Antichrist identified – Israel Invasion may follow Syria invasion!

The Battle of Gog and Magog parallels the Assyrian invasion into Syria and Israel (734 BC and 701 BC).

    By Craig C. White

I know that the names “Gog and Magog” sound strange to many ears. But these two names are becoming a profound part of the modern day fulfillment of Bible prophecy. There is much debate about who Gog and Magog are. First off, Magog was a man. His name can be found in the genealogies in Genesis 10:1-3 and 1Chronicles 1:5-6. Magog was the son of Japheth the son of Noah. After Noah’s flood, Magog and his brothers settled modern day Turkey. Gog is simply the name of the land that Magog settled. For more commentary about Magog, and his brothers, and his land please read my commentary titled “Magog Made Easy”.

Ezekiel 38 and 39 describe an invasion into Israel led by the primary governor (chief prince) of Turkey. This invasion is commonly called the battle of “Gog and Magog”. I think that Ezekiel 38 describes a separate invasion than does Ezekiel 39. I think that the Ezekiel 38 invasion will happen very soon. It will be led by Turkey after the destruction of Damascus, Syria.

Ezekiel 39 describes another battle that is also described in Revelation 16:12 – 21 and Rev 19:17-18. This battle is commonly known as the battle of Armageddon. According to Ezekiel 39, the second battle of Gog and Magog (or the battle of Armageddon) will happen a few years after the first battle (at the end of Israel’s seven year “Tribulation” period), and will also be led by the primary governor of Turkey. Remember that Magog was the prominent settler among his brothers. In Bible prophecy Magog represents the primary governor of Turkey. During these battles “Magog” may not always be the same person, but he will always be the primary governor of Turkey. Now, if somebody asks you who Magog is; you can answer them directly, “Magog is the primary governor of Turkey”. Today the President of Turkey is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He was Prime Minister of Turkey from 2003-2014. He sees himself as the new Sultan of a revived Ottoman empire. He is antagonistic towards Israel and a prime candidate for our modern day “Magog”. For a comparison between Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39 please read my commentary titled “Magog Made Easier”.

In Bible prophecy, the future Turkish led battles of “Gog and Magog” seem to correlate to the past Assyrian led invasions into Syria and Israel. The Assyrian led invasions happened in two parts. The first phase happened in 734 BC and the second phase in 701 BC. The first phase began with an invasion into Syria, and then a southward turn into northern Israel. At that time Israel was divided into two separate kingdoms. The northern kingdom headquartered in Samaria, and the southern kingdom headquartered in Jerusalem. The tribe of Ephraim refers to the northern kingdom of Israel. The invasion of northern Israel was led by the king of the Assyrian empire named Tiglath-pileser (2Ki 12:18 – 18:16, 1Ch 5:26, Isa 66:19, Hos 5:13 – 10:6, Amos 1:3-5). Tiglath-pileser is also known as “Pul” in the King James Bible. The southern kingdom of the tribe of Judah was spared during the first phase of the Assyrian invasion. The second round of the Assyrian invasion was led by the then Assyrian king named Sennacherib. The second phase of the Assyrian happened in 701 BC. This invasion reached into the southern part of Israel near Jerusalem.

Like the Assyrian invasions of old, the future invasions described in Ezekiel 38 and 39 will happen in two phases. Both battles will be instigated by the same nation; namely, Turkey. The first phase of the Turkish battles may begin with an invasion into Syria just like the first round of the Assyrian invasion in 734 BC. So it would seem that the destruction of Damascus as prophesied in Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49 24-27 may be closely associated with the Magog led invasion that is prophesied in Ezekiel 38. This sheds a great deal of light on current events and persons, as well as our position in the end time timeline. OK, now is the time to exercise some generosity. Give a poor guy some benefit. This is an astounding overview of prophetic events! As Christians, we should all be shouting this to every pastor and believer that we encounter. This is front page news! The city of Damascus is on the verge of destruction. All of the nations that will invade Israel as represented in Ezekiel 38:5 are now fighting in Syria. The Turkish army is amassed on the Syrian border. After the destruction of Damascus, the Turkish army may very well lead the armies of Iran, Sudan, and Libya in an invasion into Israel. Like I said, all of these armies are fighting in Syria today!

If we follow the Assyrian model then the invasion described in Ezekiel 38 may extend only into northern Israel. The invasion described in Ezekiel 39 will most certainly be accompanied by battles on every front throughout the entire land of Israel, including Jerusalem.

Isaiah 17:12-14 below also describes a multi-nation invasion into Israel.

Isa 17:12-14 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.14 And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

These verses refer to an event that happened around 701 BC. Assyria’s king Sennacherib was in position to attack the city of Jerusalem. Overnight, God wiped out his army while they slept. Isaiah 37:6 below describes God’s intervention.

Isa 37:36 Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

Isaiah 17:12-14 above contains similar language to that used in Ezekiel 38. It may be that these verses also implicate the near time Turkish led invasion into Israel. These same verses also sound similar to the swift destruction of Israel’s enemies in the day of the Lord’s vengeance at the end of Israel’s seven year “Tribulation” period.

