Will the mark of the beast be worldwide?
Microchips are best served with a grain of salt.

Revelation 13:16 says that during the Tribulation all people must receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads in order to buy or sell. This is called “the mark of the beast”. This beast represents the next world empire. So the mark of the beast identifies you as a faithful follower of the next world empire. This leads me to ask, “Will the next world empire really cover the entire world?” “Does the word “all” really mean all people in the entire world?” The Bible sheds light on these questions.
Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
A fanciful idea has sprung up and has also taken root in Christian circles; the idea that every person in the entire world will be faced with the decision of receiving a microchip identification implant in their right hand or in their forehead. If you accept this microchip then you are going to hell! This keeps Christians up at night. They are awaiting the announcement, “The world is instituting a mandatory microchip ID program!” The Bible does say that a mark will be worn. But it doesn’t specifically define a microchip. The Bible doesn’t specifically say that all of the world will be subject to the mark of the next world empire. I can prove it.
Bible scholars say that one of the ancient world empires will be revived during the Tribulation period. Many identify this world empire as being a revived Roman Empire (which is a mistake). Others identify this end time empire as being a revived Turkish ruled Ottoman Empire (which is correct). Either way, everybody agrees that a previous world empire will be reestablished. Now we must ask ourselves, “Did any past world empire cover the entire geographic area of the world?” The answer is absolutely not. So the next world empire cannot cover the entire geographic area of the world. Otherwise it would not be an old world empire that has been revived but it would have to be categorized as some new kind of world empire altogether. Like every past world empire I would expect that the next world empire will cover roughly the geographic area between Europe and India including northern Africa. This by and large identifies the Islamic world today.
Then who will be asked to wear the mark of the next world empire? Well it follows that the people who live in the region of the next world empire will be required to wear the identifying mark of the next world empire. Today all Muslims living in the region of the former Turkish ruled Ottoman Empire already wear the identifying mark of Islam. They all wear the “bismillah” on their right arms or on their foreheads. The bismillah is an armband or headband with the Arabic words saying “In the name of Allah” written on them. The bismillah is worn by every Islamic sect from Morocco to India. Now allow me to tell you something even more astonishing. The three Greek letters that spell “six hundred sixty six” are the same Arabic characters that spell “In the name of Allah”. It seems that the mark of Islam will be the mark of the next world empire. There are no microchips needed.
When Bible prophecy is written about world events it is typically about how these events affect Israel. So I would expect that the mark of the next world empire will also be applied in Israel. This would certainly cause hardship for Israeli Jews who honor the God of their fathers; Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Although let me point out that during talks with Turkish religious leaders regarding building a new Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, several top Israeli rabbis have already agreed that Israel and Islam serve the same God. It is conceivable that these rabbis would be willing to wear the Islamic armband for the sake of peace; the chief among these rabbis being temple activist and Israeli Parliament member Rabbi Yehuda Glick.
Turkish President Erdogan intends to unite the Islamic world under Turkish rule. Erdogan intends to recreate the Turkish ruled Ottoman Empire. Islam promises an empire that will rule the world. Many Islamic nations are already on-board with Erdogan as their promised Mahdi. Syria isn’t. That is why Turkey will conquer Syria and destroy Damascus. But I digress.
The Micro-chipping of every world citizen has become an indisputable doctrine in the Christian Church. But that is mere fantasy. The mark of the beast identifies you as a faithful follower of the next world empire. The next world empire will not include the entire world. The next world empire will cover the same geographic area of a past world empire. When it comes to microchips they are best served with a grain of salt. Oh and with guacamole of course!

Well it’s about to happen again.

If we understand Bible prophecy and Bible history then we should expect things to heat up along Israel’s northern border. Iran is threatening to attack Israel. The Syrian Army has tanks on the Golan Heights. Israel told Iran to leave Syria or else. Something’s got to give.
In 734 BC Israel was also having trouble with Syria. Israel asked Assyria for help fighting against Syria. After Assyria conquered Damascus then they attacked northern Israel. This is a model for end time events that are unfolding now.
So if Iran and Syria attack Israel on their northern border then that isn’t the big news. The bigger news is that Turkey will destroy Damascus in the guise of helping Israel BUT after Turkey destroys Damascus then they will lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into northern Israel.
I expect hysterics from Christians when Israel and Syria and Iran begin fighting. They will say “World War III has begun!” Nobody will understand what truly is coming. Turkey will destroy Damascus and then lead an invasion into Israel. When they do I think that Jesus Christ will return to cause them to retreat. At that time Jesus will also collect you and me. Don’t wait for your pastor to tell you about theses things. The Church age is almost over. It’s High Time to Awake!

