    Meek seek haven in heaven

When we are taken at the Rapture

    By Craig C. White

To receive our renewed bodies and to be with Jesus Christ and other believers in Heaven will be wonderful. Also, to escape the troubles and worries of this world will be great. However, I have figured something out.

First, the reason that the Church will be taken at the Rapture isn’t because our time has come, or that we are so good that God can’t wait to see us, but it is because a terrible time of trouble is coming on Israel and on the entire world. We will be taken in order to escape it.

The verse below is addressed first to Israel and then to all of the meek of the earth.

Zephaniah 2:3  Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.

The main event is not the Rapture of the Church, but the main event is that Israel and the nations will be judged. Church age believers will be watching the events of the tribulation on earth from heaven. The Tribulation is the main event. After the Tribulation on Earth the Church will return to Earth with Jesus to live there forever.

Israel is at the center of God’s plan of redemption for all people. God chose Abraham to be his nation. God promised King David that his descendant would rule in Jerusalem forever. God promised that the Messiah would come from the Jews. To believe on him would mean everlasting life. We won’t live in Heaven forever. Christians will return to Earth after the Tribulation. We will first help to care for many hurting Jews who have survived the Tribulation. We will then rule on earth with Jesus Christ forever. Didn’t you know that the meek shall inherit the earth?

Matthew 5:5  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Before the Tribulation begins, every meek person both Jew and gentile who believe in Jesus Christ will find shelter in Heaven from God’s judgment on Earth.

Very interesting to read and hard to stop. – Alexandria

    Map of Heaven

    Mountain, throne, temple, city, valley

    by Craig C. White

Heaven looks a lot like the city of Jerusalem, only with better views. Or I should say Jerusalem is patterned like heaven. Fact is, in time Jerusalem will look more and more like heaven. If you want to be able to find your way around heaven all you have to do is scroll down and check out your Map of Heaven!

There is a mountain in Jerusalem called mount Zion. There are other mountains or hills that are called Zion but the true mount Zion is located on the south east corner of Jerusalem. It is also called the “city of David”, or the “hill of Ophel”. King David had his palace and throne on mount Zion. Some think that his son Solomon built his temple on mount Zion. One day mount Zion in Jerusalem will become a very high mountain and Jesus will rule the world from his throne there. You can easily find it on your map of heaven.

Eze 40:2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

Psa 48:1-2 A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. 2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Jesus is the great King. The north sides of mount Zion will be where Jesus sets his throne on earth. The north side of mount Zion faces Jerusalem. God in heaven also faces Jerusalem.

Isa 49:16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

There is also a mountain in heaven where God is seated on his throne. The Devil has seen it and boy is he jealous! He wants to be like God and sit on the throne on the north side of the heavenly mount.

Isa 14:13-14 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

God’s heavenly throne is on the north side of the holy mountain in heaven. King David’s palace has been found on the north side of mount Zion in Jerusalem. Hebrew University archaeologist, Dr. Eilat Mazar has located the site. Read “Is It the Palace of King David?” by Sarah H. Moore at www.leaderu.com.

There have been two chief temples in Jerusalem. The first was King Solomon’s temple (1Ki 6). Construction began in 960 B.C.; it was destroyed in 606 B.C. by the Babylonian Empire. The second was Zerubbabel’s temple (Ezr 6-8). Construction began about 520 B.C.; it was plundered and defiled by Antiochus Epiphanies in 167 B.C. It was restored by Judas Maccabeus and latter renovated by Herod the great. So it is sometimes known as Herod’s temple. Zerubbabel’s temple (or Herod’s temple) was destroyed by the Roman Empire in 70 A.D. There will be two more temples built in Jerusalem. The next temple (or holy place) will be built by Israel and will stand during the seven year “Tribulation period” (Dan 9:27, Mat 24:15). The final temple will be built by Jesus and will stand during the one thousand year “millennial” reign of Christ on earth (Eze 40-47:12). There is also a temple in heaven. Why would God need a temple? Does He make sacrifices? Yes, only one. God’s temple is shown on the Map of Heaven.

Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The glory of God occupied King Solomon’s temple. The heavenly temple is God’s holy headquarters.