News Flash: The end time invader of Israel is called the Assyrian in Isaiah 10 and several other passages. Just as the Assyrian kings invaded Syria and then Israel on two occasions, Magog will also do the same. This invader is the same person that we call the Antichrist. The Antichrist is also called a little horn in Daniel 7 and 8. A little horn is a term used to describe a prince. Magog is described as the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal in Ezekiel 38:3. So the primary prince of Turkey is the Antichrist. It seems to me that we are very close to identifying the Antichrist as being Turkish President and ex-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. God will use him to exercise his anger upon the nation of Israel, and Jesus Christ will destroy him at his coming.

Isa 10:5-6 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. 6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

The hypocritical nation described in the verse above is Israel. Yes this happened once before, but if you read the rest of Isaiah 10 you will discover that this passage ends with the returning of the Holy One of Israel and a returning of the people to him. So the Assyrian is yet to come.

2Thesalonians tells us that the reveling of the Antichrist on earth is the sign of Israel’s great tribulation (please read my book “The Fall of Satan and Rise of the Antichrist”). If we are close enough to these events that we are able to identify the key players, then the Resurrection of the dead, Rapture of Church, and the Tribulation period on earth must be very close indeed. It is High Time to Awake, and tell your pastor!

    The Burden of Egypt

    Pucker up your Sphinx!

    Isaiah 19

    By Craig C. White

Isaiah 19 tells us about “the burden of Egypt” in the last days. The burden of Egypt is the trouble that God will inflict upon them for their unbelief and hostility towards Israel. The Egyptian nation hasn’t been all bad, and neither is their fate. They will suffer seriously, but they will also be restored. Egypt took in Jacob and his family in time of drought, and preserved the nation of Israel (Gen 45). Of course they later enslaved the Hebrews, and God judged them. Christianity was the majority religion in Egypt during the 4th to 6th centuries. In 1965 Egyptian president Nasser said “Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel. The Arab people want to fight.” which led to the six day war. Egypt attacked Israel again in 1973 during the Yom Kippur war. In 1979 Egypt and Israel brokered a peace agreement, and have kept it until now. Until recently Egypt has hosted the Coptic Christians and has been at peace with Israel. But in the past few years Egypt has persecuted and killed the Coptic Christians, and has turned against Israel. Their ex-president Morsi is determined to place a Palestinian state inside the land of Israel. The events described in Isaiah 19 happen around the time of Jesus Christ’s second coming. Some of these events seem to be happening already!

Isaiah 19:1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

Jesus will swoop down into Egypt at his second coming. Many Christians think that Jesus will descend out of heaven and immediately stand on the mount of olives (Zec 14:4), but I think that God will first bring his son out of Egypt (Num 24:8-9)! Please read my commentary titled “Revelation Wrath Path”.

Isaiah 19:2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. 3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

Today we are seeing Egyptians fighting against Egyptians. It seems that half of all Egyptians are protesting their ex-ruler Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood as they grapple for absolute authority. The other half support the Muslim Brotherhood and are terrorizing the country. Lately Saudi Arabia has been working with the Egyptian interim government and are curtailing Muslim Brotherhood activities.

Isaiah 19:4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

Speaking of cruel lord; Egyptian ex-President Mohamed Morsi was Egypt’s first Islamist president. He is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Morsi believes in establishing an Islamic state in Egypt and also in Israel. He is trying to take complete control of the nation of Egypt. It is possible that Egypt has had its cruel lord! Morsi is being imprisoned today in an Egyptian army barracks. There have already been break out attempts made by the Muslim Brotherhood. It is possible that we haven’t seen the last of him. It is possible that President Morsi is Egypt’s cruel lord!

I think that Egypt’s ex-President Morsi may yet make a comeback. Morsi may also fulfill the role of Egypt’s fierce king. Turkish President Erdogan has vowed to reinstate ousted Egyptian President Morsi. Ultimately I think that Egypt will fall under the military might of Turkey but that is another story.

Isaiah 19:5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up. 6a And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up:

God will dry up the Nile River! Today Ethiopia and Sudan are beginning to use a lot more of the Nile’s water. Several foreign countries and large agricultural companies are leasing huge tracts of land to grow crops. Ethiopia has plans to build a huge hydroelectric dam. So much less water will be reaching the Egyptian shores downstream. I’m sure that this is all just coincidence.

Isaiah 19:6b the reeds and flags shall wither. 7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more. 8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish. 9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded. 10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.

Everything that grows along the Nile River will die. The Nile River supports most of the population living along it. Those folks will lose their way of making a living. Fishing in the Nile will cease. Flax will no longer grow along the Nile. Flax is used to make fine linen. The entire nation will become impoverished.

Isaiah 19:11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings? 12 Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt. 13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof. 14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit. 15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.

Zoan is a city in the Nile delta. Noph is the Hebrew name for the ancient Egyptian city of Memphis. It is near Cairo today. Verses 11-14 are saying that the Egyptian leadership will make stupid decisions. Every idea that they have will result in further ruin. Today top Muslim clerics are urging the destruction of the Egyptian pyramids, Sphinx, and other non Islamist monuments. That sounds like a bad idea to me. That would eradicate tourism to Egypt forever in one day. Egypt will be left without industry or livelihood.