Syria vows to attack Israel unless it withdraws from the Golan Heights

This week the Syrian government delivered an official warning to the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization saying that Syria will attack Israel unless it withdraws from the Golan Heights.
This is interesting in light of Bible prophecy. In 734 BC Syria threatened to attack Israel. So Israel asked Assyria for help to fight against Syria. Assyria then conquered northern Syria and devastated Damascus. Then Assyria attacked northern Israel.
Today conditions in Syria are much the same. The Turkish Army has already begun its conquest of northern Syria. Turkey would be happy to vanquish the Assad regime under any pretext. Turkey would also be eager to lead the Islamic forces that are now fighting in Syria into the Golan Heights of northern Israel.
I wonder if Israel will ask Turkey for help fighting against Syria on the Golan Heights? Since Turkey is a NATO ally of the US, they would be the clear candidate in the region.

Turkey plans to take full control over Kurdish held northeastern Syria as well as the Idlib province in the northeast. The US is in the process of removing its troops from northeastern Syria. Syria plans to move troops into northeastern Syria to fill the void but Turkey insists that they must control the Kurdish region. Turkey plans to do this before Syrian forces enter northeastern Syria so time is short.
Idlib is located next to Syrian held Hamah. The Prophet Jeremiah says that when Hamah and Tell Rifaat hear evil reports then the residents of Damascus will flee and Damascus will be destroyed.
Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
The destruction of Damascus is forming. Now is the time to study Jeremiah 49:23-27. It is High Time to Awake.

There is a widely held thought that the Bible teaches that the Antichrist will be Jewish. I do not agree at all. The Antichrist will be the ruler of the next world empire. Just like the ruler of every past world empire; he will be from a gentile nation.
Some say that the Antichrist must be Jewish because only a Jew could get the nation of Israel to follow him as their new messiah. They get that idea by assuming that the term “anti-Christ” means a counterfeit messiah. That is not the meaning that the Bible portrays. The prefix “anti” means against. The Antichrist will stand against the God of Israel. The Antichrist will not come as an imitation Jewish messiah but he will come as the oppressive ruler of the next world empire. Like most rulers of past world empires he will also claim that he is god.
2Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Folks that say that the Antichrist will be Jewish use the following verses to support their view. They say that the phrase “the God of his fathers” refers to the God of Israel. If you ask me, that argument is hardly conclusive. First of all every nation has its own God or Gods. So the God of his fathers could describe a person from any nation. Second, the word translated as God in English is actually the plural form in Hebrew. So the following verse may be better translated as “the gods of his fathers”. That would definitely exclude Israel since they have only one God.
Daniel 11:37-38 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. 38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
Now let’s look at what else these verses say. In verse 38 it says that in his estate the Antichrist will honor the God of forces. The word translated as “estate“ can mean a base or place of operation.
*Estate: used as a noun; a stand, that is, pedestal or station: – base, estate, foot, office, place, well.
The word translated as forces refers to military power.*Forces; a fortified place; figuratively a defence: – force, fort (-ress), rock, strength (-en), (X most) strong (hold).
Reading the rest of Dan 11:38 we see that the Antichrist will honor the God of military power with gold and silver and other luxurious things. Where will the Antichrist display all of this wealth as he attempts to honor his god? The Antichrist may in fact honor the God of military power in his base of operation. Where do the rulers of world empires operate? They operate out of palaces.
Let me tell you a true story that is happening right now. Newly elected Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has built a new 1,000 room, 3.1 million square foot palace for himself that cost the Turkish government $615 million dollars! President Erdogan’s new palace is the most expensive palace in the world today! It is a palace worthy of biblical mention.
As you might expect Turkish citizens as well as Turkish leaders have protested the costliness of Erdogan’s new palace. Erdogan responded by saying, “No one can prevent the completion of this building. If they are powerful enough, let them come and demolish it.”
The palace is known as the “White Palace” and sits upon a hilltop overlooking Turkey’s capital city of Ankara. The White Palace is bigger than the Whitehouse. It is bigger than the Kremlin. It is bigger than the palace of Versailles. This is where President Erdogan now lives. Inside his new home President Erdogan often has Turkish soldiers dress in the period correct armor of Ottoman Empire era military. He isn’t honoring his Islamic religion but instead Turkish President Erdogan is honoring the world conquest of the old Ottoman Empire!
In February 2015 Erdogan announced that he will rename the “White Palace” as the “Presidential Kulliye”. A kulliye is the name of the grounds surrounding a mosque. These grounds typically house support services for the mosque such as kitchens and guest quarters. The new name gives the presidential home religious significance. President Erdogan says that the palace symbolizes a resurgent Turkey. What he means to say is, “The palace is the headquarters of a revived Turkish ruled Ottoman Empire”. He has already publicly declared his intentions to create a new Turkish led Islamic Union.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan describes himself as a moderate Muslim while he ardently proclaims himself to be a Turk. He served as Prime Minister from 2003 to 2014. He was elected as President of Turkey in December 2014. Inside his base of operation he doesn’t honor the gods of his fathers but instead he honors the armies of his countries past. He honors the Turkish conquest of the world. I hope that by now you have guessed that I think that Turkish President Erdogan is the top candidate to be the ruler of the next world empire.
The Bible tells us that the man we call the Antichrist will be from a gentile nation.
Throughout Bible prophecy a beast represents a gentile ruled government that is rebellious towards the God of Israel. Gentile simply means nation. A beast is often described as coming out of the sea. The sea represents the gentile nations of the world. These are primarily the nations of the ancient world. In Revelation 13:1 below a beast rises out of the sea. Daniel 7:3 also describes the final gentile world empire as coming out of the sea.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Beasts in the Bible usually describe world empires that are ruled over by gentile nations. There have been seven world empires throughout world history. They are in order; the Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Grecian, Roman, and Turkish Ottoman Empire. There will be one more world empire ruled by the gentile nations. Every ruler of every world empire was a gentile from out of these ancient nations. Not one ruler was Jewish. The ruler of the next world empire that we call the Antichrist will be a gentile out of a gentile nation. The Antichrist will be a gentile. The Antichrist will not be Jewish.
Turkish President Erdogan is poised to attack Damascus and then to invade Israel. These are things that the Bible tells us that the Antichrist will do! Must I say it again? It is High Time to Awake!