Psa 11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

If I told you that there is a city in Jerusalem, I’m sure you would believe it. There is a city in heaven. Abraham believed it and he didn’t even have a map of Heaven!

Heb 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

The holy city is called “New Jerusalem”. It is about 1,500 miles square! The heavenly city is coming to earth. Jerusalem will look more and more like heaven.

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

You might want to notice the Hinnom valley that wraps around the bottom half of the city on the map of Heaven. Hinnom was a man; probably a Jebusite. Hinnom is a Hebrew word. It is used 12 times in the New Testament in the Greek form “Gehenna”. It is translated into English as “hell”. According to “Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries”:

    Gehenna, gheh’-en-nah

Of Hebrew origin; valley of (the son of) Hinnom; gehenna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem, used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment: – hell.

The valley of Hinnom was where the Hebrews sacrificed their children in the fire of false gods. In Jesus’ day it was a burning dump.

2Ch 33:6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

Jesus used the word Gehenna to describe the everlasting destination of the unsaved. The English word “hell” is translated from the Greek word Gehenna in the following verses.

Luk 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

It is easy for us to see the valley of Hinnom in Jerusalem. But there may be a much deeper valley burning in heaven. Jesus and the angels will watch the everlasting burning of the damned.

Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

You are lucky to have a map of heaven. Today if you die, having put your trust in Christ, your spirit will be immediately ushered into the presence of God in heaven.

2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

That is good news. But even better news is that you will soon return to Earth with Jesus to receive your restored body.

1Th 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

That’s right you’re going to get your body back, only it is going to be improved. Won’t that scare your relatives? When Jesus comes at the resurrection the dead will rise in their new bodies and the bodies of those still living believers will be changed into everlasting bodies. After that, we will return to heaven in our renewed bodies to watch the unfolding of Israel’s final seven years of indignation spoken of by the Prophet Daniel (Dan 9:24). During that time we will also witness the wrath of God on all nations.

Rev 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

When you are in heaven in your new body don’t forget your map. And hold on to it when you come back to earth. Come back to earth? Yes sir, I’m sure that you know that the meek shall inherit the Earth.

Psa 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Now that you have your Map of Heaven you will be able to find your way around in Heaven and on Earth. After all, in time Jerusalem will look more and more like Heaven!

    Keep your eye on Mosul

    flood

    By Craig C. White

Circumstances in Mosul, Iraq are a lot like they were when God wiped out the same place with a flood in 612 BC! The Prophet Nahum foretells the flooding and plundering of the ancient city of Nineveh.

Nahum 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

Nahum tells us that God will destroy the place where Nineveh was built with a flood. Well the city of Mosul in northern Iraq is built in the same place as ancient Nineveh. Mosul is built around the ruins of ancient Nineveh on the Tigris River in Northern Iraq. So Nahum may also predict the flooding of Mosul. Today the Mosul dam is in danger of failing. Nahum says that the gates of the river will be opened.

Nahum 2:6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

After ancient Nineveh was flooded then three armies attacked the city. The Babylonians, Persians, and Medes pillaged the city until there was nothing left. Today those same three armies are fighting against ISIS in Mosul. Today Iraq, Iran, and the Kurds are fighting ISIS in Mosul.

On February 16th 2015 Iraq Prime Minister Haider Abadi announced plans to retake Mosul from ISIS in April or May. Since then the Iraqi army helped by the Iranian Guard have launched an attack on Tikrit halfway between Baghdad and Mosul. They are fighting their way towards Mosul. As of August 2016 several towns surrounding Mosul have been taken back from ISIS by the Iraqi Army and the Kurdish Peshmerga. From October 216 to February 2017 the Iraqi Army liberated the eastern half of Mosul. Then they began fighting ISIS in western Mosul. The Iraqi Army has pushed ISIS into the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul. ISIS now has only a small defensive position on the bank of the Tigris River located directly across from the Nineveh ruins. The final assault on Mosul is near its end.

The citizens of Mosul are beginning a week long celebration commemorating the liberation of Mosul. Nahum says that the residents of Nineveh will be drunk with wine when they are destroyed.

Keep your eye on Mosul. The same three armies that attacked ancient Nineveh are advancing on Mosul. The Prophet Nahum said that God will destroy the place where Nineveh sat with a flood. Today Mosul is sitting in the same place as ancient Nineveh.

