually swiftly and without debate!

The fact that it was made to stand like a man, and that a man’s heart was given to it suggests that a particular man will play a significant role in the end time prophecy. This may also suggest that the beast’s once great empire is diminished to the place of only having a voice in world affairs.

Daniel 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

The nation that is obviously symbolized by a bear is Russia. For the last one hundred years prophecy scholars have identified the bear in Daniel 7 as Russia. I think the three ribs are yet to come. But let me alert you! We are already seeing signs of them! They are in (or among) the teeth like a bit. They exist together at the same time. They speak to the bear all at once. They are either Russian political or military leaders. I think the bear is devouring (or eating) territory. I think the Russian bear is raised up along its southwestern border to bring back under its authority (and ultimately into the fold of a revived World Empire) the following countries: Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan all north of the Caucasus Mountains; also Belarus, Ukraine, and Moldova all west of the Ural Mountains. Most people will tell you that the Roman Empire didn’t extend into Russia, but the best scholarship says that it reached as far as the western slopes of the Ural Mountains. In 2008 Russia tested its ability to take back the former Soviet territory of Georgia.

daniel 7Countries that the Russian bear will devour!

The nations that Russia is likely to conquer are the nations that were part of the ancient Roman Empire and also former Soviet Union territories but not part of the European Union or Middle East. Remember, the goal is to reconstitute the territories of the ancient World Empires.

Remember the four winds of heaven are blowing to consolidate regional powers. The goal is to reconstitute an ancient World Empire, so Russia will probably overtake nations that once belonged to the Roman Empire. All of the above listed nations were part of the ancient Roman Empire, and are all situated along Russia’s southwestern border (see map above). I want to stress that this is my inclination! Daniel’s prophecy doesn’t spell out these countries by name.

Note: By the way, I don’t see Russia in Ezekiel 38 (Gog and Magog). That view came about by transcribing “chief” (or the Hebrew “rosh”) to mean Russia. Rosh means first or primary. Transposing Hebrew words into English phonetic equivalents is not proper interpretive technique. Gog is the land of modern Turkey and Magog is its leader or at least its chief founder. Please read my commentary titled “Magog Made Easy!”

Do not worry! The Russian wars are among the wars that must happen near the end. Jesus explained this in the Gospels.

Mat 24:6-7 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Luk 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Daniel 7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

Current world events regarding this verse compelled me to write this commentary. I believe the leopard is upon us. According to our interpretation, these beasts are nations or empires. Currently no nations on earth are symbolized by the leopard. However, a new world entity is about to be created that could be symbolized by the leopard. US president Barack Obama is spearheading an effort to form a confederacy of four nations: Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan (please note that the leopard has four heads). There are several reasons for doing this, not the least of which is that Turkmenistan wants to build the world’s largest natural gas pipeline to the Arabian Sea. The beginnings of this confederacy already exists. It is called TAPI (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India). This confederacy centers around The Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline. Leopards are common throughout this region. These nations identify with leopards. They have named mountain ranges and former leaders after them.

If you will remember that former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf was served an arrest warrant for in the Benazir Bhutto assassination. Musharraf fled Pakistan and was exile in London and Dubai. He was never tried. He is now back in Pakistan. Well former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has gleefully expressed his desire to have US president Barrack Obama as their “Supreme Leader”. It is interesting to note that the Pakistani leadership is in the market for a “Supreme Leader”; considering this is a newly created position. Keep a look out to see if this central Asian confederacy is clearly and openly represented by a leopard. The formation of this leopard would be a confirmation of this interpretation, and a present time fulfillment of God’s sure word. It would also be a major milestone in the end time timeline. It is high time to awake and watch.

The leopard in Daniel 7:6 has four wings, which probably refer to four adjunct nations. There are three small nations embedded among the land mass of India. They are Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. You can add one more; south of India you have the small island nation of Sri Lanka, or on the mainland the nation of Burma.

Dominion was given to it”. My guess is that a place will be given the leopard in world politics.

Let me make a note at this time. England (the lion with eagles’ wings), Russia (the bear) and south central Asia (the leopard) are the furthest extents of the Ancient Roman Empire. The last two are yet to be included in the European Union. I believe that these three beasts will become confederate with the EU and Middle East to form the fourth and final beast.

I wrote my commentary titled “The Leopard is Upon Us!” way back in 2011. Since then the identity of the four primary nations of the leopard in Daniel 7:6 has become more apparent. In November 2014 then Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan announced his plans to form a new Islamic Union. I think that the first four nations to be included in this Union will be Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. These are the same four nations that Revelation 9:13-16 identifies as being located along the Euphrates River. During the first half of the seven year Tribulation period these four nations along with four other secondary nations (or perhaps four Terrorist organizations) will conquer most of the Middle East, Northern Africa, and Central Asia. Please read my commentary titled World War III.