Turkish troops are amassed near Hamah and Tell Rifaat
We are on the cusp of Jeremiah 49:23

This week we are at the very edge of unfolding Bible prophecy. Jeremiah tells us that Hamah and Arpad in northwestern Syria will be attacked and then Damascus will be destroyed. The city of Arpad is called Tell Rifaat today.
Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
We are so close to these events that this week Turkish President Erdogan announced that Tell Rifaat is the next city that the Turkish Army plans to attack. There have also been rumors that the Turkish Army has already conquered Tell Rifaat, and further denials by the Turkish government saying that they had not yet entered the city. We have also heard that Syrian supported Iranian militia have left Tell Rifaat in front of the pending Turkish attack. Now we are hearing that Syrian forces have entered Tell Rifaat. So apparently Turkey has not yet begun their assault on Tell Rifaat.
We are hearing evil reports about Tell Rifaat but let’s not forget about Hamah. The Syrian Army controls Hamah. The Syrian Army in the Hamah province is fighting against the Al-Qaeda rebel forces in the adjacent Idlib province. This week the Turkish Army has continued to bring troops into Idlib. Also this week more Al-Qaeda rebel forces have been bused into Idlib from the Ghouta neighborhood of northeastern Damascus. The Al-Qaeda rebels in Ghouta were the last outpost of rebel activity near Damascus. Lately the Al-Qaeda rebels in Ghouta have been shelling downtown Damascus. The Syrian Army finally drove them out this week.
The final analysis is that Turkish and Al-Qaeda troops are amassed near Hamah and Tell Rifaat.
Expect to hear reports about a Turkish led assault on Syrian forces in Hamah in conjunction with reports about the Turkish attack on Tell Rifaat. Turkish and Al-Qaeda forces have been amassing in the Idlib province near Hamah.
In Bible history Hamah and Tell Rifaat were regional and religious capitals of ancient Syria. These towns worshiped separate false deities. Today these two towns are controlled by different people. Hamah is controlled by the Syrian government and Tell Rifaat is controlled by the Kurds. In the Bible Hamah and Tell Rifaat represent northwestern Syria as a whole. In the following verses the ancient Assyrians are recounting their victories over Hamah and Tell Rifaat in 734 BC: 2Kgs 18:34; Isa 36:19, 2Kgs 19:13; Isa 37:13.
2Kings 18:34 Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? have they delivered Samaria out of mine hand?
In the previous verse the Assyrians are intimidating the Jews in southern Israel by reminding them that the Gods of northwestern Syria could not deliver Hamah and Arpad out of the hands of the Assyrian Army. Neither could the God of northern Israel deliver them. Assyria conquered Syria and invaded northern Israel in 734 BC.
If you are smart then by now you should be asking yourself, “Couldn’t Jeremiah 49:23 pertain to the Assyrian conquest of Syria and of northern Israel in 734 BC?”. Wow that is a very astute question. Yes Jeremiah could pertain to 734 BC but it doesn’t because Jeremiah gave his prophecy one hundred years after the Assyrians conquered Syria and northern Israel. So Jeremiah’s prophecy applies to a future event. We should realize however that the 734 BC Assyrian conquest of Syria and of northern Israel is a model for what is just about to happen in Syria today! Turkey will attack Hamah and Tell Rifaat in northwestern Syria and then destroy Damascus. After that Turkey will invade northern Israel!