By the way, when Mosul floods and Israel remembers the preaching of Jonah; that may be the one end time sign to Israel that Jesus is truly their God.

  • Many Bible prophecies have multiple fulfillment’s

Many Bible prophecies have multiple fulfillment’s

    By Craig C. White

Many Bible prophecies have multiple fulfillment’s. Here are a few examples.

In the verse below, the Prophet Hosea recounts Israel’s exodus out of Egypt. That was a big event but it was also prophetic.

Hos 11:1  When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

In Matthew we are told that Hosea’s words also apply to Jesus Christ when he was a young boy. Jesus and his parents fled out of Israel to Egypt when King Herod tried to kill all the young boys in Bethlehem. A few years later Jesus returned to the land of Israel from Egypt.

Mat 2:14-15  When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:  15  And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

I think that there is also a future fulfillment of Hosea’s prophecy. At Jesus Christ’s second coming Jesus won’t immediately land on the Mount of Olives like so many teach. But God will once again call his son out of Egypt. I think that Jesus Christ’s path of vengeance will follow the same trail that the people of Israel took as they escaped out of Egypt. Read my commentary titled “Revelation Wrath Path”.

The Prophet Daniel predicted the coming of an evil ruler who would put a stop to the temple sacrifices in Jerusalem. In 167 BC the Grecian ruler Antiochus Epiphanes fulfilled this prophecy by attacking Jerusalem and stopping the Jewish sacrifices in order to make sacrifices to himself as God. Daniel 12:11 calls this event the “abomination that maketh desolate”. However in Matthew chapter 24 we are told that the “abomination of desolation” is also a future event.

Dan 8:11  Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

Dan 12:11  And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Sometime in the near future a new temple will be built in Jerusalem and animal sacrifices will resume. At the beginning of Jerusalem’s great tribulation (Mat 24:21) the Antichrist will attack Jerusalem, kill or capture many of the Jews living there, and then put an end to the temple sacrifices by defiling the temple. Just for your information, a 3D rendering of the new temple can now be seen on Google maps.

Mat 24:15-16  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)  16  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

The Prophet Isaiah predicted the destruction of Damascus Syria. The Assyrian Empire did conquer Damascus in 734 BC. Some Bible teachers say that that was the complete fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy. The Assyrians conquered Damascus and burned several towns nearby but the city of Damascus was not completely destroyed. Damascus is the oldest continually inhabited city in the world. Damascus has never been reduced to rubble so this prophecy evidently still has a future fulfillment.

Isa 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

One hundred years after the Assyrians conquered Damascus the Prophet Jeremiah gave another prediction about the destruction of Damascus. Obviously this prophecy could not apply to the Assyrian conquest of Damascus since it was given much later.

Jer 49:24-25  Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.  25  How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!

Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar did conquer Damascus in 605 BC but he did not destroy the city. The prophecies about the destruction of Damascus, Syria do have partial fulfillment in ancient history but they have not been completely fulfilled yet. The utter destruction of Damascus is still future. Today the neighborhoods and towns around Damascus have been reduced to rubble. It seems likely that one day soon the neighborhood called “Old Damascus” will be also become a ruinous heap. Read my commentary titled “Old Damascus neighborhood must be destroyed”.

There are many more examples where Bible prophecy has multiple fulfillments. Here are a couple of other instances that I believe have been overlooked up until now. The Prophet Nahum predicted the flooding and destruction of the Assyrian capital city of Nineveh. Nineveh was flooded and thoroughly plundered in 612 BC. Today the ruins of ancient Nineveh lay within the city limits of Mosul in northern Iraq. Mosul is the hometown and headquarters of ISIS. ISIS is attempting to recreate the Assyrian Empire. The Prophet Nahum said that the Assyrian Empire would not rise a second time. Today the Mosul dam is in danger of bursting. The Prophet Nahum may also predict the flooding of ISIS in Mosul. Read my commentary titled “The End of ISIS is near!