Isaiah 19:16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it. 17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.

Egypt will fear southern Israel, with whom they share a border. Judah is southern Israel including Jerusalem. Because of Egypt’s worsening condition, the Egyptian people will realize that the God of Israel has it in for them. Perhaps they will read Isaiah 19.

Isaiah 19:18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction. 19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD. 20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them. 21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.

After Egypt’s time of trouble the people will turn to the God of Israel! I don’t think that the word “savior” in verse 20 refers to Jesus. But Jesus will send another person to Egypt to deliver the people from their tyrannical leadership. I think that these events happen sometime after Jesus returns and sets up his throne in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 19:22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.

Verse 22 summarizes Isaiah 19. Now let me summarize verse 22. Egypt will suffer seriously, but then they will be restored.

Isaiah 19:23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

Assyria is best represented today by northern Iraq. Guess what? This represents the land area that God originally gave to Abraham! God will keep his promise!

Gen 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Erdogan says Egypt’s Evil President Morsi will be reinstated!

Take a picture of the Pyramids. It will last longer!

    sphinx photo - president morsi

    By Craig C. White

Do you remember Egypt’s terrible President Morsi? Mohamed Morsi was the Muslim Brotherhood candidate for president of Egypt. He was elected and became president of Egypt in June 2012. Morsi attempted to turn Egypt into a strict Islamist state. The Egyptian Army removed Morsi from office in July 2013. Well guess what? Turkish President Edogan has vowed to reinstate President Morsi to power in Egypt!

June 20, 2019: This week Morsi died while standing trial in Egypt. Turkish President Erdogan has called Morsi’s death a murder and an execution. This event has kindled a raging fire in Erdogan as well as in much of the world. Turkish President Erdogan is now even more determined to reinstall Muslim Brotherhood leadership back into power in Egypt. The Bible tells us that the Antichrist will conquer northern Africa including Egypt during the first half of the seven year Tribulation period.

According to Isaiah 19 Egypt will be led by a cruel leader. He will be in power before, during, and even after the seven year long Tribulation period.

Isaiah 19:4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 19:4 above identifies Egypt’s terrible ruler in two different ways. He is called a cruel lord and he is also called a fierce king.

Since Isaiah gave Egypt’s rotten ruler two separate titles I have wondered if this verse was identifying two separate persons or if it was identifying only one person but describing him in two separate ways. Just so you know. There is no punctuation in the original Hebrew language.

I think that President Morsi has already served as Egypt’s cruel ruler. I guess that we now know that another ruler will arise in Egypt. Isaiah calls him a fierce king.

The Bible tells us that Egypt will be conquered by the coming Antichrist. The Antichrist and his armies will rob Egypt of its treasures.

Dan 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

In case you didn’t already know, I think that the Bible identifies a Turkish Prime Minister or “primary governor” as the Antichrist. I think that that person is in fact newly elected President Erdogan who served as Prime Minister of Turkey for twelve years. President Erdogan is a primary figure in the Muslim Brotherhood just as Mohamed Morsi was. Turkish President Erdogan has already vowed to reinstate President Morsi in Egypt. I guess that he has missed his chance but I am absolutely certain that Erdogan will ultimately reinstall Muslim Brotherhood leadership in Egypt.

During the first half of the Tribulation period Turkish President Erdogan will lead the Turkish army along with Al-Qaeda from Libya and Sudan into Egypt. Erdogan will conquer Egypt and install Muslim Brotherhood leadership there. Egypt will receive another terrible ruler!

A few years ago Muslim Brotherhood supported Al-Qaeda rebels from Libya together with Al-Qaeda rebels from northern Iraq (ISIS) conducted a major offensive on Egypt’s Sphinx and Pyramids. According to these Islamist terrorists, anything that doesn’t glorify their brand of Islam must be destroyed. Folks are now wondering if Egypt’s historic treasures and landmarks could possibly one day be destroyed. One day soon Turkish President Erdogan will conquer Egypt and rob it of its treasure. Then under Egypt’s fierce king the Sphinx and the Pyramids will almost certainly be devastated.

    Hamah is confounded and Arpad

This Bible verse is coming to pass today

    By Craig C. White

Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

Hamah and Arpad are two northwestern Syria towns. Today Arpad is called Tell Rifaat. According to Jeremiah 49:23 these two towns will hear evil reports just before Damascus is destroyed. Turkey is targeting Hamah and Tell Rifaat right now. The Syrian Army is fighting against Turkish supported Al-Qaeda rebel groups in Hamah. The Turkish Army has surrounded the Kurds in Tell Rifaat.

A temporary ceasefire is in place on the Hamah and Idlib border in order to evacuate civilians. 300,000 civilians are already taking refuge near the Turkish border in Idlib province. The UN says that 2,000,000 Syrians could flee to Turkey although Turkey has closed its border.

