“North quarters” refers to the northern provinces of Turkey

Gog and Magog is Turkey not Russia!

    Ezekiel 38:6

    By Craig C. White

Almost every modern day Bible prophecy teacher says that Gog and Magog in Ezekiel chapter 38 refers to Russia. Ezekiel chapter 38 describes an end time invasion into Israel. They say that Russia will lead Iran, Sudan, and Libya into Israel. Very unfortunately these Bible prophecy buffs are wrong. They use the following verse to conclude that the term “north quarters” identifies the nation that is located furthest to the north of Israel. But hold on just a minute. The term “north quarters” is used elsewhere in the Bible. It always refers to the northern part of a region. It does not refer to a far north nation that is outside of a particular region.

Ezekiel 38:6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

For decades Bible prophecy teachers have exercised exegetical gymnastics to equate the name Togarmah to mean Russia. That is because they are trying to fit the text to their preconceived interpretations. When identifying nations and places the Bible is typically much more straightforward. Togarmah isn’t a nation to the far north of Israel. Instead Togarmah is a northern province inside of the borders of Turkey. Most Bible maps identify Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah as provinces located inside of the land that we call Turkey. All of these names are mentioned in Ezekiel chapter 38. Just for your information, the highest population density in Turkey is around Istanbul in the far northwestern region of Turkey. Ezekiel is saying that the people of northern Turkey will participate in this invasion into Israel.

The term “north quarters” is comprised of two Hebrew words. Tsaphon meaning northward or northern side and yerekah meaning to the rear of the border. These definitions are from the Strong Hebrew dictionary.

    tsâphôn tsâphôn
    tsaw-fone’, tsaw-fone’
properly hidden, that is, dark; used only of the north as a quarter (gloomy and unknown): – north (-ern, side, -ward, wind).

    yerêkâh
    yer-ay-kaw’
properly the flank; but used only figuratively, the rear or recess: – border, coast, part, quarter, side.

Outside of the book of Ezekiel the words tsaphon and yerekah are used together only twice more in the Bible. In Psalm 48:2 and also in Isaiah 14:13 tsaphon and yerekah refer to the north side of Mount Zion. In Psalm 48:2 the phrase “the sides of the north” are the same two Hebrew words that are translated as “north quarters” in Ezekiel 38:6. In Psalm 48:2 below “the sides of the north” identify the north side of Mount Zion in Jerusalem. From there you can view all of the city of Old Jerusalem.

Psalm 48:2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

The north quarters of Mount Zion are within the boundaries of Mount Zion. They are not identifying a far distant northern land. The phrase “the sides of the north” is used in the same way in Isaiah 14:13.

Here is a side note. The two words Hebrew words tsaphon and yerekah are also used in Jeremiah 6:22 but they are not used together. Jeremiah 6:22 does describe a north country. The Hebrew word erets is translated as country in Jeremiah 6:22. The Hebrew word erets very specially means land, or nation, or country. For example, the official Hebrew name for the nation of Israel is Eretz Yisrael meaning the land of Israel. So you can see that the Hebrew language could have very specifically identified Togarmah in Ezekiel 38:6 as a nation but it did not!

Jeremiah 6:22 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.

Jeremiah chapter 6 describes the same invasion into Jerusalem and Judea as does Matthew chapter 24. This is the time of Jerusalem’s great tribulation (Matthew 24:21). I won’t take the time to prove it here but Turkey is the northern nation that attacks Jerusalem and Judea to begin their terrible time of trouble.

So the “north quarters” in Ezekiel 38:6 refer to the northern provinces inside of the borders of Turkey. The term “north quarters” never refers to Russia. Turkey is the nation that will lead Iran, Sudan, and Libya into Israel. By the way all of these nations are fighting inside of Syria today! After Turkey conquers Syria and destroys Damascus then Turkey will lead the armies that are fighting in Syria into Israel. Ezekiel chapter 39 describes another Turkish led invasion into Israel. It is the same as the battle of Armageddon. The ancient Assyrian invasions into northern Israel in 734 BC and the separate invasion into southern Israel in 701 BC are models for these two Turkish led end time invasions. It is very likely that after Turkey destroys Damascus that then they will lead an invasion into the Golan Heights. In the news lately there has been a world wide effort to take the Golan Heights away from Israel. Over the past couple of years Israel has already been forced to defend the Golan Heights from Iran and Libya in southern Syria.