Beginning in 734 BC the Assyrian Empire conquered Damascus Syria and then invaded northern Israel. I think that these ancient battles are models for the future destruction of Damascus and the following Turkish led invasion into Israel that is described in Ezekiel chapter 38. Every nation that Ezekiel 38:5 says will be led into Israel is now fighting in the Golan Heights of Syria. The Turkish Army has already entered Syria. Turkish President Erdogan has confirmed his intentions to remove Syrian President Assad from power in Damascus. Also the UN has told Israel that they must give the Golan Heights back to Syria. Jeremiah 49:23-27 describes an invasion into northwestern Syria coming from the Turkish border. Turkey will destroy Damascus and then lead an invasion into the Golan Heights of Israel soon. Iraqis prepare week long celebration

The end of ISIS is in sight

    By Craig C. White

ISIS now controls only a small portion of the Old City neighborhood in western Mosul. ISIS’ last bastion is a complex of buildings located directly on the western bank of the Tigris River. Iraqi military forces expect to overtake ISIS in a matter of a few days. The Iraqi government has declared a one week national celebration. ISIS hasn’t been completely removed from Mosul yet. Still the Iraqi people are anticipating victory over ISIS by the end of the week. Some Iraqi’s have already begun celebrating. In fact; Even though much of Mosul lies in ruins, the sale of alcohol has reached record highs.

The high alcohol sales remind me of this verse in the Old Testament book of Nahum. Nahum predicted the flooding of the ancient Assyrian capital city of Nineveh. Today Nineveh is called Mosul. Nahum may also predict the flooding of ISIS in Mosul. Nahum says that ISIS will be gathered closely together and that they will also be drunk with wine when they are completely destroyed. Today ISIS has been pushed closely together into the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul. The wine is beginning to flow in Mosul. ISIS has been cornered on the western bank of the Tigris River directly across from the Nineveh ruins.

Nahum 1:10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

Let’s remember that Mosul is the hometown of ISIS. ISIS was hatched out of Al-Qaeda of northern Iraq. Many Mosul residents are sympathetic to the Sunni Muslim ideals of Al-Qaeda. Many ISIS fighters have their permanent homes in Mosul. Even though it looks like the last ISIS fortification is about to fall; there are still many ISIS fighters as well as ISIS supporters peppered throughout Mosul. Mosul residents are reporting that many ISIS members are still living in the liberated neighborhoods of Mosul. So there is still some house cleaning needed in order to completely eradicate ISIS from Mosul. Nahum says that God will destroy the place where Nineveh was with an overrunning flood of water.

Nahum 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

Reports have been circulating that ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi has been killed by a Russian airstrike. But the US and Iraqi governments say that they have no confirmation. According to U.S. and Iraqi military sources, Baghdadi has left the fighting in Mosul to local commanders and is believed to be hiding on the Iraq-Syrian border. This week ISIS burned to death one of their own clerics for suggesting that Baghdadi was dead. ISIS distributed leaflets saying that an important message about their leader Al-Baghdadi was coming soon. This is interesting in light of the following verse. Nahum may be describing the ISIS leader as he addresses his troops before sending them to their death as they make their final stand in Mosul. This is something that I am on the lookout for. A formal address by Al-Baghdadi to his ISIS fighters would put Nahum’s prophecy on high alert.

Nahum 2:5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.

The Iraqi Army has made painstaking but steady progress against ISIS in western Mosul. Hundreds of thousands of civilians have been trapped inside of the Old City neighborhood. ISIS has used the residents of Mosul as human shields and has killed anybody trying to escape. There are many slain in western Mosul; both civilians as well as ISIS fighters. The Iraqi Army wants to allow the residents to return to their homes but they say that many dead bodies must be removed beforehand. Nahum says that there will be many dead bodies in Mosul.

Nahum 3:3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

Bible prophecy often has more than one fulfillment. Nahum’s predictions happened in 612 BC when the Babylonians besieged the city of Nineveh and the Tigris River overflowed its banks dissolving the city walls. But Nahum’s predictions could also be applied to ISIS in Mosul today. Tragically the vast majority of Christians are completely unaware of the book of Nahum and its application to ISIS in Mosul.

    Nahum not Noah!