This week Turkey accused the Syrian Army of breaking the ceasefire by firing mortars at a Turkish military outpost in Idlib. It was later discovered that Turkish supported Al-Qaeda forces probably fired the mortars. This didn’t stop Turkey from threatening to directly engage the Syrian Army and of accusing Russia of allowing the attack. It seems that Turkey is itching to attack the Syrian Army. We ought to remember the words of Turkish President Erdogan when he said that the sole reason why the Turkish Army entered Syria was to remove Syrian President Assad from power in Damascus.

Russia and Turkey have refused to stop the fighting between the Syrian Army and Turkish supported rebel groups on the Hamah and Idlib border. Turkey has moved reinforcements to Idlib. The US and the UN are signaling their support for the Turkish supported Al-Qaeda rebel groups fighting in Idlib. It seems that the Turkish Army will join the fighting soon. Turkey has increased their supply of heavy artillery and has even sent Turkish commanded Free Syrian Army troops to Idlib to help the Al-Qaeda rebels. It seems that the Turkish Army will ultimately come directly into combat with the Syrian Army. Reports from the US Department of Defense lead me to believe that the US may be willing to provide air support which would bring the US directly against the Russian Air Force. That would certainly upset world politics.

US and Israeli weapons seized in Syria

These weapons could now be used against Israel

    By Craig C. White

The Syrian military has seized huge weapons caches that the US and Israel supplied to the “moderate” Al-Qaeda rebels in Dara and Homs. These “moderate” rebels are now fighting alongside the radical Syrian Al-Qaeda affiliate in Idlib. Syria and Israel have exchanged rocket fire along Israel’s northern border in recent days. These US and Israeli supplied weapons could now feasibly be used by the Syrian Army against Israel in the Golan Heights. There is some biblical evidence to expect Syria to attack the Golan Heights before Turkey attacks northwestern Syria and then destroys Damascus. Read my commentary titled Will Israel ask Turkey for help to fight Syria in the Golan Heights?

These primarily Sunni Muslim Al-Qaeda rebel groups had abandoned these weapons when the Syrian Army drove them out of southern Syria. All of these rebel groups are now gathered in Syria’s northwestern Idlib province. There is nothing moderate about any of the Al-Qaeda groups in Syria but the US and Israel have chosen them over the Syrian government.

Turkey is the biggest supporter of Al-Qaeda in Syria. Turkey is now increasing its supply of missiles and heavy weapons to the Al-Qaeda rebels in Idlib. Over the past couple of weeks Turkey has also sent Turkish commanded Free Syrian Army troops to Idlib and has even sent Turkish Army troops and heavy weapons and vehicles to Idlib.

The Syrian Army in Hamah and the Al-Qaeda rebels in Idlib are engaged in the heaviest fighting in Syria in years. US President Trump has called for Syria and Russia to stop airstrikes in Idlib. So Syria and Russia want to retake Idlib but the US, Israel, Turkey, and various Al-Qaeda rebel groups want to keep Idlib and expand their control over Syria even to Damascus. Who do you think will win?

I have been saying this for years, the Prophet Jeremiah describes the Turkish Army as it leads Al-Qaeda against northwestern Syria and then destroys Damascus. This is very close to happening today.

Turkey, Syria, and Russia at odds

    By Craig C. White

Fighting has intensified between the Syrian Army in Hamah and Al-Qaeda rebel groups in Idlib as Turkey reinforces the rebel forces with heavy weaponry including anti-tank missiles. On May 30, 2019 Turkey sent a military convoy to Idlib in order to reinforce Al-Qaeda rebel groups fighting against the Syrian Army in Hamah. Turkey and Russian talks to withdraw the Syrian Army have failed. This is the biggest sign yet of a direct confrontation between the Turkish Army and the Syrian Army.

Turkish military sends reinforcements to Idlib Hama border | May 30th 2019 | Syria

250,000 civilians have been displaced in the Idlib province of northwestern Syria in the past month. These civilians have been forced to live in tents, frequently moving to avoid the war zone. These refugees must remain in Idlib because Turkey has closed its border.

The Syrian regime insists on retaking the Idlib province which is the last remaining rebel held territory in Syria. Russia is supporting Syria’s efforts. Last year Russia made a deal with Turkey to disband the various Al-Qaeda rebel groups in Idlib but Turkey has failed to do so; instead Turkey has strengthened the rebels and have unified them under Turkish leadership. Turkey has also established twelve Turkish Army observation posts inside of Idlib and says that they will not leave even if Syria retakes Idlib.

Conditions in Idlib are reaching a critical point. I expect that the Turkish Army will soon press a concerted attack on the Syrian Army in Hamah and also on the Kurdish held town of Tell Rifaat. The Turkish Army now surrounds Tell Rifaat. Turkey has vowed to conquer Tell Rifaat which is the last remaining Kurdish held town in northwestern Syria.

If you are a Bible reading Christian then you should certainly be aware that the Prophet Jeremiah says that when Hamah and Tell Rifaat hear evil reports then the residents of Damascus will flee and Damascus will be destroyed. Tell Rifaat is called Arpad in Jeremiah 49:23.

  • Is the flooding of Mosul associated with the Rapture?