In Ezekiel 38:6 “north quarters” refers to the northern provinces of Turkey. In the Bible “north quarters” never once refers to a far northern nation beyond the borders of the previously identified nation.

  • Jordan is all about refugees

    Jordan is all about refugees

    Damascus & Judea

    By Craig C. White

The Bible tells us that Jordan will be the home of many refugees during the end time.

Today about ten percent of Jordan’s population consists of refugees from Syria. When Damascus is destroyed many more Syrian refugees will flood into Jordan. They will head for the Jordanian town of Kerak. There is a large refugee camp in Kerak today.

Amos 1:5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.

Jordan will also be the home of many Israeli refugees during the Great Tribulation. They may also head for Kerak in the Moab region of Jordan. There is an ancient fortress there. Jordan will eventually turn against these Jewish refugees.

Isaiah 16:4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

Israeli’s from around Jerusalem are warned to flee to Jordan during the Great Tribulation. They will be sheltered and fed there for three and one half years. Psalm 83 is a prayer for help for the refugees as Jordan turns against them.

Psalm 83:3  They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

Jesus Christ will wipe out Jordan at the end of the Tribulation.

Isaiah 34:6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

When Jesus arrives in Jerusalem his clothed will be saturated with the blood of Jordanians and also with the blood of the other armies that have gathered in Jordan to destroy the Israeli refugees.

Isaiah 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

Jordan will also escape the clutches of the Antichrist!

Daniel 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

In the verses above, Edom, Moab, and Ammon are all ancient provinces in the country we now call Jordan.

  • Antichrist identified – Israel Invasion may follow Syria invasion!

Antichrist identified – Israel Invasion may follow Syria invasion!

The Battle of Gog and Magog parallels the Assyrian invasion into Syria and Israel (734 BC and 701 BC).

    By Craig C. White

I know that the names “Gog and Magog” sound strange to many ears. But these two names are becoming a profound part of the modern day fulfillment of Bible prophecy. There is much debate about who Gog and Magog are. First off, Magog was a man. His name can be found in the genealogies in Genesis 10:1-3 and 1Chronicles 1:5-6. Magog was the son of Japheth the son of Noah. After Noah’s flood, Magog and his brothers settled modern day Turkey. Gog is simply the name of the land that Magog settled. For more commentary about Magog, and his brothers, and his land please read my commentary titled “Magog Made Easy”.

Ezekiel 38 and 39 describe an invasion into Israel led by the primary governor (chief prince) of Turkey. This invasion is commonly called the battle of “Gog and Magog”. I think that Ezekiel 38 describes a separate invasion than does Ezekiel 39. I think that the Ezekiel 38 invasion will happen very soon. It will be led by Turkey after the destruction of Damascus, Syria.

Ezekiel 39 describes another battle that is also described in Revelation 16:12 – 21 and Rev 19:17-18. This battle is commonly known as the battle of Armageddon. According to Ezekiel 39, the second battle of Gog and Magog (or the battle of Armageddon) will happen a few years after the first battle (at the end of Israel’s seven year “Tribulation” period), and will also be led by the primary governor of Turkey. Remember that Magog was the prominent settler among his brothers. In Bible prophecy Magog represents the primary governor of Turkey. During these battles “Magog” may not always be the same person, but he will always be the primary governor of Turkey. Now, if somebody asks you who Magog is; you can answer them directly, “Magog is the primary governor of Turkey”. Today the President of Turkey is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He was Prime Minister of Turkey from 2003-2014. He sees himself as the new Sultan of a revived Ottoman empire. He is antagonistic towards Israel and a prime candidate for our modern day “Magog”. For a comparison between Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39 please read my commentary titled “Magog Made Easier”.