    The flooding of Mosul

    By Craig C. White

There is a dam north of the city of Mosul in northern Iraq. Mosul is the home town of the terrorist group called ISIS. The Mosul dam is in danger of bursting. If the dam breaks it will flood the city of Mosul! Bible teachers are saying that this flood would be similar to the flood of Noah. They may be missing the boat. There is another flood mentioned in the Bible. This flood is predicted to happen in exactly the same place where the city of Mosul sits today! The Prophet Nahum describes the flood that destroyed the ancient city of Nineveh. Nahum said that God will destroy that same place with a flood. Today Mosul sits in the same place as ancient Nineveh. So the modern day city of Mosul may be flooded again! Also If Mosul is flooded it could be another sign of Jonah that Jesus promised to an evil generation. The flooding of Mosul could announce the arrival of God’s day of judgement on earth. If Mosul floods don’t look to Noah. Look to Nahum and also to Jonah. In a flood the last thing that you want to do is miss the boat.

The ancient city of Nineveh was known for its bloodshed and cruelty. Back around 800 BC God sent the Prophet Jonah to the city of Nineveh with a message, “Repent of your evil ways or the city would be destroyed in forty days!” That generation repented but it seems that this generation doesn’t want the chance.

Jonah 3:4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

Today the ruins of Nineveh lie within the city limits of Mosul. The terrorist group called ISIS consists of Al-Qaeda members from the Nineveh Province. Since June 10th, 2014 ISIS in Mosul has been behaving in the same way as the ancient Ninevites. They have committed horrific atrocities against their fellow countrymen in the Nineveh province of northern Iraq.

Mosul will fall soon by a flood and by the same three armies that wiped out Nineveh. Since I wrote this I have learned that the dam just north of Mosul is very unstable and requires continuous maintenance. The capture of the dam by ISIS and the recapture of the dam by the Kurds has disrupted its maintenance schedule. In 2007 the Army Corp of Engineers declared it the most dangerous dam in the world. If Mosul falls I will count back forty days to see what significant event may have happened on that day.

In Jonah’s day the city of Nineveh repented however God finally judged the city in 612 BC. The Prophet Nahum foretells the destruction of Nineveh. The city was flooded by the Tigris River and was then besieged by three nations. Babylon, Persia, and the Medes plundered Nineveh for two months leveling the city. Today the same three nations are fighting against ISIS in Mosul. They are Iraq, Iran, and the Kurds. Perhaps God will send another flood along with these three armies to once again overwhelm Mosul at Nineveh!

Nahum 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

Conditions in Mosul are the same as they were in ancient Nineveh. There is overflowing bloodshed. The Mosul dam is in danger of bursting. The same three armies are set against it. Nahum likely also foretells the destruction of Mosul.

Nahum 3:1-3 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not; 2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots. 3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

God spared the city of Nineveh in Jonah’s’ day. Jonah was upset because the people of Nineveh repented and escaped God’s punishment. God reminded Jonah that many innocent lives would be lost during the destruction of Nineveh. I suppose that most of us today would be happy to see ISIS in Mosul wiped out. In the book of Jonah God reminds us of the human tragedy his judgment brings. Moral of the story; repent while you still can!

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Folks wanted proof that Jesus was God so they demanded a sign. Jesus gave them the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah was inside of the fish for three days Jesus also rose from the grave in three days. But there may be more to the sign of Jonah. Long before the Mosul dam was ever built Bible scholars have wondered if the preaching of Jonah was also a part of the sign. The grammar of Mathew 12:39-41 leads some Bible scholars to think that the subject of Jesus’s comment was the preaching of Jonah.

Matthew 12:38-41 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

The Greek word translated as “sign” means miracle or supernatural wonder. Notice in verse 41 that the men of Nineveh repented at the preaching of Jonah. They did not repent at the miracle of surviving in a large fish for three days.

The unbelieving religious rulers in Jerusalem demanded a sign from Jesus. Jesus told them that they would be given the sign of Jonah. Jonah was sent to ancient Nineveh to preach God’s judgment on the city. The destruction of Mosul could be the end time sign to Israel that their time of trouble is at hand.

Jesus said that an evil generation desires to be shown a sign. We should already know and honor God because it is evident that he has created all things and also because has given us his word. We should not require a sign in order to motivate us to repent from our unbelief and rebellion. Nevertheless Jesus gave his generation the sign of Jonah.