Is the flooding of Mosul associated with the Rapture?

    By Craig C. White

OK peeps consider this. The theme of the book of Jonah is the salvation of the gentiles. Jonah spent three days inside of the big fish just like Jesus spent three days inside of the grave. This signifies the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Jonah was sent to the Assyrians in Nineveh. The people of Nineveh repented and were saved. Nineveh was finally destroyed by a flood in 612 BC. This was predicted by the Prophet Nahum. Today Mosul in northern Iraq is Nineveh. The Mosul dam is in danger of bursting. God may once again destroy Nineveh with a flood.

Jesus said that he would give Israel one sign that he was truly their Messiah. He would give them the sign of Jonah. Jonah was sent to the gentiles in Nineveh. The flooding of ISIS in Mosul would remind Israel of the Prophet Jonah. It would also remind them of Jesus’ promise to give them the sign of Jonah.

Maybe the flooding of ISIS in Mosul will happen at the same time as the Rapture of Church age GENTILE believers! The resurrection of gentiles would be the greatest sign possible to Israel that Jesus Christ has the power to raise the dead to eternal life. The Rapture would prove to Israel that Jesus truly is their Messiah! The resurrection of gentiles in conjunction with the flooding of Mosul would remind Israel about Jesus’ promise to give them the sign of Jonah and also demonstrate Jesus’ authority over sin and death.

Curiously Jesus is described coming in the air in fiery fury in the book of Nahum.

Nahum 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

Nahum also says that as he comes in his anger that he knows who belongs to him (Nahum 1:7). Could this be describing the Rapture?

Nahum 1:4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. 5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. 6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Curiously Jesus is described as coming in a fiery whirlwind to the Golan Heights of northern Israel. Ezekiel chapter 38 describes a Turkish led invasion into Israel. I suspect that Turkey will destroy Damascus and then will lead the forces that are now fighting in Syria into the Golan Heights. Nahum goes on to describe the flooding and destruction of Mosul. Think about it folks, this is the same path that Jonah followed as he traveled from northern Israel to Nineveh! Sounds to me like the sign of Jonah has end time application.

Will Jesus Christ be angry as he collects his Church? Jesus may be angry with Israel’s enemies who will gather on the Golan Heights and also on ISIS in Mosul. The Rapture is designed to save believers from a seven year period of God’s wrath on earth. Will the Rapture of Christians happen in conjunction with the flooding of ISIS in Mosul? The resurrection of Christians would prove Jesus Christ’s divine authority. The book of Jonah is all about death, resurrection, and then the preaching to the gentiles that results in repentance unto salvation. Just like Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead on the third day, the resurrection of gentiles would fulfill the sign of Jonah. Witnessing the resurrection of gentiles would be the ultimate sign to Israel that Jesus is truly their Messiah.

Is the flooding of Mosul associated with the Rapture?

Revealing the Antichrist & False Prophet

    Gulen threatens Erdogan

    By Craig C. White

We are in the midst of an end time scenario in every way possible. I think that 2Thesalonians 2:1-17 tells us that the revealing of the Antichrist is the sign of the Tribulation and also identifies the nearness of the Rapture. I also think that Ezekiel chapter 38 tells us that the Antichrist will be a Turkish Prime Minister or “primary governor” of Turkey. Turkish ex-Prime Minister Erdogan is definitely Magog of Ezekiel chapter 38. He will invade Syria and then invade Israel soon. The Antichrist will be revealed with blasphemy, false wonders, and a seven year peace agreement concerning Israel. Turkish President Erdogan has recently claimed that he is god, and has also performed false miracles. Erdogan has also fulfilled several other Bible prophecies that identify him as the Antichrist. So I am convinced that Erdogan is in fact the Antichrist.

There remains a serious threat to Erdogan’s power. His name is Fethullah Gulen. Fethullah Gulen is an unconventional Muslim cleric who heads a wealthy religious/educational/business/political organization all about Islamic indoctrination and world supremacy. His Hizmet (meaning service) movement has been working subversively in Turkey for years to infiltrate the courts, police, military, and Turkish politicians.

Turkish Muslim cleric Fethullah Gullen is in the news more and more these days. Fethullah Gulen is a billionaire businessman but above all he is a Muslim Cleric. Gulen and his organization called Hizmet have a huge following in Turkey and around the world. Above all things Fethullah Gulen wants the government and religion to combine once again in Turkey as it was during the Ottoman Empire. Gulen expects to return to Turkey one day as its chief Imam.

As the Turkish government seemed to be regaining control after the coup Turkish President Erdogan gave a speech blaming a certain resident of Pennsylvania for the military coup. That Pennsylvania resident is ousted Turkish Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen. Erdogan and Gulen have been arch enemies for the past fifteen years but I suspect that one day Gulen will praise Erdogan as the undisputed ruler of the Muslim world. I think that Fethullah Gulen will take his place alongside of Erdogan. I think that Fethullah Gulen will one fulfill his role as the False Prophet.