In Bible prophecy, the future Turkish led battles of “Gog and Magog” seem to correlate to the past Assyrian led invasions into Syria and Israel. The Assyrian led invasions happened in two parts. The first phase happened in 734 BC and the second phase in 701 BC. The first phase began with an invasion into Syria, and then a southward turn into northern Israel. At that time Israel was divided into two separate kingdoms. The northern kingdom headquartered in Samaria, and the southern kingdom headquartered in Jerusalem. The tribe of Ephraim refers to the northern kingdom of Israel. The invasion of northern Israel was led by the king of the Assyrian empire named Tiglath-pileser (2Ki 12:18 – 18:16, 1Ch 5:26, Isa 66:19, Hos 5:13 – 10:6, Amos 1:3-5). Tiglath-pileser is also known as “Pul” in the King James Bible. The southern kingdom of the tribe of Judah was spared during the first phase of the Assyrian invasion. The second round of the Assyrian invasion was led by the then Assyrian king named Sennacherib. The second phase of the Assyrian happened in 701 BC. This invasion reached into the southern part of Israel near Jerusalem.

Like the Assyrian invasions of old, the future invasions described in Ezekiel 38 and 39 will happen in two phases. Both battles will be instigated by the same nation; namely, Turkey. The first phase of the Turkish battles may begin with an invasion into Syria just like the first round of the Assyrian invasion in 734 BC. So it would seem that the destruction of Damascus as prophesied in Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49 24-27 may be closely associated with the Magog led invasion that is prophesied in Ezekiel 38. This sheds a great deal of light on current events and persons, as well as our position in the end time timeline. OK, now is the time to exercise some generosity. Give a poor guy some benefit. This is an astounding overview of prophetic events! As Christians, we should all be shouting this to every pastor and believer that we encounter. This is front page news! The city of Damascus is on the verge of destruction. All of the nations that will invade Israel as represented in Ezekiel 38:5 are now fighting in Syria. The Turkish army is amassed on the Syrian border. After the destruction of Damascus, the Turkish army may very well lead the armies of Iran, Sudan, and Libya in an invasion into Israel. Like I said, all of these armies are fighting in Syria today!

If we follow the Assyrian model then the invasion described in Ezekiel 38 may extend only into northern Israel. The invasion described in Ezekiel 39 will most certainly be accompanied by battles on every front throughout the entire land of Israel, including Jerusalem.

Isaiah 17:12-14 below also describes a multi-nation invasion into Israel.

Isa 17:12-14 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.14 And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

These verses refer to an event that happened around 701 BC. Assyria’s king Sennacherib was in position to attack the city of Jerusalem. Overnight, God wiped out his army while they slept. Isaiah 37:6 below describes God’s intervention.

Isa 37:36 Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

Isaiah 17:12-14 above contains similar language to that used in Ezekiel 38. It may be that these verses also implicate the near time Turkish led invasion into Israel. These same verses also sound similar to the swift destruction of Israel’s enemies in the day of the Lord’s vengeance at the end of Israel’s seven year “Tribulation” period.

News Flash: The end time invader of Israel is called the Assyrian in Isaiah 10 and several other passages. Just as the Assyrian kings invaded Syria and then Israel on two occasions, Magog will also do the same. This invader is the same person that we call the Antichrist. The Antichrist is also called a little horn in Daniel 7 and 8. A little horn is a term used to describe a prince. Magog is described as the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal in Ezekiel 38:3. So the primary prince of Turkey is the Antichrist. It seems to me that we are very close to identifying the Antichrist as being Turkish President and ex-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. God will use him to exercise his anger upon the nation of Israel, and Jesus Christ will destroy him at his coming.

Isa 10:5-6 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. 6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

The hypocritical nation described in the verse above is Israel. Yes this happened once before, but if you read the rest of Isaiah 10 you will discover that this passage ends with the returning of the Holy One of Israel and a returning of the people to him. So the Assyrian is yet to come.

2Thesalonians tells us that the reveling of the Antichrist on earth is the sign of Israel’s great tribulation (please read my book “The Fall of Satan and Rise of the Antichrist”). If we are close enough to these events that we are able to identify the key players, then the Resurrection of the dead, Rapture of Church, and the Tribulation period on earth must be very close indeed. It is High Time to Awake, and tell your pastor!