Jesus said that even the men of ancient Nineveh will rise from the dead and condemn his generation for its unbelief. It seems to me that this generation is about to witness another sign of Jonah. ISIS in the city of Mosul rejected Jonah’s offer of repentance by blowing up Jonah’s shrine on July 24th, 2014. If God now judges Mosul forty days later then the entire world had better take notice! A terrible time of God’s judgment is coming upon Israel and also upon all of the earth. Only by repentance from unbelief can we escape it.

  • The battle for Mosul vs the flood zone

The battle for Mosul vs the flood zone

    By Craig C. White

The following verse was written about the place where the city of Mosul sits today. Mosul is situated along the Tigris River in northern Iraq. Mosul is the hometown and headquarters of ISIS. Mosul is Iraq’s second largest city with a prewar population of two and one half million. After two years of ISIS control one and one half million people remain in the city.

Nahum 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

The Prophet Nahum predicted the flooding and destruction of the ancient city of Nineveh. Nineveh was the capital city of the Assyrian Empire. Nineveh had great high walls making an attack very difficult. In 612 BC God sent torrential rain to swell the Tigris River and breach the walls of Nineveh. After the flood Nineveh’s enemies assaulted the city putting an end to the Assyrian Empire. The ruins of Nineveh still lay desolate within the city limits of Mosul.

The flood that Nahum describes seems to be far worse than the flood that broke down the walls of Nineveh. Today the Mosul dam lays thirty five miles upstream of Mosul. The Mosul dam has been labeled as the most dangerous dam in the world. It is in danger of failing. Nahum says that the gates of the Tigris River will be opened. Today the gates of the Mosul dam have come off of their hinges.

Nahum also says that the Assyrian Empire will not rise up a second time (Nahum 1:9). ISIS in Mosul is trying to create a new Assyrian Empire. So I suspect that ISIS in Mosul will be destroyed in a tremendous flood.

The same three nations that overthrew Nineveh are fighting against Mosul today. The Iraqi Army is already fighting within the eastern city limits of Mosul. The Kurds are fighting to the north, and Iranian backed Shiite militias are fighting to the far west of Mosul.

The battle for Mosul has been going on for about two months. The fighting has gotten much harder and slower now that the Iraqi Army has entered into the more densely populated city limits on the eastern side of Mosul.

ISIS still controls most of Mosul. The center of ISIS territory lies in the worst flood zone. If the Mosul dam were to break then parts of Mosul could be covered by 75 feet of water. The Prophet Nahum says that the inhabitants of Nineveh will be gathered close together and drunken when they are destroyed.

Nahum 1:10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

Perhaps the armies that have gathered against Mosul will drive ISIS towards the center of the city where they are certain to be swept away in the flood.

  • ISIS LAST STAND IN MOSUL

    ISIS LAST STAND IN MOSUL

Mapping out the book of Nahum

    By Craig C. White

Let’s take a close look at the last remaining defense of ISIS in Mosul. Since the summer of 2014 ISIS has controlled the entire city of Mosul in northern Iraq. But beginning in October 2016 the Iraqi Army has been pushing ISIS towards the center of the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul. Today ISIS controls only one square mile of Mosul’s Old City neighborhood.

Here is where things get interesting. The Prophet Nahum predicted the flooding of ancient Nineveh. Nineveh flooded in 612 BC. Today Nineveh is called Mosul. Nahum may also predict the flooding of ISIS in Mosul.

Nahum 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

Nahum says that ISIS will be gathered closely together when their destruction comes upon them. Today ISIS has been gathered closely together along the Tigris River in the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul. The following verse describes ISIS as they are gathered together like brambles to be burned. Nahum says that they will be gathered closely together and that they will be drunk when they are quickly and utterly destroyed.

Nahum 1:10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

In the next verse I think that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is being referenced. At the time of ISIS’ last stand Al-Baghdadi will formally recognize the ISIS fighters and send them off to battle. Reports have been circulating that Al-Baghdadi has been killed. On June 25th ISIS distributed thousands of leaflets announcing that an important message about Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was coming.

Nahum 2:5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.