Fethullah Gulen is above all a Muslim cleric. He teaches a brand of Islam that is inclusive of other religions. He is a smooth talker but he is an Islamist at heart. Gulen is a billionaire business man. Fethullah Gulen also operates over 1000 schools around the world. There are 300 Gulen sponsored schools in Turkey. The Turkish court just stopped Erdogan from closing them. Gulen runs the largest charter school organization in the US with over 140 grade schools and prep schools. His grade schools and high schools teach that Islam must dominate the world. His schools also prepare young Muslim students to one day take positions as government officials. Fethullah Gulen has millions of followers all over the world.

Even though Gulen and Erdogan were once allies, over the past fifteen years they have become arch rivals. Turkish President Erdogan has accused Fethullah Gulen of operating a parallel government inside of Turkey. Fethullah Gulen has been accused of being behind a corruption investigation of several of Erdogan’s political allies including Erdogan’s son. It seems that Gulen sprang his political trap on Prime Minister Erdogan in 2013.

On December 17th 2013 the Turkish police arrested several sons of Turkish government officials. They also raided several Turkish banks. It seems that the police may have acted under the direction of Fethullah Gulen. Prime Minister Erdogan accused Gulen of using police power to hold the Turkish government and financial institutions hostage! Erdogan issued an arrest warrant for Fethullah Gulen for undermining the Turkish government.

Fethullah Gulen has been accused of doing all of this even though he was forced to leave Turkey over fifteen years ago. Since 1999 Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen has been living in the United States in Pennsylvania. Gulen lives in a palatial mansion under CIA protection.

Even though Fethullah Gulen now lives in Pennsylvania he still has a large number of his own operatives in the Turkish government. Gulen is also very popular with the Turkish people. A substantial percentage of Turks identify themselves as Gulenists.

Fethullah Gulen’s greatest desire is to see Islam dominate the world. He employs an all-inclusive policy towards Christianity and other religions. The leadership of the Catholic Church praises him for his teaching on respecting other faiths. Gulen speaks in melodic tones and practices poetic phrases. In my opinion Fethullah Gulen sounds like a lamb but he actually speaks the words of a serpent. Gullen shows the hallmarks of the end time Antichrist or more likely the False Prophet. He is bent on world domination and has been working very subtly for years to build his power base. He is also a leading Muslim cleric, although he seems to have developed his own way of practicing Islam. Gulen is my prime suspect for fulfilling the role of the False Prophet!

Check out Revelation 13:11 below. Most Bible teachers see a false World Religion represented here. The false World Religion has two horns or rulers. It is my guess that one of these two rulers could be the Pope representing the Catholic Church as well as Protestants. The other ruler could be the False Prophet representing Islam.

Revelation 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

This false World Religion will be created after the next World Empire is formed. So we may not see the False Prophet officially take his position for a while. But I am certain that the world will be able to see him as he rises to power. Right now Fethullah Gulen is in a colossal power struggle with Turkish President Erdogan. The first step to Gulen’s rise would be his reconciliation with Erdogan and his subsequent return to Turkey. I am keeping my eye on Turkish Muslim Imam Fethullah Gulen.

One way or another we are all very near the time of the revealing of the Antichrist, the Tribulation on earth, and the Rapture of the Church.

  • Jesus Claims that he is God

Jesus Claims that he is God

    GOD HAS A SON

    By Craig C. White

I believe that Jesus is God. As a matter of fact I believe that Jesus was God long before he was a man. Jesus himself believed that he was God. He claimed to be God over and over again. God became a man in order to reconcile sinful man to himself.

Some people say that there is nowhere in the bible that Jesus claims that he is God. They are so wrong. Jesus claims to be God and gets into a lot of trouble for it.

Mat 26:63-65 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

In the verse above the high priest understands that Jesus claims to be God. He was ready to stone for him for what Jesus claims. I understand that Jesus claims to be God. In the verse below the disciple Peter understands that Jesus claims that he is God. Only by God’s power can we believe that Jesus is God.

Mat 16:15-17 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

We believe that Jesus is God through faith.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

John 8:56-58 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Jesus claims to have lived before Abraham. That is because he was alive before all creation. Jesus is not only a prophet. Jesus is God.

John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.”

Jesus the Son is one with God the Father. He said it!

John 18:4-6 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? 5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. 6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

Jesus had the power of God. Jesus healed the sick, made the blind to see, and did many miracles. John the Baptist asked if Jesus was the messiah. Jesus said that his miracles were evidence that he was. These miracles were prophesied (Job 29:15; Psa 146:8; Isa 29:18-19, Isa 32:3-4, Isa 35:5-6; Isa 42:6-7, Isa 42:16, Isa 61:1-3; Jer 31:8 etc.)

Luke 7:19-23 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? 20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? 21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight. 22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. 23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

John 14:7-10 [7] If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” [8] Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” [9] Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, `Show us the Father’? [10] Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

You have to try awfully hard to believe that there is nowhere in the bible that Jesus claims to be God.

John 14:11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.

Do you still falter? Do you still say that there is nowhere that Jesus claims to be God?

John 10:37-38 [37] Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. [38] But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”

If you cannot believe Jesus claims that he is God then believe his miracles. Evidently people have stiff necks, and deceitful hearts that keep them apart from God.