    The Burden of Egypt

    Pucker up your Sphinx!

    Isaiah 19

    By Craig C. White

Isaiah 19 tells us about “the burden of Egypt” in the last days. The burden of Egypt is the trouble that God will inflict upon them for their unbelief and hostility towards Israel. The Egyptian nation hasn’t been all bad, and neither is their fate. They will suffer seriously, but they will also be restored. Egypt took in Jacob and his family in time of drought, and preserved the nation of Israel (Gen 45). Of course they later enslaved the Hebrews, and God judged them. Christianity was the majority religion in Egypt during the 4th to 6th centuries. In 1965 Egyptian president Nasser said “Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel. The Arab people want to fight.” which led to the six day war. Egypt attacked Israel again in 1973 during the Yom Kippur war. In 1979 Egypt and Israel brokered a peace agreement, and have kept it until now. Until recently Egypt has hosted the Coptic Christians and has been at peace with Israel. But in the past few years Egypt has persecuted and killed the Coptic Christians, and has turned against Israel. Their ex-president Morsi is determined to place a Palestinian state inside the land of Israel. The events described in Isaiah 19 happen around the time of Jesus Christ’s second coming. Some of these events seem to be happening already!

Isaiah 19:1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

Jesus will swoop down into Egypt at his second coming. Many Christians think that Jesus will descend out of heaven and immediately stand on the mount of olives (Zec 14:4), but I think that God will first bring his son out of Egypt (Num 24:8-9)! Please read my commentary titled “Revelation Wrath Path”.

Isaiah 19:2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. 3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

Today we are seeing Egyptians fighting against Egyptians. It seems that half of all Egyptians are protesting their ex-ruler Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood as they grapple for absolute authority. The other half support the Muslim Brotherhood and are terrorizing the country. Lately Saudi Arabia has been working with the Egyptian interim government and are curtailing Muslim Brotherhood activities.

Isaiah 19:4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

Speaking of cruel lord; Egyptian ex-President Mohamed Morsi was Egypt’s first Islamist president. He is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Morsi believes in establishing an Islamic state in Egypt and also in Israel. He is trying to take complete control of the nation of Egypt. It is possible that Egypt has had its cruel lord! Morsi is being imprisoned today in an Egyptian army barracks. There have already been break out attempts made by the Muslim Brotherhood. It is possible that we haven’t seen the last of him. It is possible that President Morsi is Egypt’s cruel lord!

I think that Egypt’s ex-President Morsi may yet make a comeback. Morsi may also fulfill the role of Egypt’s fierce king. Turkish President Erdogan has vowed to reinstate ousted Egyptian President Morsi. Ultimately I think that Egypt will fall under the military might of Turkey but that is another story.

Isaiah 19:5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up. 6a And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up:

God will dry up the Nile River! Today Ethiopia and Sudan are beginning to use a lot more of the Nile’s water. Several foreign countries and large agricultural companies are leasing huge tracts of land to grow crops. Ethiopia has plans to build a huge hydroelectric dam. So much less water will be reaching the Egyptian shores downstream. I’m sure that this is all just coincidence.

Isaiah 19:6b the reeds and flags shall wither. 7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more. 8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish. 9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded. 10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.

Everything that grows along the Nile River will die. The Nile River supports most of the population living along it. Those folks will lose their way of making a living. Fishing in the Nile will cease. Flax will no longer grow along the Nile. Flax is used to make fine linen. The entire nation will become impoverished.

Isaiah 19:11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings? 12 Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt. 13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof. 14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit. 15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.

Zoan is a city in the Nile delta. Noph is the Hebrew name for the ancient Egyptian city of Memphis. It is near Cairo today. Verses 11-14 are saying that the Egyptian leadership will make stupid decisions. Every idea that they have will result in further ruin. Today top Muslim clerics are urging the destruction of the Egyptian pyramids, Sphinx, and other non Islamist monuments. That sounds like a bad idea to me. That would eradicate tourism to Egypt forever in one day. Egypt will be left without industry or livelihood.