Rev 9:13-16 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

Now President Erdogan has made his intentions of forming a Turkish ruled revived Ottoman Empire with him a it’s Sultan very clear! The first nation to fall to Erdogan and to the Turkish Army will be Syria. After Damascus is destroyed and Syria is conquered then Erdogan will install Muslim Brotherhood leadership there! Then the leopard (or Islamic Union) will be formed.

In Daniel chapter 8 the ancient world empires of Media-Persia and Greece are represented by the ram, and goat. Both of these animals were in fact symbols of these empires. If the beasts in Daniel 7 refer to ancient world empires, then why are the symbolic animals different? A bear and a leopard are different than a ram and a goat aren’t they?! God uses animals to describe kingdoms or empires in Daniel. The ram and goat were actually the national symbols of Media-Persia and Greece. If we assign Persia and Greece to the bear and the leopard in Daniel 7 the symbolism breaks down. We should look for kingdoms who actually use these symbols; the Lion with eagles wings, the bear, and the leopard!

As Between Friends (Punch magazine, 13 December 1911)

Photo credit: Leonard Raven-Hill [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons

Here is a “Punch” magazine cartoon from 13 December 1911 depicting England as a lion, Russia as a bear, and Central Asia as a cat.

Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Everybody agrees about the identity of the fourth beast. It represents the last gentile world empire. It exists during “the Great Tribulation”. This beast is the same end time empire as described in Daniel 2:40-44, 7:20-24, and Revelation 12:3, 13:1-2, & chapter 17. According to Revelation 13 the fourth beast is an amalgam of the first three beasts.

Rev 13:1-2 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Revelation 13:1-2 indicates that the beasts exist together at the same time because parts of the fourth beast are made of the first three beasts. If so, then they do not represent ancient world empires. By interpretation the English lion speaks for the one world government. The Russian bear may provide military power with its stomping feet!

Horns commonly represent kings in Bible prophecy. The ten horns in Daniel 7:7 represent ten kings. This is explained in Daniel 7:24 and Revelation 17:12. The ten kings that are over the fourth beast in Daniel 7:7 & 24 are different than the four kings that are over the four beasts of Daniel 7:17. There are ten kings over the fourth beast, but there is only one king over each of the four beasts.

Many prophecy students are looking for a ten division European Union to fulfill the ten horn prophecy. I think that a ten leader world council is more likely.

Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Again, horns commonly represent kings in Bible prophecy. The “little horn” is a secondary leader, for instance a prince, vice-president, or governor. The term “little horn” is applied to Antiochus Epiphanies in Daniel 8:9. “Antiochus Epiphanies” was the son of “Antiochus the Great” the king of the Seleucid dynasty (1/4 of the Grecian empire, headquartered in Syria). Antiochus Epiphanies was initially a prince in the Seleucid dynasty until he manipulated his way onto the throne. This “little horn” will evidently take away or usurp the authority of three of the first ten kings. This “little horn” has a “mouth speaking great things”. He blasphemes God, “showing himself that he is God” (Daniel 11:36-37). This little horn is obviously the “Antichrist” (1 John 2:18). By the way, the Antichrist will do many of the same things that Antiochus Epiphanies did.

Daniel 7:9-11 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. 11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

In the verses above, Jesus returns to the earth in fury at the end of the great tribulation. He dismantles the New World Order and tosses the Antichrist into the “lake of fire”. The Antichrist will be the first resident of the “lake of fire”, along with the “false prophet”.

Daniel 7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

The first three beasts, that is: the lion with eagle’s wings, the bear, and the leopard lives were prolonged for a season and time. A season and time is an idiom meaning approximately one year and three months. The first three beasts survive for one year and three months after the fourth beast is destroyed. This verse cannot apply to ancient world empires. They did not exist at the same time. One world empire defeated the previous world empire. The rest of the beasts, that is: the lion with eagle’s wings, the bear, and the leopard outlive the fourth beast. The fourth beast is the last gentile world empire or the New World Order. It exists during the end times. It is in power just before Jesus returns in fury to judge the nations that are against Israel. Therefore the first three beasts also exist during the end times. The four beasts in Daniel 7 exist before and during the tribulation period. The fourth beast is destroyed at Jesus’ coming.

Daniel 7:13-14 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

In the verses above, Jesus receives his everlasting earthly kingdom from God the father. Amen, Halleluiah!