Notice that a defense will be prepared. Take a look at the “ISIS LAST STAND IN MOSUL” map. ISIS has hung cloth sheets over the streets of Mosul in order to hide the view of their activity from above. These cloth sheets are marked in red on the map. You can be sure that ISIS has been very busy fortifying these areas in preparation for their final battle. Also notice that these cloth sheets cover a corridor that connects two mosques. It is almost certain that ISIS will make their last stand along the Tigris River in the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul.

ISIS LAST STAND IN MOSUL - MAPISIS LAST STAND IN MOSUL – MAP

Nahum says that when ISIS has prepared their defense and when the ISIS fighters are in place along the wall then the gates of the Tigris River will be opened.

Nahum 2:6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

In the verse above, Nahum identifies a palace that will be dissolved by the flood of water. The Hebrew word that is translated as palace means a building with a large capacity to hold people. Nahum is almost certainly identifying the palace of Assyrian King Sennacherib that was inundated by the flood of 612 BC. But Nahum could also be identifying the building where ISIS will fight its last battle. Look at the map again. The Collector Alogwat Mosque is located right on the Tigris River. Perhaps Nahum is identifying the Alogwat Mosque as being dissolved in the near future flood. Or perhaps Nahum is identifying the entire ISIS complex that they have constructed next to the Tigris River.

Here is something else to consider. The palace of Assyrian King Sennacherib was rediscovered earlier this year for the first time since it was flooded in 612 BC. This is an archeological discovery of biblical proportions. Archeologists from around the world are eager to excavate the site but they may never get the chance. It is a possibility that Sennacherib’s palace will be completely washed away by the Tigris River. If so God will be making a broad condemnation about ISIS’ attempt to reestablish the Assyrian Empire. In Nahum 1:9 God says that Assyria would not afflict Israel for a second time.

The next verse says that Nineveh (or Mosul) will look like a water reservoir for many days. The ISIS fighters that haven’t been drowned will be given orders to stay and fight but instead they will run for their lives.

Nahum 2:8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

A couple of times Nahum mentions that ISIS will be drunk while fighting their last battle. In the next verse Nahum is saying that ISIS will seek a fortified position because the Iraqi Army is closing in.

Nahum 3:11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.

In the following verse Nahum says that the strongholds that ISIS has built will be readily defeated. This may refer to the ability of the Iraqi Army to break down ISIS defenses. Or it could also describe the dissolving of ISIS fortifications by the flood. Or as my good friend Sergio points out; the shaking in this verse good refer to an earthquake. An earthquake is also mentioned in Nahum 1:5 that occurs at the presence of the Lord.

Nahum 3:12 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.

In the next verse God is instructing ISIS to prepare their position for battle. Gather water and build brick walls for defense. Just for your information: Brick manufacturing is one of Mosul’s biggest industries. It could be that ISIS has literally been building brick walls underneath those cloth sheets that cover the streets of Mosul (see map).

Nahum 3:14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.

Nahum predicted the flooding, pillaging, and burning of ancient Nineveh. All of that happened in 612 BC. Conditions in Mosul today mirror the events of 612 BC. The Assyrian Empire has lifted its head. The same nations that overthrew Nineveh are fighting against ISIS today. The Prophet Nahum may also predict the flooding of ISIS in Mosul. Now ISIS has been gathered closely together. They have fortified their position. If Nahum’s prophecy also applies today than Mosul will flood very soon.

  • Nahum Checklist – Drunk, fortified, and flooded

    Nahum Checklist

    Drunk, fortified, and flooded

    By Craig C. White

The Prophet Nahum predicted the flooding, burning, and pillaging of ancient Nineveh. This happened in 612 BC. So Nahum’s prophecy has already been fulfilled. But sometimes Bible prophecy has multiple fulfillment. In this case Nahum may also predict the flooding and destruction of ISIS in Mosul. You see, today the ancient city of Nineveh is called Mosul. Many of the things that Nahum predicted have already happened to ISIS in Mosul. If Nahum’s prophecy also applies today then ISIS in Mosul will be destroyed by a flood of water very very soon! Here is a checklist of events that have already happened in Mosul.

In this verse Nahum says that ISIS will be gathered closely together and will also be drunk with wine. Today ISIS has been pushed closely together into the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul.