Isaiah 19:16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it. 17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.

Egypt will fear southern Israel, with whom they share a border. Judah is southern Israel including Jerusalem. Because of Egypt’s worsening condition, the Egyptian people will realize that the God of Israel has it in for them. Perhaps they will read Isaiah 19.

Isaiah 19:18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction. 19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD. 20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them. 21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.

After Egypt’s time of trouble the people will turn to the God of Israel! I don’t think that the word “savior” in verse 20 refers to Jesus. But Jesus will send another person to Egypt to deliver the people from their tyrannical leadership. I think that these events happen sometime after Jesus returns and sets up his throne in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 19:22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.

Verse 22 summarizes Isaiah 19. Now let me summarize verse 22. Egypt will suffer seriously, but then they will be restored.

Isaiah 19:23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

Assyria is best represented today by northern Iraq. Guess what? This represents the land area that God originally gave to Abraham! God will keep his promise!

Gen 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Erdogan is proving that Turkey can also ruin the US economy

    By Craig C. White

Holy Toledo what a story! Turkey is using the murder of Saudi journalist to weaken the US economy.

On October 2, 2018 Saudi journalist Jamal Kashoggi was murdered inside of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey. Kashoggi was a pro-Muslim Brotherhood journalist who was critical of the Saudi Government. Turkish President Erdogan is the hegemonic figure of the Muslim Brotherhood. The very instant that Kashoggi was murdered the Turkish press began a continual media blitz. With each report more gory details are uncovered. Turkey is using the Kashoggi murder to sway international opinion against Saudi Arabia and by association against the US. Now Turkish President Erdogan is demanding that US President Donald Trump cut economic ties with Saudi Arabia.

The Kashoggi incident happens to coincide with the release of US Pastor Andrew Brunson. President Trump employed economic sanctions against Turkey in order to gain cooperation for Brunson’s release, nearly ruining Turkey’s economy. Erdogan is now proving that Turkey can also ruin the US economy.

The Turkish media is controlled by President Erdogan. It seems that even before Kashoggi’s death that the Turkish press had prepared their media blitz. This is causing many to wonder if Turkey had known what was lying in store for Kashoggi even before he entered the consulate.

End Time Bible Prophecy happening now!

    Syria invasion precedes Israel invasion

    By Craig C. White

There is a major end time Bible prophecy looming over our heads. All of the players are in place. We are only waiting for the event to be triggered. That trigger is the destruction of Damascus, Syria. Keep reading! The destruction of Damascus is not a single isolated event. It begins a series of major end time Bible prophecies including an invasion into Israel!

I look at the headlines every day expecting to see that Turkey has invaded Syria. Is this a biblical prophecy that has been foretold? Yes. Like the ancient Assyrian King Tiglath-pileser in 734 BC a future prince will invade Syria and then invade Israel! This prince is joined by Iran, Libya, and Sudan. All of these armies are fighting in Syria today! By the way Ezekiel chapter 38 tells us that this prince is from Turkey!

I think that the Turkish Army will invade Syria and destroy Damascus as prophesied in Isaiah 17:1 and Jeremiah 49:24-27. Turkey will then lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria southward only a few miles into Israel.

You will find all of this fully explained verse by verse in my book Turkey invades Israel – Halfway to Armageddon. Please get a copy and read it! Please don’t be in the dark when these events begin happening. Understand the events of our times and where they are leading! • A Beast is an Empire

    A Beast is an Empire

Here a beast. There a beast. Everywhere a beast beast!

    By Craig C. White

We are going to identify every beast in the bible! The word beast simply means a wild animal. The bible uses wild animals to identify man ruled governments that are rebellious toward God. Beasts typically represent empires or unions. Ancient World Empires are identified by different wild animals in the bible. These animals were actually the symbols of these empires.

The bible also identifies future empires that are also symbolized by wild animals. Some of these empires already exist today. For instance Russia just formed a new economic Union. Everybody knows that Russia is symbolized by a bear. The bible identifies this end time Russian Union as a bear in Daniel 7:5.