Daniel 7:15-17 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. 16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. 17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

In Daniel 7:17 our attention is drawn to the four kings not the four kingdoms. Listen up folks! The four kings will be instrumental in creating the fourth beast! These persons will be easily identifiable in their positions over each of the four beasts and their efforts to create a one world government. Today Tony Blair the former Prime Minister of England is playing a major role in the effort to form a one world government. Prince Charles of England is also looked to among the one world government movement. He happens to be the head figure in all the Masonic Order, which unites the entire world. In Russia Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and President Medvedev (Russian meaning “bear”) are prime candidates for involvement in creating the one world government. If US President Barrack Obama becomes “Supreme Leader” of the leopard then put him on the list as well. The fourth king rules over the forth beast; he is the Antichrist “the man of perdition”. Remember, the fourth beast arises after the third. The fourth beast reigns only a short time.

Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

So when we see the leopard we are only a step away from the final gentile world empire and the great tribulation.

Daniel 7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

Thank God that after these wicked men have their day, then the righteous will triumph. I’m looking forward to that everlasting kingdom.

The Saints consist of believers in Christ Jesus: including Old Testament Hebrews and proselytes (resurrected after the great tribulation), New Testament Christians (resurrected and raptured before the tribulation), tribulation martyrs (a multitude from every nation), and post tribulation Hebrews (a national turning to Jesus). I hope and pray that you are part of this group.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

    Daniel 7:19-21 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; 20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. 21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

Just a reminder; the fourth beast is the final gentile world government. The statement, whose look was more stout than his fellows doesn’t mean that the little horn (the anti-Christ) is a bodybuilder or that he is overweight. Daniel is telling us that it was evident to him by the appearance of the little horn that he is master or chief or head over the ten kings. The saints mentioned here refer to the nation of Israel (See Daniel 7:25 and notes).

Daniel 7:22-25 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. 23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Let’s remember that God gave this prophecy to Daniel and it directly concerns the nation of Israel. The antichrist will sorely oppress the Jews and try to change the Old Testament laws of worship and sacrifice.

In Daniel 7:25 above, the phrase “a time and times and the dividing of time” is an idiom meaning three and a half years. This period of time is considered to be the second part of the Great Tribulation. “The Great Tribulation” is also expressed as The time of Jacob’s trouble.

Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

It is also known as the “Seventieth week of God’s indignation toward Israel” (Daniel 9:24). It is also the day of God’s wrath on all nations!

Jeremiah 30:11 For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

Daniel 7:26-28 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. 28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

If Daniel 7 refers to ancient world empires then it contributes no further information than is already expressed elsewhere in the book of Daniel. Read Daniel 7 carefully. Consider unfolding world events. Consider the nations that are represented by the lion with eagle’s wings, the bear, and soon the leopard. Watch as prophecy that troubled Daniel unfolds before our eyes. Know that God’s word is sure.

Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

    Camlica Mosque

    tabernacle between the seas

    By Craig C. White

In March, 2019 the Camlica Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey officially opened to the public. The Camlica Mosque is the largest mosque in Turkey with the tallest minarets in the world. The Camlica Mosque is built on the Bosporus waterway connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan championed the construction of the mosque, which has a capacity of 63,000 people. The Camlica Mosque is built in Ottoman Empire style and dedicated to Ottoman conquest. Erdogan will personally inaugurate the Camlica Mosque.

Now for the tricky part: Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist. Everybody knows that he considers himself to be the next Sultan of a Turkish ruled Caliphate. The Prophet Daniel says that the Antichrist will build the tabernacles of his palace between the seas. The Camlica Mosque is built on the narrow strip of land that separates Europe from Asia. It also separates the Black Sea from the Mediterranean Sea. Erdogan has built his mosque between the seas in Istanbul.

Daniel 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

The Camlica Mosque is built on the highest hill in Istanbul and overlooks the Bosphorus waterway towards Europe. This is a way of saying that Islam will conquer the West.

Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist

    By Craig C. White

Besides building the largest palace in the world in Turkey’s capital city of Ankara; Turkish President Erdogan is on a building spree of Mosques in Istanbul.

Daniel 11:45 says that the Antichrist will “plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain”. Turkish President Erdogan is building several Mosques in Istanbul including a controversial Mosque in Taksim square. Taksim square has long been a site dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk founder of the republic of Turkey and proponent of Turkey’s western philosophy. By building a Mosque in Taksim square Erdogan is shunning Turkey’s one hundred years of democracy and is moving Turkey back towards its Ottoman Empire Islamist ways. Erdogan has also built the largest Mosque in Turkey. The Çamlıca Mosque overlooks the Bosphorus connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. Every Mosque in Istanbul could be described as being between the seas. But the Çamlıca Mosque is built on the highest point in Istanbul. The Çamlıca Mosque was inaugurated on July 1, 2016. The Çamlıca Mosque is dedicated to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. Obviously Erdogan is identifying himself as the new Turkish Sultan and rightful ruler of all of Islam.