Mat 27:41-43 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

In the verses above and below the religious leaders and the people understood Jesus claims that he was God and the son of God, even though they didn’t honor Jesus as God.

John 10:31-33 [31] Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, [32] but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” [33] “We are not stoning you for any of these,” replied the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”

In the verse below Jesus claims that he was with God before creation. That means that Jesus claims to be God!

John 17:5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

In the verse below Jesus claims to be the Christ (the anointed one), the son of God, the I am, that he sits on the right hand of God in heaven, and that he will come back to earth as God. Show me somebody else who claimed to be God as much as Jesus did! Who do you believe?

Mark 14:61b-62 [61b] Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?” [62] “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

In the verse below Jesus claims to be the Christ (the Messiah, the anointed). He is coming back with vengeance for the enemies of Israel!

Luke 22:66-70 [66] At daybreak the council of the elders of the people, both the chief priests and teachers of the law, met together, and Jesus was led before them. [67] “If you are the Christ, ” they said, “tell us.” Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe me, [68] and if I asked you, you would not answer. [69] But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God.” [70] They all asked, “Are you then the Son of God?” He replied, “You are right in saying I am.”

Do you believe Jesus when he says that he is the Messiah? Do you believe me? Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus is God.

Daniel 7:13-14 [13] “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. [14] He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Jesus is coming again. This time he will rule over the entire earth with power. Beware. Jesus said,

John 5:42-43 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Who will you believe? It doesn’t seem to matter what the evidence is. What seems to matter is what is in a man’s heart. Will you reject God because he is God? Don’t condemn yourself. Jesus is God!

What shall be the sign of thy coming?

    Earthquakes or the Antichrist?

    Matthew 24

    By Craig C. White

Many Bible teachers say that there will be earthquakes and wars before Jesus Christ returns for his Church. They say that these signs are the beginning of sorrows mentioned in Matthew 24:8. Well hold on just a minute. Are these signs meant for the Church or do these signs precede Israel’s terrible time of trouble?

In Matthew 24 Jesus is asked the question “what shall be the sign of thy coming?” Which coming is he describing? Is he describing his coming to gather Church age believers, or is he describing the period before he comes to rescue the nation of Israel and set up his throne in Jerusalem?

Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

First it is important to understand who Jesus is talking to. He is talking to his disciples. It is important to note that they are all Jewish. They are all looking forward to God establishing his kingdom on earth. It is also important to note when the message was given. It was given by Jesus before his death, and before the gospel was preached to the gentile nations. This message was given before the Church was established.

Then it is important to carefully examine the message itself. Are there clues to which group of people Jesus is prophesying about? Yes, there are very clear indications that Jesus is prophesying about the trails of the Jewish people during the Tribulation period. So Matthew 24 should not be used to illustrate the signs of the rapture of the Church. Also Matthew 24 should not be used to prove that the Church will participate in the Tribulation period.

The gospels are very important since they record Jesus Christ’s genealogy, standards of righteousness, forgiveness of sin, miracles, fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy regarding the Messiah, and Christ’s death as payment for the worlds’ sin. The message of the four gospels is to be understood by Church age believers. We should also understand that most of Jesus’ teaching, parables, and prophecy are specifically directed to the nation of Israel. Jesus was sent especially to seek and to save the lost sheep of Israel.

Mat 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Mat 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

It is sometimes difficult to know who is being addressed in the New Testament. Is Jesus talking about the nation of Israel or is he talking about the Church? A rule of thumb is that Jesus was sent to the Jews first and primarily. The gospel of the coming kingdom of God was preached first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. Jesus primarily taught the nation of Israel. The four gospels were written about Jesus’ life and ministry. They primarily address the nation of Israel. Of course, there is plenty of teaching to be absorbed by Church age believers. The disciples taught the Jews first and then went out to the other nations. The epistles to the churches were written specifically to Church age believers!

Act 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Let’s take a quick look at Matthew 24. I know that preachers and prophecy buffs like to identify natural disasters as signs of Jesus’ return for his Church, but these signs were written about the nation of Israel during the Great Tribulation. They are signs of Jesus’ second coming to defeat Israel’s enemies and set his throne in Jerusalem forever.

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

So who is Jesus talking about? As we will see, “the beginning of sorrowsin verse 8 above are not signs that Church age believers should be on the lookout for. Instead, they are events that will happen during the first part of the Tribulation period. Jesus is talking to and about the nation of Israel here. In verse 9 below Jesus tells his Jewish disciples that “ye shall be hated of all nations”. The word translated as “nations” is the Greek word “ethnos”. It is often translated as “gentile”. Ethnos refers to non-Jewish nations. It doesn’t refer to all countries in the world. It refers to all families or people groups. In practical terms it refers to old world nations that came from specific families; like the Greeks, Turks, Egyptians, Syrians, Iranians, Saudis, Jordanians, and many more. So in verse 9 Jesus isn’t saying that Church members will be hated, but that the nation of Israel will be hated by all their surrounding nations.