There have been seven World Empires throughout history. These World Empires came to power one at a time. Each World Empire defeated the previous World Empire. Here is a list of them in order; Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Mede and Persian, Grecian, Roman, and Turkish (Ottoman). Some of these World Empires are represented by animals in the bible.

We are introduced to two animals that symbolize empires in Daniel chapter 8. These are the oldest World Empires that the bible symbolizes by animals. We are introduced to a ram and a goat. Dan 8:20 tells us that the ram in Dan 8:3 symbolizes the Mede and Persian Empire.

In the verses below; notice that the ram has two horns. Horns always represent rulers. The Mede and Persian Empire was a two division empire. The Medes are todays Kurds and Persia is known as Iran today.

Dan 8:3-4 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last. 4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

When Daniel gave this prophecy these events were still in the future. Now we can look back in world history and recognize the ram as the Mede and Persian Empire because it conquered territory in exactly the same way that Dan 8:4 describes. In today’s terms Persia first conquered Iraq, Syria, and Turkey to the west, then Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan to the north, then Persia moved southward and conquered southern Israel, Egypt, Sudan, Libya, and also western India.

In Dan 8:5 we are introduced to another empire that is represented by a goat. Dan 8:21 tells us that this goat symbolizes the Grecian Empire. The goat came after the ram. In Daniel chapter 8 the goat fights against the ram and defeats him. The goat symbolizes the Grecian Empire. The Grecian Empire defeated the Mede and Persian Empire around 450 BC. In Dan 8:5 the goat has one notable horn. Remember that horns represent rulers. This one horn represents Alexander the great who quickly conquered the known world.

Dan 8:5-9 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. 6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. 7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. 8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

In Dan 8:8 above; after his death in 323 BC Alexander the great’s empire was divided into four regions or dynasties. These dynasties were the Antipater Dynasty headquartered in Greece, the Ptolemy Dynasty headquartered in Egypt, the Arsacid Dynasty headquartered in Parthia (north eastern Iran today), and the Seleucid Dynasty headquartered in Syria. These four regions constituted the Grecian Empire. So the goat represents the Grecian Empire.

In Daniel chapter 7 three kingdoms combine to form one World Empire. These kingdoms are represented by a lion with eagle’s wings, a bear, and a leopard. Daniel doesn’t tell us exactly who these animals are. A lot of bible teachers say that these animals represent ancient World Empires. They say that the lion with eagle’s wings represents the Babylonian Empire. The symbol of the Babylonian Empire was in fact a lion but not with eagle’s wings. It has also been widely taught that the bear and the leopard are the same as the ram and the goat in Daniel chapter 8. I don’t think so. First of all the animals in Daniel chapter 7 are different than the animals in Daniel chapter 8. Also the bear and the leopard were not the actual symbols of these ancient World Empires. Moreover Ancient World Empires existed one at a time but the empires in Daniel chapter 7 all exist at the same time. In Daniel 7:12 we are told that the first three empires (or beasts) outlive the fourth World Empire.

Dan 7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

Again, some bible teachers say that Daniel’s prophecy about the lion with eagle’s wings represents the Babylonian Empire. Keep this in mind. Daniel received this prophecy during the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon (Dan 7:1). Belshazzar was the last king in Babylon. The Medes and Persians overran the city while Belshazzar drank wine from the holy vessels that his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had stolen from Israel’s temple in Jerusalem (Dan 5). So if Daniel identified the lion with eagle’s wings as the Babylonian Empire then his message was not prophetic at all. Daniel lived in the Babylonian Empire so he would know firsthand that their symbol was a lion (without eagle’s wings).

No, Daniel doesn’t tell us exactly who these animals are but the book of Revelation gives us a very good idea of when they exist. These three animals (or empires) combine to form the final man ruled World Empire that exists on earth during the Tribulation period. So the lion with eagle’s wings, the bear, and the leopard do not represent ancient world empires but instead future, end time empires.

Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Do any nations, empires, or unions exist today that are symbolized by a lion with eagle’s wings, or a bear, or a leopard? Yep. You probably could guess which nation uses the lion with eagle’s wings as their national symbol today. That nation is England. Can you think of a nation that uses the bear as its national symbol? Of course Russia is symbolized by a bear today. Is there a kingdom today that is represented by a leopard? No not yet but in December 2014 Turkish President Erdogan announced his plans to form a new Islamic Union that could span northern Africa, the Middle East, and central Asia. Will it choose the leopard to be its symbol? I think that it probably will.

The first three kingdoms in Daniel chapter 7 are symbolized by specific animals. There is also a forth kingdom that is not symbolized by one particular animal but in Daniel chapter 7 as well as Revelation chapter 13 it is simply called a beast. In Dan 7:17 we are told that these four kingdoms are ruled by four kings.

Dan 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

I think that four world leaders will conspire together to create this next World Empire. I think that most of those leaders are already in place today and well known. They include one ruler of England (possibly representing the entire European Union), one ruler of Russia (probably representing the newly created Russian Union), and possibly one ruler from a new Islamic Union. The forth king rules over the next World Empire and is most likely the Antichrist. But remember that Dan 7:7 tells us that the forth beast (or next World Empire) will initially be ruled by ten kings. So the forth beast in Daniel chapter 7 symbolizes the next World Empire. Israel will suffer under its rule but Jesus Christ will destroy it at his second coming.

I want to give one more beast in Daniel chapter 7 an honorable mention. In Dan 7:4 the lion gets its wings plucked off! We all know that the United States’ national symbol is the eagle. The US separated from English rule in 1776. The plucked off eagle’s wings could possibly indicate that the US will assist England in the formation of the next World Empire.

There is another beast mentioned in Revelation that appears after the next World Empire is formed. It is symbolized by a lamb and a dragon.

Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

This beast has two horns which represent two rulers. These rulers are like a lamb. Jesus Christ is called the Lamb of God. Since the two rulers of this beast are like a lamb but they speak like a dragon it is thought that this beast represents a false Christian-like World Religion. Pope Francis is campaigning for Catholic, Protestant, and Muslim unity so I think that this two headed beast may be a Catholic and Muslim hybrid religion.

Here are four different kinds of beasts. They are not wild animals. These beasts do not represent empires. Four beasts sit around the throne of God in the book of Revelation. The word translated beast in Revelation chapter 4 and chapter 6 is a different word describing a different kind of beast. These beasts are not wild animals. The word translated as beast here means a living being. These beasts are not symbolic. They are actual animals created by God to worship him. These living creatures are also described in Ezekiel chapter 1.

Rev 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

There is one more beast in the bible that represents a kingdom on earth. This kingdom is the final World Empire. Ancient World Empires didn’t actually cover the entire world but this kingdom will. Ancient World Empires didn’t last forever but this one will. This empire isn’t symbolized by a wild animal but it is symbolized by a meek and gentle one. This empire is symbolized by a Lamb!

Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Jesus Christ is the Lamb that pours out his wrath on the kings of the earth (Rev 6:16). Jesus Christ is the Lamb that will sit on the throne of the kingdom of God forever!

The Antichrist is not from Assyria!

    The Antichrist is from Turkey

    By Craig C. White

The Bible compares the Antichrist to the ancient Assyrian Kings. A lot of people assume that the Antichrist must come from Assyria or northern Iraq. That is a wrong assumption. The Antichrist will not come from northern Iraq. The Antichrist is compared to the Assyrian kings because the Antichrist will do the same things that the Assyrian kings did!

What did the Assyrian kings do? The Assyrians conquered Syria and then invaded northern Israel. Latter they returned to invade southern Israel.

Today Turkey is poised to launch a major ground invasion into Syria. Turkey will invade Syria, destroy Damascus, and then lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into Israel.

The Antichrist isn’t from Assyria. The Antichrist is from Turkey. Turkish President Erdogan will do the same things that the Assyrian kings did. Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist!

  • We will be changed at the last trump!

We will be changed at the last trump!

But not at the seventh trumpet

    1Corinthians 15:52

    By Craig C. White

A lot of Christians equate the last trump in 1Corinthians 15:52 with the seventh trumpet judgement in Revelation 10:7. This assumption sometimes leads them to conclude that the Rapture will happen during the Tribulation period.