Daniel 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

Turkey is helping Russia in some very significant ways

Russia is likely to give Turkey a lot of leeway in Syria

    By Craig C. White

June 11, 2022 ANKARA: As a NATO member Turkey will veto membership for Finland and Sweden. How important do you think that is to Russia? Turkish President Erdogan is also blocking the Bosphorus to NATO ships. So there will be no NATO ships in the Black Sea near Russia. Turkey is also opening their ports to ship Russian oil.

Now let’s look at the Bible. Jeremiah 49:23-27 describes the destruction of Damascus. Jeremiah says that the destruction of Damascus will begin in the northwestern Syria cities of Hamah and Tell Rifaat. Tel Rifaat is called Arpad in Jeremiah 49:23.

Jer 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

Turkey is helping Russia in some very significant ways

This week Turkey announced that they will  establish a new military post in northwestern Hamah. One week ago Turkish President Erdogan announced that Tell Rifaat will be the next target. Hamah and Tell Rifaat are hearing evil reports.

While Russia has been busy in Ukraine; Turkey has accrued a lot of political clout with Russia. Turkey will attack northwestern Syria and then destroy Damascus. Russia is likely to give Turkey a lot of leeway in Syria.

    Concerning Damascus

    By Craig C. White

May 23, 2022 – Turkish President Erdogan said that Turkey will conduct a new offensive into northern Syria to clear out the Kurds. “We will soon take new steps regarding the incomplete portions of the project we started on the 30-km deep safe zone we established along our southern border,” Erdogan said. It is expected that Turkey will attack the northwestern city of Tell Rifaat next.

Jeremiah 49:23 says that when Hamah and Tell Rifaat hear evil reports then Damascus will be destroyed.

Jeremiah 49:23 mentions Hamah and Arpad (Tell Rifaat). We should probably expect Turkey to attack the Syrian Army in Hamah and the Kurds in Tell Rifaat.

The Turkish lead attack on Damascus may be the next prophetic event. The destruction of Damascus may be one of a few events that will happen before the Rapture.

I think that after Turkey destroys Damascus they will then lead the forces that are fighting in Syria into northern Israel. I think that Ezekiel chapter 38 tells us that Jesus will return to stop them. I think that the Rapture will happen at that time.

    Resurrection

    Resurrection

Because Jesus lives we will live.

    By Craig C. White

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ happened three days after his death. Every person will also be resurrected. The Resurrection is the raising up again to life of the dead.

1Co 15:3-4  Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  4  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

What hope do we have that we will be resurrected? Because Jesus rose bodily from the grave we have confidence that one day we will rise likewise!

Act 17:31  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Christ rose in his physical body. All people who trust him will also rise in their physical bodies! The verse below is part of a song. This song will be sung by the citizens of Judea at Christ’s second coming.

Isa 26:19  Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Jesus Christ died and then rose from the dead in his physical body. He now sits on the right hand of God in heaven.

Rom 8:34  Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Because Jesus rose up alive in his body, we can have confidence that we will also rise from the dead to eternal life.

1Th 4:13-14  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Even your loved ones who are dead will live again. All who put their faith in Jesus will rise up again in their bodies and live! We will be raised bodily and live forever with God. That’s the way God meant life to be. Life is Eternal. Can’t you see that this is true? Do not think that you won’t see your family again. You will see them if they have faith in God.

Joh 5:28-29  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,  29  And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Every person will come out of the grave. The faithful believing will live. The unbelieving and wicked will be thrown into the lake of fire forever. This is called the second death (Rev 20:14). There is no coming back from the second death. Don’t harden your heart towards God. Don’t stiffen your neck! There is eternal life at stake, and eternal hell to pay! Humble yourself and pray. God will hear the prayer of an open heart. Jesus died in our place. God raised him again so we would have hope for our own resurrection.

By the way, I expect the next resurrection to occur in the next year or two. I’m going to run down to the cemetery and greet them.

Resurrection note: It may be that just as Jesus Christ was raised from the grave on the third day; that when he returns to Israel at the end of the Tribulation period he will also revive the surviving Jewish people for two days and then raise up from the dead all believing Jews since Abraham on the third day.

Hosea 6:1-2  Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.  2  After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