Three events stand between us and the beginning of the Tribulation period.
1) First Turkey will invade Syria near Hamah and Tell-Rifaat (or Arpad as described in Jeremiah 49:23-17). Then the Turkish army will march southward to destroy Damascus.
2) Second Turkey will lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into the Golan Heights of Israel. This invasion will not go well. God will fight against them with a tremendous earthquake, torrential rain, disease, and infighting. This Turkish led invasion into Israel is known as the battle of Gog and Magog in Ezekiel chapter 38. Gog is Turkey Magog is its ruler.
3) Third an international peace treaty will be made concerning Turkey and Israel. It will have a seven year term and include provision for building a new Jewish temple in Jerusalem (Dan 9:27). This treaty officially begins the Tribulation period. It is a time of suffering for Israel. The Tribulation period is also a time of great wars and terrible natural disasters world wide.
I think that Jesus Christ will return to repel the Turkish led invaders when they enter the Golan Heights of Israel. I think that Jesus will also gather Church age believers at this time. Jesus Christ will return to rescue his Church from the coming chaos of the Tribulation period. So Christians will not be around to witness the signing of the seven year term peace treaty that will be made concerning Israel.
Turkish President Erdogan is the Antichrist. He will destroy Damascus and then invade the Golan Heights. Afterwards I think that a peace deal will be made beginning the seven year Tribulation period.

Fourth Sochi Summit
Russia, Turkey, and Iran meet on Syria

SOCHI, Russia – February 15, 2019 – This week Russia, Turkey, and Iran held their fourth round of talks on Syria in the Russian town of Sochi. Russia insists that Turkey take control of the Al-Qaeda group Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham in the northwestern Syria province of Idlid.
During the summit Russia and Turkey agreed to take “decisive measures” against Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham. Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham was previously known as Al-Nusra front and is the Syrian affiliate of Al-Qaeda. Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham is considered to be a radical rebel group. Russia and Turkey had previously agreed to create a demilitarized zone around the Idlib province. Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham has violated this agreement and has taken control over most of the demilitarized zone. Turkey has now agreed to clear Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham from the Idlib province.
Things are not necessarily what they seem. At the same time that Turkey has agreed to fight against Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham, Turkey is also trying to bring them into the Turkish controlled “Syrian National Army”. The Syrian National Army is a collection of Al-Qaeda groups in Idlib under Turkish leadership.
Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham is not a natural enemy of Turkey. Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham served as security guards for the Turkish Army when the Turkish Army first entered the Idlib province. ISIS, Al-Nusra, all other Al-Qaeda factions, the Free Syrian Army, and Turkey are all Sunni Muslim. They are all in cahoots. Do you really think that Turkey will defeat Al-Nusra in Idlib?
Here is my guess. At some point Turkey will lead all of the Al-Qaeda groups in Idlib including Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham against the Syrian Army in Hamah.
The Prophet Jeremiah says that when Hamah and Tell Rifaat hear evil reports then the residents of Damascus will flee and Damascus will be destroyed. The Turkish Army is arrayed against both of these cities today.