I don’t think that the last trump in 1Corinthians 15:52 correlates at all with the trumpet judgements of Revelation. The trumpet calls serve different purposes. The trumpet call in 1Corinthians is a call to gather the Church. The seven trumpet calls in Revelation are announcements of judgement on the earth. I think that the trumpet call in 1Corinthians 15:52 is a separate trumpet call than the seven trumpet calls in Revelation. The word trump is different than the word trumpet. I think that the last trump in 1Corinthians 15:52 is the last note of God’s trumpet that is played while gathering his Church. The dead in Christ will rise while the trumpet is sounded. When the trumpet call ends then those Christians that were alive when the resurrection began will be changed!

1Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

A Soul is like a Seed

It must open in order to produce new life.

    By Craig C. White

A soul is like a seed. Or perhaps I should say that a seed is like a soul. I think that God created seeds to illustrate how life renews itself and how our own souls live and also all too often die. God gave the first living thing a seed!

Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

A seed is designed to produce new life. It has a hard outer shell and a center that is capable of becoming a whole new plant. Our souls are similar. Our hearts house and protect our spirit. Our spirits are capable of growing into something greater. Regrettably, most souls never yield new life. Jesus compared a person’s soul to a wheat seed.

John 12:24-25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

In order for a seed to grow it needs to open its outer shell. If it doesn’t open its shell then it cannot become anything more than a seed and it dies. In the same way, our hearts must open to God’s spirit in order to renew our life. If our hearts remain closed then our spirits cannot be renewed by the Holy Spirit of God.

Did you know that a seed opens from the inside? When conditions are right the embryo swells and breaks open the outer shell. Our hearts must also open from the inside. The Spirit of God is always outside of our hard hearts beckoning us. When we hear him we must push our shell apart in order to let him in.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

When you sow seeds into the ground you have expectations that they will grow back up out of the ground and produce new life and fruit. The seed will be gone but a new plant will grow in its place. If a seed represents a soul then the fleshy fruit represents our body. In the same way that a seed becomes a plant, our bodies will become something greater. If our bodies are sown into the ground they will be raised up again but they will be changed. Our bodies will be raised in much better condition. They will endure forever!

1Corinthians 15:42-44 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

A seed doesn’t just become another seed, but it becomes something much more. If our souls are germinated by God’s Spirit then we will also become something greater.

1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Because of sin our spirits cannot regenerate our bodies alone. We need God’s everlasting Spirit. Without God’s spirit our souls and bodies will wither and die. If our souls hold the Spirit of God, then even though our bodies die they will be made alive again!

Romans 8:10-11 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Jesus’ own resurrection is proof that if we receive God’s Spirit in our souls then our bodies will also be made whole. Our body may wither and die but because our soul has been made alive by God’s everlasting Spirit, our body will also one day be renewed.

1Peter 1:23-25 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

If a person never receives the Spirit of God then he will never be renewed. He will be dead forever. As you can imagine, being dead forever is really bad. Unfortunately it’s even worse than that. When a plant is dead it is used for firewood to be burned. When a person is dead God also tosses him into the fire.

John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Just like the rain falls on every seed, God’s Spirit is offered to every heart. If a person hardens their heart to God’s Spirit, then their soul and body are cast into hell to be burned.

Hebrews 6:7-8 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

If the soul of a man resembles a seed, and man was also made in God’s image (Gen 1:26), then perhaps God is like a seed. Does that sound farfetched?

Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

In the verse below, the apostle John calls Jesus the Word. The Word was with God. The English word with is translated from the Greek word pros. Pros means to be facing or toward. Pros can be translated literally as being face to face. So the Word (Jesus) was face to face with God.

John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

If you have ever cracked open an almond you have noticed that the nut has two halves. Just as the two halves of a seed are face to face; Jesus was face to face with God. Jesus was very near to God. Jesus was God. You know, you might even say that God was a nut! But you probably shouldn’t say that in church!

A soul is the spiritual seed of a man. It can grow into something new or it can wither and die.

a soul is like a seed