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

In the verses below Jesus isn’t addressing the Church, but he is warning Jews during the 7 year Tribulation period. Many Jews will disregard God and his promises to Israel. Many Jews will be killed. But those who trust God to the end will be saved. Please read my commentary titled “The Last Jews in Jerusalem” in my book “Israel’s Beacon of Hope”.

Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

In Matthew 24:14 below we can see that Jesus is talking about the Tribulation period. The Tribulation period is a seven year span designated for God to show his displeasure for Israel’s rejection of him. In Matthew 24:14 the gospel is preached in all the world. This happens during the Tribulation period as described in Revelation. So we can see that Jesus is addressing people that live during the Tribulation period.

Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The following verses are obviously addressed to Jews living around Jerusalem. The inhabitants of Judea (region around Jerusalem) are called by name in verse 16. So it is very clear that Jesus is describing the coming trials of the nation of Israel, and not the signs of the rapture of his Church.

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

If that isn’t enough evidence that Jesus is describing Israel’s Great Tribulation, then look at Matthew 24:21 below. This is the verse that we get the term “Great Tribulation” from.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Today the Church is suffering at the hands of the nations, but the nation of Israel is scheduled to suffer 7 years of tribulation. In Matthew 24 Jesus is explaining the trials that Israel will suffer during the Tribulation period. The beginning of sorrows in Matthew 24:8 are the events of the first part of the Tribulation. After the abomination of desolation in Mat 24:15 the worst part of the Tribulation begins (Dan 9:27). It is called “great tribulation” in Matthew 24:21. The second part of the Tribulation lasts 3 ½ years or 42 months or 1260 days (Dan 7:25, Dan 12:7, Rev 11:2-3, Rev 12:6, Rev 12:14, Rev 13:5).

The Tribulation Period is designated to exercise God’s indignation towards the nation of Israel, not for the trying of the Church. The 7 year Tribulation period is the same as the seventieth week prophesied by Daniel (Dan 9:24). It is a 7 year period of trouble for the nation of Israel, not a time for trying the Church. Jeremiah calls the Tribulation “the time of Jacob’s trouble” not the time of the Church’s trouble. The Tribulation period is primarily designed for Israel’s chastisement.

Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

In 1 Thessalonians below the dead in Christ are raised from the grave. Those “in Christ” are Church age believers. They are “caught up” or taken by force up into the sky. The gathering of Jews will happen differently as we will see. Please read my commentary titled “The Rapture Day!” in my book “God’s Great Expectations”.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Below, the elect are God’s chosen people (Deu 7:6). They are the people of Israel. The people of Israel will be raised from the dead at the end of the Tribulation period. They won’t be taken into the sky. They will walk back to the land of Israel on foot.

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Isa 11:11-12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

God will make a roadway for the Hebrews to return to Israel. God will dry up the Red Sea, and the Euphrates, and Tigris Rivers to make roadways for the resurrected Jewish believers to cross over. In Isaiah 11:15-16 below Jesus dries up the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea (that is the tongue of the Egyptian sea)! He will also dry up the Nile, Euphrates, and Tigris rivers in order to make a way for the resurrected Hebrews to cross over them! Please read my commentary titled “Aliyah Israel Arise Return” in my book “Israel’s Beacon of Hope”.

Isa 11:15-16 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. 16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

We have looked at the signs of Jesus’ coming to gather Israel. So what is the sign of Jesus’ coming to gather his Church? Well there isn’t one specific event that triggers the Rapture but we are instructed to understand Old Testament prophecy in order to recognize the Tribulation as it approaches! The Rapture will happen before the Tribulation.

In 2 Thessalonians below, Paul is addressing the Church in Greece which was comprised largely of Gentiles, not of Jews. Paul calls them brethren in Christ. So Paul is describing the Rapture of the Church in verse 1. The believers in Thessalonica were worried that the Tribulation was beginning. They were worried that the Rapture had not yet happened! Paul told them that two Old Testament prophecies must take place before Jerusalem’s great tribulation began. Those two events were the falling of Satan from heaven to earth and the revealing of the Antichrist as he sits in the temple in Jerusalem. I think that these two events actually happen during the first half of the seven year Tribulation period. Paul was assuring the Thessalonians that the Tribulation had not yet begun. Paul was assuring the Thessalonians that they would escape the terrible time of trouble on earth. Please read my commentary titled “The Fall of Satan and Rise of the Antichrist” in my book of the same title.

    2Th 2:1-3 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

In 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 below Paul says that the Church members in Thessalonica will be saved from the coming tribulation. The word “salvation” in verse 13 isn’t describing deliverance from sin, but it is describing physical rescue from God’s wrath on earth during the Tribulation.

2Th 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here are two other verses that indicate that Church age believers will escape from the wrath of the Tribulation period. These people have already been saved from sin. Salvation here is the rescue from physical harm during the Tribulation on Earth.

Rom 5:7-10 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Rom 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Again physical rescue or “salvation” comes to people who already believe!

If you are still on earth when you see most of the old world nations at full scale war with each other and also hear of famines, and disease outbreaks, and earthquakes happening all over the world, then you are in trouble. You have entered the beginning stages of the Tribulation period. It is High Time to Awake!