Here are the main points that came out of this latest Sochi summit. Russia wants Turkey to defeat the Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham (Al-Nusra) Al-Qaeda group in Idlib. Turkey wants to expel Kurdish fighters from northeastern Syria. Turkey wants to wait until the US pulls its troops out of northeastern Syria. Russia and Iran say that the Syrian government should control northeastern Syria.

Church age Christians should not look for signs in the heavens
Heavenly signs are meant for Israel near the end of their great tribulation

The only signs in the heavens happen near the end of the Tribulation period. These signs are meant for the Jews who are being horribly persecuted in Jerusalem and Judea. These signs are meant to comfort Israel; showing them that Jesus Christ their Messiah is coming to rescue them soon. There are no heavenly signs that Church age Christians should look for except maybe Satan as he falls from heaven to earth like a star.
Luke 21:25-27 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
In Joel 2:31 we are told that there will be signs in the sun and the moon before Jesus Christ’s second coming.
Joel 2:30-32 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Notice that these verses directly relate to the nation of Israel. The sun will be darkened and the moon will become blood red. These signs will indicate the approaching judgment of God on Israel’s enemies. These signs will likely be most visible in Jerusalem. Verse 32 above indicates that Jews will be rescued on Mt. Zion. Mt. Zion is the hill just south of the temple mount in Jerusalem. There will be a small group of Jews on Mount Zion who will survive the Tribulation (please read my commentary titled “The Last Jews in Jerusalem”). Below, Revelation 6:12 is quoting Joel 2:31.
Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
It is important to note that according to these verses these signs do not foretell the approach of the Resurrection or Rapture. Nor do they foretell the coming of the Tribulation period. Instead these verses most certainly pertain to the end of the seven year Tribulation period. They foretell the day of Jesus Christ’s vengeance and wrath on Israel’s enemies. Before Jesus returns in power and vengeance against Israel’s enemies the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood. These signs will be visible to the Jews bunkered on Mount Zion. Before Jesus returns to vanquish Israel’s enemies and to save the surviving Jews in Jerusalem there will be signs in the heavens and in the earth.
Below, Jesus confirms that these signs occur near the end of the Tribulation period.
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Jesus said this to the religious leaders of his day.
Matthew 16:3b O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
Christians should not be looking to the stars for a sign. Instead they should understand the events of the day. Turkey will soon be in position to attack Hamah and Tell Rifaat. This signals the soon destruction of Damascus. ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi just recorded a message to his ISIS troops just like Nahum 2:5 predicted. This tells us that the city of Mosul in northern Iraq is about to be flooded and may indicate the near coming of Jesus Christ. These are the signs of the times. Don’t be left in the dark. Mosul is a heap of rubble and corpses
and it may get even worse.

The Iraqi government has declared victory over ISIS in Mosul. But the fight is not over yet. ISIS is still fighting in Mosul.
The Prophet Nahum predicted the flooding and destruction of the ancient Assyrian capital city of Nineveh. Today Nineveh is called Mosul in northern Iraq. Mosul is the hometown and headquarters of ISIS in Iraq . Nahum may also predict the defeat of ISIS and also the destruction and flooding of Mosul.
Mosul in northern Iraq is a wreck. The Iraqi government suggested that the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul should be abandoned. Residents say that there can be no rebuilding because of its horrific condition.
Nahum 3:19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
ISIS fighters are still emerging from tunnels and killing civilians in western Mosul.
Nahum 3:11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.
Thousands of corpses still litter western Mosul. The Iraqi Army refuses to remove the bodies of dead ISIS fighters; saying that they don’t deserve the respect of burial.
Nahum 3:3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
Nahum predicts the defeat of ISIS and also the destruction and flooding of Mosul.
Nahum 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
Nahum 2:6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
Nahum 2:8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
Mosul is in an horrific state today but things could get even worse. In 612 BC God sent torrential rains to wash away the walls of Nineveh. Today the Mosul dam is in danger of bursting.
Nahum 3:6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

I think that we will hear more bad news regarding ISIS and their stronghold in Mosul. When we do, everybody will consider that ISIS has received their just reward.