Nahum 1:10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

Here is an interesting note. Even though hundreds of thousands of residents have fled Mosul; alcohol sales have just reached an all-time record high. In the neighborhoods that have been reclaimed from ISIS the people want to celebrate. Perhaps ISIS will get their hands on some of this booze.

The next verse identifies a rotten leader who comes out of Mosul. Head ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi lives in Mosul. Mosul is the hometown and headquarters of ISIS.

Nahum 1:11 There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.

The next verse says that the gates of the rivers will be opened. The Tigris River flows right through the middle of Mosul in northern Iraq. The gates of the Mosul dam have been broken for a long time. On May 4, 2017 at least one of the gates was repaired and opened for the first time in twelve years.

Nahum 2:6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

The Iraqi Army has pushed ISIS into the Old City neighborhood in western Mosul. The Grand Al-Nuri Mosque is located there. The Al-Nuri Mosque is where ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi announced the formation of his Islamic State (or Caliphate; i.e. ISIS). I suspected that Nahum may be identifying the Al Nuri Mosque as “the palace” in the verse above. That is until ISIS blew the Al Nuri Mosque to smithereens. So we are obviously looking for a different palace to be dissolved. Nahum may be referring to the palace of Assyrian King Sennacherib that was just recently rediscovered for the first time since it was buried by the flood of 612 BC.

In the next verse Nahum calls Mosul “the bloody city”. Over the past three years ISIS has brutally killed many tens of thousands of innocent citizens in Mosul. Over the past eight months the Iraqi Army has killed several thousand ISIS fighters. There have also been many civilian and military casualties of the battle for Mosul. Added up, the death toll reaches about 100,000 in Mosul.

    Nahum 3:1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;

There have been many news reports about the bodies of dead ISIS fighters lying in the streets.

Nahum 3:3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

There may be many more corpses after the flood hits.

In the next verse the Prophet Nahum again says that ISIS will be drunk. He also says that ISIS will seek to fight behind a fortified structure because their enemy is closing in on them. Perhaps ISIS will make their last stand inside of a large building that Nahum identifies as “the palace”.

Nahum 3:11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.

I expect this next verse to be fulfilled shortly. The word “flood” refers to a flood of water just like it did during the destruction of Nineveh in 612 BC.

Nahum 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

There is more to the story but after ISIS is flooded in Mosul then everyone that hears about it will clap with approval.

Nahum 3:19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

ISIS now controls only one square mile of the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul. They are “folden together”. There is plenty of wine flowing in the streets of Mosul. Perhaps we should expect the Tigris River to rise very shortly.

ISIS blows up Al Nuri Mosque

    By Craig C. White

ISIS has blown up the Al Nuri Mosque in the Old City neighborhood of western Mosul. They have also blown up my theory that Nahum identifies the Al Nuri Mosque as “the palace” in the following verse.

Nahum 2:6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

The Prophet Nahum predicted the flooding and destruction of the ancient Assyrian capital city of Nineveh. Today Mosul is Nineveh. The Prophet Nahum may also predict the flooding of ISIS in Mosul. The Prophet Nahum says that the gates of the Tigris River will be opened and the palace will be dissolved. The Al Nuri Mosque was my candidate for being the palace mentioned by Nahum. Perhaps ISIS in Mosul will yet be destroyed by a flood of water but it doesn’t look like the Al Nuri Mosque is the palace that Nahum spoke of. Assyrian king Sennacherib’s palace was just rediscovered for the first time since it was buried by the flood of 612 BC. Archeologists from around the world are eager to excavate the site. Perhaps Sennacherib’s palace will be completely dissolved when the flood hits Mosul. Or perhaps there is another large capacity building where ISIS will make its last stand. If Nahum’s prophecy applies today then Mosul will flood soon. Keep watching.

One thing is for sure, God made certain that we didn’t identify the Al Nuri Mosque as the palace in Nahum 2:6. If God washes away Sennacherib’s palace then he will be making a broader condemnation about the Assyrian Empire and not just about ISIS.

The Al Nuri Mosque was where ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi announced the creation of his Islamic Caliphate (or ISIS). The Al Nuri Mosque was 840 years old and was a national treasure to Iraq. Its picture appears on the Iraqi one hundred dinars bill.

Here is footage of the Al Nuri Mosque as it is being blown up.
